Borgo San Martino was the kind of cultural and physical experience I have long dreamed of when I am holidaying in Italy. Not just "good location" or "nice space," it was like walking back in time to when knights on horses were walking the cobblestoned streets below me. The room itself combined "mod cons" (AC, shower and bathroom in the room) with utter charm and beauty that reflected the historic environment we were a part of. This has honestly become one of the favorite places I've ever stayed. Monopoli itself isn't one of the better known towns on this coast but I would consider coming back just to stay here, eat lovely food, and have a swim or two on the town beach. IDEAL!

I bumped my head on the lintel walking in my room and if you have a lot of heavy luggage you will weep carrying them up the stairs, but instead just leave the extras at home. Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems, sadly. :-(

The room was very spacious, furbished in old, traditional furniture. The air-con worked very well and fortunatelly the house holds cold, so it was great in the extreme hot weather. There was daily cleaning. The hostess was very nice, gave us great advice where to go, what to eat - best panzerotti in town ;-) The location is just on the beginning of historical center (well, you have to fing your way in and out ;-)), but very calm in the night. We enjoyed it.

However the bathroom was small, there could be more storage space. And the wi-fi was not very strong and working mostly only on the steps to bathroom ;-) But overall it was very nice.

Great location in the amazing old city of Monopoli. The 4 person room is great with a little kitchen & table, good ac/heater, good water pressure and shower etc. Great host!

Divided on the breakfast; it's very nice to eat in a little café - but the principle "1 food item and 1 drink item" is strange; we would much have prefered having a yogurt (4 euro) and a croissant (0.9) rather than a sandwhich (8) but the first day when we ordered a mix we had to pay for every item beyond first, no matter size/cost. Since offering the cute little kitchen; it would have been nice with oil/salt in the kitchen as most airbnb's.

Firstly, we appreciated our welcome check in. The host, Alessandra, was very friendly and made time for a chat. Also provided comprehensive information and advice - we found this really useful. We liked the quiet location of the house although it was only a short walk to the waterfront, bars and restaurants. The property was meticulously clean and our bed was comfortable, we slept soundly. A perfect place to enjoy Monopoli and explore Puglia. Would love to return for longer!

Alessandra is exceptional and the room is very clean and nice.location is superb. To visit the town and the surrounding it is very well positioned. Even if you cannot reach the place by car, you can park it less than 5 minutes away.

If you travel with small children or have limited mobility, this place is not the right for you. If you get the room at the last floor take into account narrow stairs to climb (but this is typical of old house in town).

Location at the edge of Citta Vecchia proved superb as taxis could come quite close. Quadruple room for one person ( two for part of the time) offered generous space, fresh air ( In May) without need of air conditioning and the enjoyable feeling of having a small apartment ( because bathroom and kitchen were up two steps from the rest). Italian breakfast at Bar Barumba was delicious. I had never eaten a warm pistacchio croissant before.

The steps are steep, you must take care.

Loved everything about our stay. The host is very welcoming and helpful taking the time to give us information about the property itself as well as the location. The property is well equipped with all amenities. It was well sized to accommodate us with our 2 year old toddler so that was a bonus 🙂

Nothing to comment about 😊

Alessandra is really interested in her guests and tries to help with everything. Place is located in really well. It definitely has that "italian" vibe.

Access to higher rooms is through very steep stairs which I guess could be a problem for some people. Also its in the old town so you hear everything in the morning eg when they take out trash

This cosy little family hotel is located right in the middle of the historical city centre in a quiet street. Our room was spacious and clean with a comfy bed, and we really liked its romantic atmosphere. The owner, Alessandra is a super kind and helpful person, who made every effort to make sure we felt at home in Monopoli. The classic Italian breakfast was served in the nearby café in the main square. This little hotel was a superb base to discover the area. All of this at a reasonable price. What's not to love here? :)

Really nothing, except we missed some wine glasses, it would be nice to have it in the kitchen. :)

Bellissimo location and very attentive owner. A traditional and authentic stay in the old town of Monopoli. A lovely touch of fizz for our honeymoon too!!! Breakfast on the piazza was lovely and local. What we needed.

Stay if you're happy waking up very early. Noise from other guests and street. No fault of owner.
