The location is unbeatable, almost all landmarks are at walking distance. Waking up in the morning and looking at this square bathed in sunlight makes one’s day, and late at night, when everybody is asleep, looking at this empty square gives you a feeling of peace. We were delighted to have been given one of the old-style rooms, they are much more classy. The bed was huge, which was great, the mattress was perfect and there were two types of pillows—I wish other hotels did this too. The personnel is very serious and professional, always ready to find solutions to our needs.

The breakfast could be improved but then this is a country were breakfast is taken at the bar :-) There is Giolitti next door!

Hotel spaces are very comfortable, with traditional Italian decor. Wide steps and lifts for easy access to higher level rooms. The Room was excellent, with lots of space, high ceiling, and great natural light. Very comfortable bed and nice linens. A/C was very good. Bathroom was over the top nice with strong streams of hot water from double shower rain-like shower heads. The location is very central to walk to Metro and places of interest- and around the corner to an excellent Gelato Cafe that is highly popular. Bonus is the hotel is situated in a very quiet area, no noise! Good full buffet-style breakfast with selection of traditional European meats, eggs, breads, fruits, and teas. They also offered a breakfast box to go for an early morning departure. Hotel staff is very attentive and accommodating, and made this stay really nice. Very happy to have stayed here. Recommend!!!

A fabulous hotel with a rich history and heritage to compliment a city with a rich history and heritage. The Nazionale has a wonderful old school style and feel about it, the staff are exceptionally helpful and you can’t help but feel a nicely spoiled by the whole experience. The location is right in the heart of the old city with allows you to experience Rome at its best.

Nothing to complain about at all.

This is, I think, the 5th time we are coming here and we will always return and rate this hotel with a 10, despite there being some room for improvement. Because not only the location is prefect, without being suffocating for lack of space as other areas in the centro storico; not only are the rooms very clean and, when one chooses the higher categories of rooms, they are huge and with great view; not only the mattress and the pillows are just what one needs, but above all the personnel is impeccable, very professional in the “old school” way, something that one no longer finds easily in hotels today. Clients here are lucky to be welcomed by such a reception. It was not the case in much more expensive hotels we have been to elsewhere in Europe.

Breakfast and room service food can be improved. The bread, for instance was not fresh and in the past one could also order cheese and ham. The free wifi is quite useless. Also, some people may find the more standard rooms a bit disappointing.

On arrival the staff were so welcoming and helpful. We were upgraded for free and really enjoyed the view of the Parliament building from the room. The hotel was immaculate with the cleaners busying around all the time. The location is so central and great if you want to do all the sites which are no more than 30minutes walk from the hotel. Breakfast was amazing with a great choice of hot and cold food and the cakes were divine. We will definitely be back.

The only thing we didn't like was having to leave. Was such a beautiful city and such an amazing stay at Hotel Nazionale

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. This hotel is centrally located to all major sites and you can walk to everything. It is impeccably clean, the staff is exceptional, and the breakfast was very good compared to the many hotels we have stayed in when in Rome. We come to Italy every year and this hotel is by far the best we have stayed in. For the location alone it is so worth it. Old charm hotel in Old Rome. in the Parliment section of town. You are surrounded by police so it is very safe to walk everywhere. You will not be disappointed. :-)

Did not like that we had a tub with shower not a walk in shower. The tub was too high for anyone that might have trouble climbing over the tub, otherwise the bathroom was very nice. When booking indicate you would like a walk in shower and if the hotel can accommodate they will try. Reception is fabulous.

The property was ideally located in terms of proximity to the must see sights. It is a building with a lot of history but has all the modern conveniences that you would ask for eg. Lovely shower. The staff were friendly, helpful and made us feel welcomed. The breakfast needs a special mention as it was splendid - buffet style with a selection that would satisfy most palates. We arranged with the hotel to be picked up from the airport and taken back when the time came at a reasonable price and all went like clockwork.

We had no ‘dislikes’

Understanding that the level of rooms may be based upon view and/or size, when we requested a larger room in lieu of a view of the piazza, the management graciously and immediately accommodated our request. All members of the staff were very polite and saw to our every need. Breakfast was sumptuous and delicious, with many selections to choose from, and the coffee and cappuccinos were hot and very good. The breakfast staff were efficient, polite, and kept the table turnover quick, and the food offerings replenished. We wish to extend an extra level of appreciation to Patrick who was most helpful during our check-out and departure process, Federico who assisted us in obtaining a larger room, but we must say that each and every member of the hotel's staff treated us as if we were family. This will be the only hotel in Rome for us.

Great location. Within walking distance to everything. Also located next to the Italian Parliament building, so armed Police are present outside the hotel property constantly. The Staff Members were caring, helpful and professional. On our first day at the hotel, our room was upgraded by Roberta which was a pleasant surprise and well appreciated, she also personally recommended and made reservations at some exceptional restaurants for us. Patrick, went above and beyond to help my wife when she got sick by having a terrific doctor come to the hotel to examine her. He also arranged private driver to take us to the airport after our stay and arranged “To-go” breakfast box was ready upon our check-out from the hotel. The staff really made a “nice” vacation “exceptional!” Will definitely stay here again.
