Location is incredible in terms of views and the pool. The shuttle service the hotel offer is great to get into town and there are more options via the interbus / hop-on/off bus. Taxis from Taormina town were €25 at night to get back to the hotel.

Breakfast is disappointing. The fruit and dairy options are good but hot food and pastries were not appealing. Breakfast options are better in the village near to Castlemola (well worth a visit). The room we stayed in was basic but we were out a lot anyway.

You made our little vacation in your pretty town so restful, memorable and special. Gave us a getaway from busy Taormina which we found too busy for us. Castelmola, Sicily will hold a special place in our hearts forever. Thank you to your helpful Staff, who mad us feel so special, especially at the front desk. So sorry we don’t remember your names but the 3 of you were absolutely amazing and mostly professional.

I booked the view of the Vulcan with a nice terrace ( room 308), which was amazing and romantic. The location is perfect because you will be able to go to Taormina in a 25-minute walk. Breakfast was good. The only thing personally I will improve is the coffee because the cappuccino in the machine they have in the breakfast room is not good like the cappuccino in the bar and if people are coming to Italy to drink a nice coffee or cappuccino, that doesn't represent the Italian coffee

it would have been nice to grab a coffee or drink during the day but pool bar did not open until the afternoon and there are no catering facilities open onsite apart from the adjacent restaurant from lunchtime onwards. perhaps we were still considered ‘out of season’ as the jacuzzi and sauna were also still shut away.

The breakfast was a really great selection of sweet and savoury, with also delicious coffee! The view from the pool was incredible, a sprawling mountain range with Etna in the background. The hotel was so peaceful and situated in the lovely village of castelmona, a real gem!

The only improvement we would like to see is to have a member of staff stationed at the pool bar. Often staff would be absent from the bar and customers would have to wait for them to return to order drinks, this was a little frustrating.

My sister and I had the best ever holiday. The hotel's location couldn't be better for a relaxed holiday. It's only 2 mins away on foot from the beautiful and historic Castelmola centre. The hotel also provides a shuttle service to/from Taormina 3 times a day, which was extremely convenient. All the staff were nice, especially all those at reception. I highly recommend Hotel Villa Sonia.

The view spectacular. The hotel is decorated with antiques and the rooms are traditional in decor. The shower had strong pressure and hot water, but it is not enclosed so it neglected to warm the body fully. The beds were comfortable and liens clean and of high quality. The breakfast was very good with choices of pastries, meats, cheeses and soft to hard boiled eggs, made upon request! There was parking onsite for 7e or free down the road, but onsite was most convenient. The hotel is a pleasant 10 minute walk below Castelmola proper.

When we checked in, the clerk neglected to tell us about the key used to access the electricity in the room. Without it, you have no lights, etc. My friend was aware of the key procedure, but I wasn't. Additionally, the bathroom had mildew around sink and faucet - both could be cleaned with the proper tool or an old toothbrush. It wasn't excessive but definitely present. The coffee was administered from a machine - two of them - and neither of them made good coffee or cappuccino. However, there was another room adjacent to the breakfast room that had traditional coffee machines. We longed for a quality coffee - and from this hotel, you would expect the best!

Location is excellent for a chilled out weekend get away. The views are breathtakingly beautiful. It's a few minutes walk from the tiny village of Castelmola .. and around 15 minutes away from Taormina by taxi. There is also a bustop opposite the hotel but you need to put on a particular face mask to access the bus so we opted for a taxi which was 20 euro each way down and up to Taormina.

Not enough umbrellas by the pool... The breakfast was nothing special although sufficient if you're not very picky.

The staff here were so lovely, my partner was suffering from food poisoning from a restaurant and they were so accommodating... offered us assistance and a late checkout. Really great customer service. Beautiful views over the hills to Mt Etna, a bit far from the main town but its on a bus line and they also offer a shuttle service a few times a day. Simple clean rooms. A traditional, high quality hotel service.

The location was beautiful with stunning views, the staff were super friendly and attentive, there was a nice pool and bar area, simple but nice breakfast. It was lovely and quiet perfect for relaxation!

The room was quite small for 2 people, the bathroom was very dated with a tiny shower, there was no hooks to hang towels etc. It just needs a bit of TLC
