One of the best hotels I have ever stayed. - Location was unbelievable, right next to the Duomo, and close to the shops and restaurants. - Room 302 was very large, with a view of the Duomo. - Breakfast was excellent - Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Driving to the hotel was a little tricky. Hotel is on a Vicolo (alley) in a ZTL zone, which are usually monitored by camera so unauthorized cars can be given a big fat ticket. However, the alley to the hotel is not monitored, so you can drive to the hotel and drop off the car. Make sure you GPS to Piazza Guglielmo Marconi and then follow the signs to Hotel Duomo. Do NOT GPS to Hotel Duomo directly.

Location and Staff

If a word “suite” means two rooms (sitting and sleeping) and a bathroom then their Junior Suite is not a suite. It is a bedroom and a bathroom. The “ garden view’ does not exist. Their is no garden. See photo. The “terrace” is modest and in winter it is not even accessible. The city view from our Junior Suite was also unimpressive. The breakfast was good but nothing hot was offered. There is closer parking than the hotel recommended. The bed pillows were flat, hard and uncomfortable.

The location was great , just a few steps down from Piazza del Duomo. (There is step free access too) The staff were friendly and most knew who you were so you did not even need to give a room number. Everyone always greeted you including the ladies who cleaned the rooms. The room was a good size and had everything needed including a fully stocked minibar. The air con was excellent and actually the room was cool enough I could turn it off at night. The room even had a view - I could see the side of the Duomo. The breakfast was good - toast, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, croissants and three sorts of cake and tea or coffee, fresh fruit and cereal and tinned fruit for those who wanted it. Juice was undrinkable but that was my only issue. I have family who live near Orvieto and would choose this hotel again when visiting again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The fruit juice at breakfast but I drank plenty of water instead.

Great location close to the Duomo and the bus stop that runs a circular route from the funicular station to the piazza Duomo. So we were able to arrive by train , transfer to the funicular , straight onto the bus and short walk to hotel, all very convenient. The room was large , high ceilings and with lots of room for suitcases etc and with a wardrobe, desk TV (with BBC news). The hotel has a convenient garden seating area and the reception also has a guest seating area which is good for getting better WiFi reception which tended to be a bit hit and miss in the room. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was included in our booking and was excellent.

Nothing, everything worked well for our stay in Orvieto.

Hotel located at the historical ZTL area. You can drive to hotel entrance to drop off your luggage (if you can understand the instructions on how to get there). Hotel has a lift and seems to be (well) run by a proud Italian family. :) Very good variety of cold Breakfast with fruits, cakes and juices. We stayed for 2 nts as from 4/06/23 in a double room. Description on booking.com site contains 'everything' hotel room has on offer (not specific for that room type you are booking, it means that you might be misled by the description on website and what your chosen room actually offers. For example: bathrobe, CD player, alarm clock, patio. Those items are not on offer in the double room, but we didn't mind it.

Pillows might need replacement. They are too old/compact. Bed mattress a bit too hard. Spacious bedroom. But apart from that, all good. A more precise instruction should be given on how to reach hotel (correct city gate to enter - be aware of Sunday market - road block). No need to pay for parking. There is a public parking just around the corner of the hotel.

Really nice hotel in a superb location only minutes away from The Duomo. We splashed out on a Junior Suite which also had two outside balconies and plenty of room. Quite impressed as two suitcase stands for us to use, rather than the usual one., which was very helpful for us. Decent size bathroom. comfortable beds. Kettle in room. English TV (BBC) Good selection of continental breakfast. Really sorry that we only stayed one night, would have loved to have stayed longer as really felt very comfortable in the hotel. Highly recommended.

The hotel is in a great location, very close to the Duomo and the main Square which is filled with museums, cafes and restaurants. The hotel is in a small, quiet street but with views of the Duomo. The reception staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The room was large and modern with a big, light bathroom. Apart from the normal facilities there is also a kettle with teas and coffee and a stocked fridge. The prices are very reasonable. Breakfast was excellent-an extensive buffet with freshly made, great Italian coffee. Apart from the eating places in the square there is a fantastic choice of eating places and bars around the centre of the city.

I absolutely loved this place. The hotel has so much history, the view is just enchanting. Would definitely recommend it for a romantic getaway. Staff is nice, helpful and accommodating, Room had more, than I would have expected, you can definitely tell, that the owners make an extra effort to provide every guest with everything they might need during their stay. They also called us a taxi, which was there right on time.

The breakfast could be definitely better and I wish we had an option to have a warm food aka omelet and oatmeal. Otherwise, id definitely stay there again and highly recommend this place

Orvieto is a hilltop town in Umbria, mostly empty in the off-season, above the train station. The tram and bus left us a couple hundred yards of cobblestone from the hotel. The hotel was nice enough, and the proprietors gracious and helpful. Our large room included a balcony and a view of the cathedral.

We have nothing for this section, other than the wifi was limited and sketchy at best. Breakfast was okay for a small hotel, and they made the coffee to order. Thin walls and noisy neighbors (obliviously over-sharing intimacies) were not necessarily the fault of the hotel.

The location is awesome and it's great they have onsite parking. You are literally steps from the Duomo and can see it sitting in the courtyard. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. The breakfast is good and is typical European continental style. They allowed us to keep our bags near the hotel desk on our checkout so we could explore the town a bit more before we left.

Not much to say here. The shower sliding, curved door didn't quite shut all the way so the floor got a bit wet. Really though, no complaints.
