Everything! For the price paid, we had a very silent room with a comfortable bed, window with cool curtains and well furnished mini-bar ; a well equipped private bathroom, with super scented soap for hands and shower gel, replenished daily and a high functioning hairdryer. The staff was nice and always ready to help you, even with a small chit-chat now and then. The cleaning ladies were always ready to keep the room fresh and clean, stopping by in the morning, and if you weren't willing to receive them, you could always use the "Do Not Disturb" tag. The breakfast is always ready and refilled, allowing you to have a variety of choices, from scramble eggs, bacon, jam, salami, and cheese to toasts, butter, marmalade, croissants and cakes. We enjoyed the "aperitivo" in the terrace, open from 18:30 till night. That was the most satisfying experience with the bartender, capable of making you the most delicious cocktail based on your taste!!

Difficult to find something that we didn't like!

Even though we did not get the room that we booked, facilities were adequate.

The fact that we didn't get the room that we booked... It was our last 2 nights of a 2 week holiday in Italy and a double bed room was booked and we received 2 single beds pushed together. There was no comfy chairs as depicted in the pictures of the room we booked, and only chair provided to sit on was a plastic desk chair and the room size was far smaller than the one we booked. There was only 2 hangers in the wardrobe for 2 people so we had to leave our clothes on the side/desk. The remote was a smart TV remote but the TV wasn't a smart TV. Breakfast was a mosh pit and I know we can't really put people's greed down to the hotel, but having to wait for replacements before we could have our chosen breakfast shouldn't be acceptable in a hotel carrying the Astoria name.

We booked and stayed at the Astoria Palace as it offered great value and wasn't too far out of town. After reading both good and bad reviews I can say that we were more than happy with our stay. Although the hotel is beside a wholsale fruit market this is not open every day and it did not interfere with our stay. The hotel was in good shape and very pleasant. Breakfast was ample for our needs. Cerals, Scrambled or boiled eggs with ham a choice of cheese and breads with pastries tea and coffee on offer. The staff were also helpful and friendly. I would recommend the Astoria for great value.. transport is an advantage but not a necessity city centre is about 20mins walk. There are some restaurants close by, on our departure day Saturday we walked the streets opposite the hotel which had markets on this day. Great to see and experience.

Reflecting on the bad reviews. I can understand there may be some noise during the night or early morning with deliveries to the wholesale market next door. We didn't experience this as our room happen to be on the other side of the building. The addition of a toaster for the breakfast area would be nice.. There may have been one but I didn't take note..

We had a great stay. The size of my room was massive, with a great view of the mountains and sunset. All the staff were friendly and accommodating, it was nice to chat to them when we were sat by the bar. We loved the restaurant and bar! Food was fantastic, especially loved the swordfish. We will definitely stay again, especially as the price was so reasonable.

The wifi went a bit funny on our third night there, but I think that was due to a large number of people arriving which may have put a strain on things, but other than that, we really enjoyed ourselves.

Clean, change the towels every day.

The hotel is situated not in the nice location (dirty, full of rubbish). Breakfast was disappointing: all the days the same omelette, the lack of ham all the time. No veggies or fruit at all. The girls in the reception were difficult to talk to, because they didn’t speak proper English and didn’t understand our request about the invoice for the stay. We needed to ask for it and explain several times..

Air conditioning was perfect. Coffee was one of the best (in terms of hotel, and where we went). Very good pizzerias walking distance

Parking in front of the hotel is free, but when full they will charge you for the first floor parking. Still, it is usually possible to get parking on the street.

Good location near to everywhere, easy to move around, nice room and beds, delicious and varied breakfast, helpful and friendly stall. I really recommend this hotel in Palermo city.

I think is because the pipes the smell near to the reception and main entrance.. But is something that all excellent services and lovely staff make that it doesn't matter.

Hotel Astoria was at very good location, in the center of Palermo.There was free parking lot at hotel .Room was clean and comfort.Wifi worked ok in whole public areas.Stuff were helpfull.Breakfast was tasty and various.

The hotel is clean, room was big & comfortable, AC was very effective. There were (limited) free parking spots in front of the hotel. The area is not in the city centre, but you can get there walking about 30mins. Also it's not a touristic area, but it's safe and nice with a few spots for dinner. Even if it doesn't feel/look safe, it's really ok, it's just general Palermo feeling

The place was very clean and the food at breakfast was amazing. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. Tha KS for everything. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 was because it was a little difficult to find, other than that it was perfect.
