The reception staff were excellent. We dealt mainly with Serge. He was very knowledgeable, efficient & helpful. The food (both breakfast & evening meal) was tasty, good value for money & we would recommend it. The restaurant staff were friendly & nothing was too much trouble. The barman was lovely & efficient too. This was my third visit to Monticatini Terme. The first hotel was good, the second hotel sadly was lacking but the Hotel Settentrionale Esplanade was the best. The location was perfect. I would definitely stay here again & encourage friends to do so too.

Unfortunately we stayed too early in the season which meant the outdoor pool was closed so next time a visit later in the year would be good.

I liked the classic feel of the hotel and the room (classic room). Loved the walk-in wardrobe. The pool was ok (open 10:00-19:00). Very good variety for breakfast (there was ham & cheese, which is rare for italian breakfast). Great value for money.

The bathroom was too classic - it was worn out (taps, bathtub etc. had visible damage). I couldn't keep the toilet seat up, it was falling down on it's own. Also I could hear all my neighbours very clearly (talks, coughing and all other things), so there's not much privacy in the room. The underground garage is very narrow (probably planned and built for Fiat 500 cars), but managable - reverse camera and parking sensors helped a lot :). Despite those inconveniences I really recommend this hotel.

Brilliant location, very clean and lovely comfortable beds with good quality bedding. Pool area perfect. Waiters very attentive and helpful. Lovely food and generous portions!

Some of the reception staff a bit pushy when trying to get us to spend more money on drinks. We had a problem with the travel card we were using to pay the bill ( later found out we were given the wrong pin number) and the receptionist was quite patronising and spoke to us like we had no idea how to use a bank card. We had another card to use so there was no issue with paying but obviously using the card with the euros on was our preferred method. Instead of trying to help he gave us rolled eyes and some sarcastic comments. Apart from that the other staff were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay

Friendly staff Great location to centre and cultural areas and not on a busy street Iv voted it no:- 1/45 hotels best shower 2023 Comfy beds Great value at the time of our stay Perhaps consider staying in Montecatini rather than rip off Florence it's easy to get to Pisa airport and Florence by train......

Breakfast juice and machine coffee were naff (Ask for a proper coffee it's included) Yoghurts bit bland only 3 choices Noisy inconsiderate other guests chatting in corridors and slamming doors

Comfortable relaxed hotel, very courteous and helpful staff, superb cooking, relaxed pool area, and lots to do in the area. We visited the historic terme, took the funiculare to montecanti alto, & visited Florence and Pisa as well as havong a good look around the spa town of Montecanto Terme itself which is very old-world glamorous with an array of interesting architecture from different eras, a beautiful modern art museum and lots of entertainment. The town is slightly sloping but easily cycled, and there are lots of trees and shade to walk in , and we used the hotel bikes to cycle around the terme park. All in all a great holiday. The train runs from ten minutes from the hotel by foot to the major Tuscan cities. The hotel was the basis of it all. We would have stayed longer if we could.

Nothing at all.

The location, room, and overall aesthetic of the hotel were beautiful. The room and bathroom were super clean and comfortable. I had the scallops and pasta for dinner one night at the restaurant, and it was honestly the best pasta I've ever had during my three visits to Italy! I also loved the jazz music playing, it added such a nice touch of elegance to the hotel. I was traveling alone for the first time and had felt a bit nervous about it, but I felt super safe at the hotel and would definitely stay again.

Very nice location and property. The living is across the road but with the lift it is manageable. Rooms were very spacious and high enough space. Toilet in one of the room was very good with a stand up shower. The English speaking staff (Sergio) was super helpful and kind. Very easy check in and check out. The town was a hidden gem with good food.

The swimming pool was okay. The toilet in one of the room was small and had a tub making it very uncomfortable.

Facilities were great, the pool made a good difference to the end of the day, never too busy during my stay. Staff helpful. I had the breakfast on one of the days, choices were ok, for €10 it was fine :) Location good, 10 mins from the train station, nice area

More expensive for what the room offered in my opinion, it was a very standard room Asked for no cleaning but staff came in a cleaned anyways

This hotel is a very slightly faded turn-of-the-20th-century grand hotel in a slightly faded spa resort. (I like places like this.) The grand facade leads to the columned reception, which leads to an equally grand formal dining room. Staff--some of them there for thirty years keep everything clean and neat: the dinner and breakfast waiter was later out on the terrace raking up and removing every stray leaf that had blown in during the night. The breakfast is a fine buffet including house-made fruit dessert tarts, fresh fruit, and ham, cheese, and read and pastry. While the room did not live up to the public spaces. it was spotless, clean, and neat.

Annex building entrance is five steps up and no ramp to drag up wheeled luggage.

The location of this property was central for exploring Montecatini Terme. A pleasant vibe in the immediate area, cafes bars and restaurants near by. Our rooms were in the adjacent annex, which wasn’t a problem, lovely outside bar and seating area and swimming pool. As we had room only I cannot review the food.
