We were very satisfied with this accommodation. I could say it was a wonderful experience in terms of quality, price, and the location of the hotel. The view is stunning, and the rooms and bathrooms are spacious, clean, and cleaned daily. The staff are very kind, empathetic, helpful, always smiling, and ready to assist with any information you need. Besides the fact that the location is very accessible and close to most attractions, you also benefit from free parking, a free (and very delicious) breakfast, and free access to the hotel pool. I highly recommend it.

We loved the location, easy travel to Amalfi only about 25/30 minutos by bus or scooter! Breakfast was great , plenty of choice and the croissants were to die for , also loved that everyday there was a different cake/pastry to choose from! We loved the view of the bedroom and everything was so comfortable and clean! BIG shout out to CARLA, such a lovely person and amazing energy , she made sure to tell us everything we needed to know, we always loved to talk to her and we do think her person makes a big difference to the place, we were sad we could not say goodbye and tell her more about our adventures, would definitely go back again!

Shower was a little bit to small and the curtain did not hold very well the water from coming out of the shower base

Everything was perfect! The room was spacious, the balcony had wonderful views, the location was perfect, just 5min drive to Ravello and 20min drive to Amalfi. There was free parking next to the pool. The breakfast was good, and you could have your morning coffee on the outside terrace which had the best view in Scala. The staff was incredibly friendly. It was nice to meet Carla, she always made sure we had everything we needed, answered all our questions and gave us great recommendations about where to eat, what to do, where to go, how to get there etc. She also made sure to let us know where not to go to avoid tourist traps and raised prices. We will 100% return to stay here again on our next visit on the Amalfi coast.

Everything was better than we expected, nothing to complain about!

Federica and Clara were just amazing, very nice and helpful. Best place to stay in Scala, and Amalfi coast. Just 20 minutes by bus to Amalfi, which is very convenient. Breakfast is really nice, everything is fresh. We left our rented car in the hotel's car park, and travelled to every place on the Amalfi coast by bus or boat. It's very hard to find parking and very expensive, some places 10 euros per hour. From the hotel there is a short walk to Ravelo, 20 minutes, or by bus 5 minutes. What else, if you like swimming, you can use it for free in the sister hotel, the car park is in the same place, 2 minutes away, or you can travel to Attrany, 2 bus stops before Amalfi, where is the best black sand beach, specially good for children.

Everything was perfect

The hotel is stunning, offering breathtaking views from the terrace, clean, spacious and comfortable room, and Carla, who greeted us at reception, was exceptionally warm and welcoming. She made us feel right at home and provided us with plenty of excellent recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. We also enjoyed the fantastic pool at the nearby Villa Giuseppina, where the staff were equally friendly. The breakfast at the hotel was outstanding. We highly recommend this hotel, especially for travelers relying on public transportation, as the bus stop in Scala is just a short five-minute walk away. On our next trip to Amalfi coast, we will definitely book there again.

Excellent quiet location high in the mountains but regular buses down to Amalfi. Very friendly hotel with great staff 😊. Single room had air con, fridge and a balcony with great views. Good breakfast choices. The pool was at the sister hotel approx 5 min walk.

A small issue was the bathroom was quite compact with a small shower unit (luckily I’m quite petite). Also the bed was a small single (not a standard 3ft) so didn’t sleep too well as each time I turned over (as a restless sleeper) had to stop myself falling out of the bed.

The view was amazing from our balcony, and there was a very tranquil vibe in the area. Our room was very clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Its location is perfect for a trip into Amalfi, and all the neighbouring villages and towns as there's buses every half hour 2 mins walk from the hotel. The staff at breakfast were helpful and polite, but the real gem was Carla. She is the afternoon/ evening receptionist she was very welcoming and has a huge knowledge of the area and gave us alot of advice regarding buses and places to visit and local restaurants for dinner. Thank you Carla you were great 🙂

If you're any way tall, don't stay in room 11 as the bathroom is very narrow and the radiator is facing the loo, and your knees are attached to it it's that tight bit uncomfortable for the taller person. The mattress was very hard, and I was aching after a while, but that's down to personal preference on what type of mattress you prefer. The pictures of bathrooms in the website are not the ones in this hotel well defo not in room 11. They seem to be from their sister hotel that has a pool, and only a 2 mins walk from the Albergo Hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at Alberto La Margherita. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the hotel staff for such a warm welcome and care. I will be back! Staying at Scala is in my opinion the best decision if you are gonna have a long stay in Amalfi Coast. I stayed for 9 nights. I took a flight to Napoli and then taxi to the hotel for a comfortable and non problematic arrival. I recommend doing this. Scala is a small quiet town up in the mountains with amazing view to Ravello. Every hour you’ll hear the town’s church bells ring as well the the church bells in Ravello. It was a perfect location to get away from all the crowd during peak tourist season in July. A direct mini bus to Ravello/Amalfi went every hour from 7 AM, which made it easy to travel around and see Ravello, Amalfi, Positano and Capri. You got to see the famous must see sights but also able to relax and have peace during your vacation. Scala is the end stop of the mini bus so going to Amalfi you are guaranteed a seat, however, coming back from Amalfi can be a little hectic as the bus only have 14 or so seats, and the bus only goes once an hour to Scala. The hotel also comes with a pool which is a couple minutes stroll from the hotel, which was very much appreciated in the summer heat. I ended up spending a lot of days here as the Amalfi beach was crowded and the rocks hurt my feet. I advice to go to the pool early before 11 AM, as you might find it hard to get a sunbed later in the Uu day, I depending how many guests decides to have a pool day as well. The hotel’s location to the square/where the bus goes is 5 minutes away or less, and right outside the hotel was a small convenience store so you could get necessities such as shampoo, sunscreen, water, soda, snacks, food etc. Overall you get such a great value for your money staying here and I recommend it a lot.

The only comment or tip I would say is to contact the hotel and ask for a room at the upper level if you are traveling alone, staying for a while and will be bringing luggage. There’s no lift and so I had to carry my luggage up and down three/four floors. Same advice if you have body aches or disabilities.

It was one of the best stay we had. The hotel is beautiful with all the facilities pool, living room and specially beautiful view . And the breakfast in the morning was a treat. In afternoon time we had Clara At reception and she was a very nice friendly lady who also told us what we could see during our stay at Scala. Make sure to take the right bus from amalfi. There is a smaller shuttle bus that will take you to Scala in 25 mins but only if you have small luggage like hand carry. For bigger bags you will have to take normal big bus which will take around an hour or little more to reach Scala. The hotel is just 4 min walk from the bus station

All was good

Absolutely loved the fantastic views across the ravine to Ravello from our balcony and could even see the sea. There were great views also from the breakfast room and also the lounge and terrace. Our room was cleaned and tidied everyday and there was a good choice for breakfast. Also the staff were all friendly and helpful. The tranquility of Scala was wonderful and it's well positioned for hiking and walking.

Although we had a fridge in our room(no minibar), there was no possibility to get a drink or food after breakfast. T/coffee making facilities.in the room would be great and improve the stay.It would also be lovely if in the evening there was the possibility to have a drink on the panoramic hotel terrace rather than walking up to the sister hotel.
