Best breakfast ever! Many, many choices of home made local gourmet dishes that changed every day expertly prepared by Adriana and explained every morning by host Lucca. Like nothing ever experienced anywhere before. Lucca helped us with local directions and maps and explained travel every day. He works so hard to make everything exceptional . Enjoyed having breakfast on back porch which has expansive panoramic views of valley below. Returning to watch sunset from same porch Such a comfortable place to be. Amazing location (old XV century building) with a breathtaking view on scenery over Tuscany hills. Conveniently situated just over 1km (3 min drive) outside Volterra village center. Our hosts were very helpful and efficient. Provided a lot of insights about tourist attractions in the area, even a "custom made" map with a few suggestions about day trips with very useful QR codes for an easy orientation on Googler Maps. Enjoyed a lot the breakfast with many local / homemade products.

Nothing in particular, just an abrupt staircase, but this is something that cannot be changed. After all, this building used to be an old two-story 15th-century inn.

We like everything about the hotel. The facilities are great, but what makes it special is the owner - Luca family. We arrived late, but Luca switched on the light of swimming pool for us, and let us use the plate for dinner. The breakfast is the highlight of this hotel. Luca and his wife cook everyday to ensure guests can enjoy the fresh and amazing Italian food. In addition, This is a family run hotel. You can feel the whole family tried to make you feel at home .

The pool was great as certain hotels in the area didn’t have pools, Luca, the owner was more than accommodating, taking me into Volterra free of charge. Offered different pillows options and mattress topper if needed. All the food at breakfast was top quality and locally grown.

The area of the hotel was tricky without the aide of taxis, as there were two major concerts in Volterra and all taxis were pre booked. That was no reflection on the hotel as Luca accommodated for the situation.

Luca, and his hard working staff was amazing! Always there to take care of guests needs. Breakfast was great, best we’ve had in Tuscany. Excellent location, outside Volterra walls and easy parking. Fun mix of guests who talk to each other while enjoying the great patio. Awesome old house, loving maintained, recommend!

Recommend the A rooms if you can get it, we booked too late. Our room was nice and bathroom was brand new but we would have liked a larger space (we had Room 7)

It had everything that was needed. Friendly staff. The gentleman who owns the hotel was fantastic and even drove us up to the main part of the town and back in the evening. The breakfast was fantastic. A delicious array of things to choose from. The swimming pool was perfect, great temperature and size too. The views are incredible.

The AC in my room would be quiet then loud then quiet then loud. The decor is a little dated but that didn’t take away the beauty of the place.

The owner went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. He gave us lots of ideas for places to visit within an hours drive which we did and enjoyed those places. We didn't like the 'green route' on the map he gave us as it was a touristy part of the coast and not our thing. The other routes we really interesting. The owner underlined places on the routes to visit. The breakfasts were amazing and his wife baked lots of fresh cakes to enjoy as well as the normal continental breakfast. Perfect! He even noted when we booked in it was my birthday during our stay and his wife made a cake and he came out singing happy birthday. How amazing was that!! We did a wine tasting trip that Booking.com recommended which was good. We will stay there again and take family back there!! Many thanks.

The breakfast was AMAZING!! The owners make it fresh every morning it's honestly amazing. The choices were endless with some amazing local ingredients and dishes that we wouldn't have got to try without this breakfast. His wife goes above and beyond honestly even if you just booked this to experience the breaky you won't be disappointed. The location is a little bit out of the town, we could have walked but it's abit up hill and we had a hire car so we just drove and the host told us where we can go for parking which was very handy. Upon arrival we were given SO much information from the host, we wish we had of stayed here at the beginning of our time in Tuscany because he gave us sooo much information that would have been handy earlier in our trip. The pool was nice and the rooms are basic but alll you need which includes a mini fridge. The host also provided food recommendations and there's an entire lobby of brochures, cards, maps and information at the reception so you won't be short of things to do or see. There was free parking on the property and after maybe 10pm or it could have been 11pm they close the gates to the property so it's super secure however you are given access to get back in when you like so you won't be locked out. We would definitely stay here again.

A wonderful stay! I'd give it a 5 star rating! Luga, the owner, is passionate about helping his guests get the best experience while staying at his villa. The breakfasts were amazing. A beautiful view from our room. A terrific pool to go into after a day of nearby sightseeing. Our visit exceeded our expectations and I highly recommend staying here while visiting Tuscany.

From the moment we arrived we knew we had made a perfect choice of where we would spend our next 3 nights. The location is perfect for visiting Volterra. Beautiful property with the most welcoming staff. Lucca, the owner is the perfect host. His mother, charming and warm. We arrived in the rain and he brought in our luggage for us. He gave us lots of local information and was always available to help in any way. Our room was excellent with beautiful views of the countryside. The included breakfast was spectacular and changes every dayMost choices homemade with local ingredients, some from their garden and made by Lucca’s wife. Some nights we brought in our own food and wine and he supplied glasses, dishes and anything else we needed. You could not make a better choice than to stay at Villa Rioddi.
