Beautiful position. Architecturally stunning. Superb staff. Highly recommend.

Be extremely careful when crossing the main road in front of the hotel. The vast majority of road users ignore the zebra crossing and drive far too quickly. We witnessed at least two altercations.

Food in the restaurant not tasty. The price is really high, but food is pretty usual. The decor and presentation is great, but the taste is so-so.

The hotel is charming with beautiful decor and artefacts and set in lovely gardens. Our room was spacious and had a small balcony with a stunning view over Lake Maggiore, Isola Bella and Isola Madre. The breakfast buffet was extensive and the pool and spa facilities were excellent. All the bar, reception, concierge and serving staff were very friendly and helpful and housekeeping were attentive.

It would have been good if the breakfast staff had offered more tea or coffee without being asked.

Grand Hotel prices for sure but you should consider and certainly use the wellness part of the hotel, pool(s) and saunas included in the room price, no need for slippers and extra towels, all provided. The breakfast meets the standard of the hotel. Check-in at 15h00 and check-out at 12h00 :-)

The wellness could be open until 22h00, it's open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Our stay was too short. The night service is a "little to much" in the 21th century :-), our bed was prepared for just to jump in when we've returned from dinner.

This was a mother and daughter weekend away. We could not fault anything about the hotel, spa, restaurant, staff. We had an amazing stay. We particularly loved the piano bar and having cocktails in the evening also the grounds were stunning, so beautiful and the outside pool areas never felt crowed as there was plenty of sun loungers and different pools to choose. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We both had massages in the spa, which were very good. Also the location is perfect, just opposite the lake and a 5 minute walk to get the boats for the small islands. I would 100 percent recommend

There could have been a little more information for visitors about how to enjoy the hotel without needing to ask reception. For example, we didn’t know the spa and pool were available free of charge for guests and we didn’t explore parts of the hotel and garden. Also, recommendations for places to go and to eat outside the hotel would have been helpful.

Absolutely everything, from the exquisite decor to the down to earth but incredibly attentive staff (especially Gabrielle, Valentino and Luca) who made the stay more than perfect. Some of the reviews do not do this hotel justice, the atmosphere is one I have never experienced before with a supremely sophisticated comfort with a friendly and totally unpretentious vibe. Not to mention seeing a helicopter deliver guests every once in a while in their own landing space !

A real experience to stay here due to the magnificent style and immaculate gardens. If you get a lake view room you won't be disappointed. Excellent car parking facilities. I recommend using the dining room for dinner, the service, setting and food were excellent. Its proper silver service with very professional staff - not that common anymore, but very enjoyable. Lovely pool and lunch area with outstanding changing facilities that look newly built.

Unfortunatley every time the guest bedroom above ours flushed the toilet it sounded like the water was running across our ceiling! but suspect not much can be done due to the design / age of the property.

- Location is amazing - it overlooks the lake and is a gentle 10min stroll to town. - Breakfast spread is delicious and well-varied. - Hotel facilities are excellent - indoor and outdoor pools are excellent; fitness centre is great. - Staff throughout the hotel were incredibly friendly.

Rooms and bathrooms are a little small (nothing overly problematic but you can feel cramped especially when travelling with a toddler as we did). This is helped by the ample cupboard space and entry corridor that can be used for other storage.

The hotel is located close to the shore of Lake Maggiore. The rooms at the front of the hotel have a spectacular view of the lake. The hotel and its surroundings are designed in the style of a palace. Very well made and beautiful. The hotel staff is professional and provides excellent service. The spa at the hotel is excellent. Good breakfast

When the hotel is busy, the spa stay is limited to two hours by prior reservation. This creates some difficulty in planning the daily activity against the time of the spa.
