This hotel has character, with interesting objects decorating corners and niches in the public areas. My room was simple, quiet and very comfortable and had a little balcony to let in the fresh air. The location was perfect, right in the centre of town with lots of restaurants and shops nearby, and 10 minutes walk from the station. The continental breakfast was very good. The host, Frederico went out of his way to make my stay enjoyable and takes pride in giving his guests a good experience at the hotel. I would definitely stay again.

There was nothing to dislike.

This hotel is very centrally located and is an easy walk from the train station (with the exception of the stairs down from the railway station). Super close to Gigi’s bar which was my favourite. The staff were excellent and anticipated my needs before I did. The property had a lift, bed was comfortable and hair dryer was available from reception and rooms were equipped with a fan as no air conditioning. The terrace overlooking the red roofs was great. Wifi was ok

Wifi really needs to be upgraded. It was really warm at night with the doors shuts and just the fan. Air-con would increase the rating of the hotel. Albeit it did not affect my stay and just a suggestion but a duvet instead of the quilts would also upgrade the hotel.

Hotel Saini is a lovely old building filled with collectibles of owner’s father, and set on the oldest street In Stresa. It is a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, 1/2 on cobbled streets, so if you have a wheeled bag, make sure it’s sturdy. The location is great as it’s very close to Lake Maggiore and the ferry terminal. I was able to get an earlier check in. As I’d booked a single room, it was quite small but adequate with a small balcony. The bathroom was small but had an excellent hot water supply and shower. The breakfast was a good continental selection. The staff and owner were very helpful with hiking information and travel arrangements and engaged in conversation. I’d chosen the hotel based on the history of the building and enjoyed this aspect. A big plus was the elevator, as there is a spiral staircase that would have been difficult to wrangle baggage up and down.

My single room overlooked other buildings, the balcony flooring was partly mossy underfoot, and the railing slightly rusted. It was so close to other buildings I could hear voices & music quite clearly at times, and as the weather was quite warm, and there was no air con, the doors needed to be open to cool the room. Booking and paying for a bigger room may have solved this problem.

Comfortable & very well located hotel, a few minutes walk from the boats to Isola Madre, Bella & Pescatori. Good continental breakfast with tasty brioches, fruit, yoghurt, juice, breakfast cereals & coffee. The host, Federico, speaks excellent English and solved multiple problems for me in a most helpful way., I had left two nice shirts in my previous B & B in Turin. The hosts there didn't speak much English. Federico called them & arranged for the shirts to be sent by courier to a B & B later in my itinerary. He also took care of the bank transfer to compensate the Turin B & B for the cost of the courier. Filling out a bank transfer form written in Italian could have been a disaster if I had done it. Another example: About to return the rental car in Stresa, and close to deadline, I discovered there's no diesel available in Stresa. One call to Federico & I'm directed to the nearest gas station with diesel, in Baveno. This prevents late return of the car. This man is a talented fixer who really adds value to your trip.

No air conditioning during the hot weather.

Recommend to other travellers to request travel adaptor for 3 prong Italian power plugs if you don't have one. Service fantastic, room spacious and sparkling clean, and the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. He called multiple taxi companies for me last minute while he was still serving breakfast upstairs so that I didn't miss my flight. This was so appreciated in a moment of unexpected panic, so thank you very much for that. Host serves breakfast, preparing your desired drink for you on arrival, all the while offering tips and advice.

No air conditioning, so I asked for a fan. I'd suggest fans be placed in rooms if no air conditioning yet possible. Breakfast food options were a little limited in terms of having eggs or other savoury options but appreciate it caters to the primary clientele.

Not the hotels fault but I missed Aircon as it was so hot. They did provide a very good fan which helped a lot so not really a negative

It was very convenient as it's just 4 mins away on foot from the boat station. It's also very much in the center, with all the restaurants and ice-cream stores around - the owner has some great advices on this. Otherwise the hotel is simple, I had a single room which was large enough for me, including a quite big bathroom and a little balcony with a little lake view! The hotel seemed run by a family and everyone was very kind and available for questions at all times.

First of all, thank you to Federico and his family for making our short stay in Stresa so easy and pleasant. This hotel has everything you need in a hotel: central location, super helpful staff, clean and comfortable room with a good shower, and an ample breakfast. I see some people have complained about a lack of aircon but there are perfectly adequate fans in the rooms. I can't fault the place. Has to be a 10/10.

Very centrally situated making it convenient for all amenities. It's a family business making for personal attention. My room was a small single but adequate.

Air conditioning would have been good. There was a fan but it was too noisy to leave on at night.

The staff and location were the best parts! I was impressed with the size of the room, and loved that there was an elevator! Would stay again if I was in the area.
