The hotel is located close to the town center in easy walking distance to museums, restaurants, and sights. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Convenient overnight parking is just a block or two away. Our room was quite large and comfortable. Good breakfast.

As an urban hotel in a predominantly walking city, it is a bit challenging for those who arrive by car as we did. Fortunately, the route only requires a couple of turns to reach the hotel after entering the town. Once the car is unloaded, parking is straight ahead a couple of blocks.

We love the hotel location in the heart of Volterra, the kind and caring staff, the lovely and clean room and the delicious breakfast.

We enjoyed the giant jacuzzi-like-bathtub, however, we were not used to not having a full shower so the water got everywhere in the bathroom and we were surprised about that. We didn’t know how to dry the bathroom. The pretty decorative pillows’ buttons were falling apart, but the bed pillows were comfortable. Overall, everything was great, but next time we may need someplace with a full shower.

The hotel management/staff were attentive, interested and very friendly. Breakfast was exceptional. The room and the other facilities we used were up-to-date, clean, secure and of an excellent standard. The only downside was the lack of car park facilities at the hotel.

it would have been useful to provide two chairs in the room and free car parking at the hotel.

Very convenient location and quiet. Room had Everything I needed and was charming. Beds very comfortable and slept well. Hotel accommodated other family members which was nice. Very attentive and helpful front desk. Good in restaurant very good. A very positive experience!

Another couple of towels in bathroom- that's all I can think of!

The hotel is in the historic centre of Volterra, close by to many amazing local restaurants (I personally highly recommend La Vecchia Lira). The hotel personnel was very helpful in every respect - from providing an iron to suggesting the best sightseeing spots in the town. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a great view.

While it was truly a fun stay and good value for money, this is not a 4-star hotel. It is a small and very nice a friendly 3-star hotel.

Easy location to find just inside the city walls. Lovely room and a very good breakfast. Well placed for walking to the central area - 300yd away.

We liked it all. Just be aware that if you arrive by car, unload your bags from a nearby (pay) car park (opposite the Teatro Romano for instance), and then move your car down to the free parking (Docciola) - which staff will tell you about - and then mount the long staircase up to the town unencumbered!

We were a group of four, occupying two rooms. The hotel is excellently located, a short distance up a very slight incline to reach the Piazza and many of the city's restaurants. This was important for us as one of the party was wheelchair bound and I was the one doing the pushing :). Compared to some other hotels in the city, where their location is at the bottom of one of the many steep hills throughout the city, would have been a disaster for anyone with a wheelchair. The staff were very friendly and made us all feel welcome. Breakfast was served to the table due to the restrictions and the selection was very good and even included warm scrambled eggs. The servers were always on hand to bring additional items as needed.

Disliked, is a bit harsh, but a better knowledge of the restaurants that were open and the ones closed for the Christmas period, would have saved us some trouble when planning the evenings. The hotel is located just inside the city walls and the nearest free car park is located outside the city walls, after parking it is a decent hike through the historic font and up several flights on ancient steps.

This is an excellent hotel in the middle of Volterra. Our suit was fabulous, and we were simply impressed on arrival. The staff were very helpful and happy to help. Thanks for making our stay fabulous Hotel La Locanda.
