Hotel Nazionale

The location is unbeatable, almost all landmarks are at walking distance. Waking up in the morning and looking at this square bathed in sunlight makes one’s day, and late at night, when everybody is asleep, looking at this empty square gives you a feeling of peace. We were delighted to have been given one of the old-style rooms, they are much more classy. The bed was huge, which was great, the mattress was perfect and there were two types of pillows—I wish other hotels did this too. The personnel is very serious and professional, always ready to find solutions to our needs.

The breakfast could be improved but then this is a country were breakfast is taken at the bar :-) There is Giolitti next door!

Hotel spaces are very comfortable, with traditional Italian decor. Wide steps and lifts for easy access to higher level rooms. The Room was excellent, with lots of space, high ceiling, and great natural light. Very comfortable bed and nice linens. A/C was very good. Bathroom was over the top nice with strong streams of hot water from double shower rain-like shower heads. The location is very central to walk to Metro and places of interest- and around the corner to an excellent Gelato Cafe that is highly popular. Bonus is the hotel is situated in a very quiet area, no noise! Good full buffet-style breakfast with selection of traditional European meats, eggs, breads, fruits, and teas. They also offered a breakfast box to go for an early morning departure. Hotel staff is very attentive and accommodating, and made this stay really nice. Very happy to have stayed here. Recommend!!!

A fabulous hotel with a rich history and heritage to compliment a city with a rich history and heritage. The Nazionale has a wonderful old school style and feel about it, the staff are exceptionally helpful and you can’t help but feel a nicely spoiled by the whole experience. The location is right in the heart of the old city with allows you to experience Rome at its best.

we liked everything about this property. the room was large and the bed really comfortable. the breakfasts here are amazing. good Wi-Fi, and the staff are professional and helpful. also a lot of police and security around due to the parliament building being close by, so that the area is safe and also quiet!

The Hotel Nazionale is very well situated in a quiet square next to the Parliament building so there was no noise from road traffic at night . There are always police and security staff around which gives a sense of safety . We were able to walk to all of the main attractions - the Parthenon is a two minute walk away and the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps are very close also. As for the hotel rooms and facilities it was hard to find fault - our double room , although compact , was very stylish . The bed was extremely comfortable , there was plenty of storage for clothes etc , an easy to use safe and a mini bar . It would have been nice to have coffee and tea making facilities in the room - I think they may be available in some of the rooms - but it wasn't really a big issue as we had breakfast booked each morning and that more than made up for it The bathroom was fantastic - large and roomy with both bath and shower , toiletries and hairdryer as well as bathrobes and slippers. There was even a heated towel rail. I liked the fact that in both the bedroom and the bathroom , there were double glazed windows with shutters which could all be opened for ventilation but gave a great sense of privacy and peace and quiet when closed. As for the breakfast - well that was the icing on the cake - quite literally as there were cakes and pastries, continental breakfast as well as hot food and two self service coffee machines and tea making facilities. The staff were excellent - always friendly and smiling and they would make espressos or cappuccinos to order if required . There was also a good selection of fresh fruit and yogurts and breads with a self service toaster. Couldn't fault it !! There is also a beautiful hotel bar next to the breakfast area where they serve a good range of beers and wine and cocktails after a long day sightseeing.

The location was ideal for ease of access to main attractions in the city. Very close to restaurants. Easy to get to by train, bus and a 5-10 minute walk. Our room in the old part of the hotel was perfect. Nice large bathroom and sleeping area. Housekeeping and front desk staff excellent. Breakfast had a wide variety to choose from.

We travelled by train and bus but the downside was the 5-10 minute walk up a long cobbled road dragging our large cases made it hard work and especially in 36 degree temperature. The hotel is next to Parliament House, so you have to walk around because of the barriers. Breakfast, although lovely, I was surprised to find the platter of cheese had also chicken slices on the same tray. For vegetarians I’m sure this wouldn’t be ideal.

Fabulous hotel. Great location, near the best ice cream in Rome and the Pantheon. The staff were amazing. A special thank you to Patrick at the front desk. He is a true gentleman, going out of his way to ensure that we were happy and our stay was comfortable. We had two rooms. Both were clean and pleasant, but one had undegone renovations and was nicer. Breakfast was great - plenty of room and plenty of choices. I have to tell a short story to convey the level of service at this hotel. When walking in the nearby shopping district I accidentally stepped on my teenage son's favorite Nike flip flop, and as a result it ripped apart. He was really upset. We walked to the Nike store and every other sports shoe retailer in the area, but he couldn't find his size. At the Nike store they gave us some rubber bands as a temporary fix and we even went to to the Nike store at the train station to get him a pair - again, no luck...I couldn't even find a shoe repair shop anywhere in the central district. When we returned to the hotel and I told Patrick and Giacomo the story, they had the hotel maintenance staff see if they could glue the flip flop back together. Not only did they perform a perfect repair, but well over a month later and they still going strong! If this isn't service above and beyond, then I don't know what is. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Rome.

I would have liked an extra luggage stand as I'm getting too old to bend down. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

We stayed in Hotel Nazionale for 3 nights. All staff we met along the way were lovely & very helpful. The location is central to everything, a few mins walk from Trevi Fountain, we went every evening. Breakfast had a little bit of everything, perfect fuel for the days of exploring Rome. The rooms were perfect, lots of space, quiet at night & were cleaned each day while we were out exploring, We booked a transfer to the airport(FCO) & all went to plan. I would highly recommend staying here & I hope to come back again.

No Negatives from me! i wanted to stay longer.

Location was fantastic. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was lovely even if not a fan of buffets. Concierge recommendations for restaurants were great. Decent size bar to have nightcap.

The noise ! Bedroom was close to street on level 2. We had asked for quiet rooms. Maybe we could have been given rooms on a higher floor ?? Could hear all the talk on street so we were woken quite early every morning. Also construction (hammer banging) in the room beside us at 8.30 on a Fri morning. Pity cause we loved everything else about the hotel.

Outstanding hotel. We stayed there on two occasions within two weeks for several days. The first stay was fantastic as was the second. The staff does everything to accommodate you. The location next to the Chamber of Deputies is close to every place you would visit in Centro Storico. The longest walks were to the Colosseum, Travestere and the Vatican. Each took around 30 minutes one way. Every other attraction is 5 to 15 minutes. By virtue of the fact that the hotel is next to the Chamber of Deputies you have the Carabinieri present 24/7 which makes the are totally secure, limits vehicular traffic, noise and obviously makes the area around the hotel totally secure (however we walked all over the Centro Storico at all hours and never felt unsafe).
