The front desk staff were exceptional. I counted at least 4 languages spoken with ease. The one young blonde front desk lady was very good at answering questions and explaining the advantages of the region. Every staff member encountered were polite with strong customer service skills - from front desk to dining room to housekeeping to maintenance. The Maître d’ was very accommodating to guests yet the dining room was run with precision. The room had an outstanding view of the lake and the mountains. What a pleasure it was to wake up to that every morning. The breakfast was varied from hot to cold fare and every guest I saw left with smiles on their faces. The test of any hotel is if guests would want to return. This guest definitely would!!

There were no disappointments on this stay.

The breakfast and service were fabulous. Buffet style breakfast with everything you could want to start your day and the staff were helpful and cheerful. On a rainy wet night, I requested a hot chocolate which the bar tender created for me, basically a cup of chocolate warmed up, so thoughtful. The hotel was like going back in time with the beautiful artworks, furniture, chandeliers and attention to detail. The amenities were bang up to date with an amazing rain shower in the impeccably clean bathroom. It was just beautiful, and I would highly recommend.

Nothing.

Has beautiful garden. The breakfast was excellent (nice buffet) and it's served in a very nice room open to the garden. Has a top terrace with nice view of the lake. 2 blocks away from a place to take boats to visit the isles .

Didn't have a coffee machine in the room. The closest way to the rails/bus station is using a road with no sidewalks and a lot of traffic. You can take other way (closer to the lake) but it's longer. I wouldn't recommend walking if you have heavy suitcases. Even with a light suitcase (16 lb) I felt the walk to the station was a little too much (the road also has some slope)

All the staff were excellent, friendly, extremely helpful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The location of the hotel was good, an enjoyable easy walk to get to the main part of Stresa and for getting boats etc for the lake. We were very pleased with our room, it was light and comfortable; and the views of the lake were beautiful, especially at night when the Borromean Islands were lit up, as were the villages along the lake. The breakfasts were good, the dining room was attractive looking out into the beautiful gardens of the hotel. Altogether a most enjoyable holiday.

A number of the excursions were cancelled due to lack of support, which was disappointing, but not the fault of the hotel, of course, but probably fewer tourist numbers, and the rather disappointing weather.

We loved the breakfast and how you can have your coffee made to order and brought to you The pool was wonderful and there was plenty of shade Classic/vintage feel which was fun. Yes, some parts felt a bit dated, but I’d rather feel I was getting a good value than have every little thing modernized.

Room didn’t get very cold but we were able to get a fan from the concierge. We usually aren’t the type to need freezing air conditioning, and though the AC was on max, it felt like it was in the high 70s in the room, even at night. The fan solved this though! Be aware you’re a good 15 min walk or so from downtown where most of the food options are. BUT it’s a gorgeous walk along the lake. You’re also steps from the boat launch to the islands which is one of the big attractions of this place. There are nice swimming beaches along the lake path too.

This hotel has a gentle charm all of it's own, from the architecture and grounds to the extensive art work hung throughout. The staff are ever friendly and helpful, our room was spacious, clean and comfortable and equipped with a large modern shower. Breakfasts were excellent, and the dinning room a pleasure to be in with it's large front open to the outdoors. We made good use of the outdoor pool which along with the poolside area was a great place to relax. There is a large roof terrace too, but with no shade up there it's somewhere best visited early morning or late evening - the views are terrific. The lake view from our second floor room balcony was a treat too. The lakeside is a short walk away with boat services to the islands (get discount tickets at reception) and a multitude of restaurants to choose from.

Nothing much, just tea making facilities in the room would have been good.

The staff was fantastic, and helped us find the best options for our trips in the area. The breakfast buffet was also incredible with lots of items in the sweet and savory varieties (one more reason to go back) and again, the hotel staff promptly brought us coffees and cappuccinos. We also ate dinner there 3 times and it was an excellent value for our money. Proximity to the pier for the three islands was a huge plus - a four minute walk to it, and to the promenade to Stresa downtown. The fifth floor terrace was spectacular and went there every night to watch the sunset over the lake.

We mostly liked everything. Room 201 had however a feeble air conditioner - so we hope they will fix that. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable. More drawers would help. Different night lights perhaps. But these are very secondary issues.

We stayed in a classic double room. The room was comfortable and spacious, had a safe, mini fridge and a large balcony which had table and 2 chairs plus 2 sunloungers. The breakfast selection was wide and varied and of a very good standard. The hotel is situated a short walk away from lake Maggiore and promenade. The station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

The room faced towards a busy road and during the day the noise was intrusive when sitting on the balcony but there was the option of using the garden and pool area which was much quieter. The traffic noise was much less noticeable at night and did not present a problem

Nice sized hotel with an engaging and friendly staff. Given a double balcony to mark a birthday which appreciated and enjoyed view over lake. Decor more tasteful than big hotels on the front. Barman Silvio a stand out due to his professionalism alongside his charm and friendliness. Other staff were good too.

Probably could have been a greater choice at breakfast, more sliced fruits, pineapple etc alongside the yoghurt. If down later often hot food not replenished. Nice room except shower head old fashioned and not secure so fell off when used causing flooding.

The hotel was very clean and we had clean bedding and towels constantly, the flowers were beautiful all through the hotel. Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly. Rather deceiving distance to town.

The bedroom could have been nicer, seemed rather dull and basic and in the breakfast room they need to get more organised with tea and coffee, the main man seems to not want to share the running of it but when it is his day off it runs better, food is good but could be alittle more varied
