Very polite service throughout from check in to check out. Thoughful in loaning us futon mats for our Kagura show. Breakfast was decent.Parking is mainly at the back though there are plenty of lots. A back door to the hotel from the csrpark would be nice instead of having to walk along the driveway. We thought we had left a pouch of our memory cards behind and probably sounded a but grouchy later that evening after we had checked out when we called to enquire but the staff on the line were very patient in trying to help. Anyway we found it later on in another bag. Very short stay but can't really complain about anything.

It's a but pricey for the location but all in we think it's worth it.

Every aspect of this accommodation was impressive. The facade is very modern ad was reflected in the dining area, lobby, accommodation floors and the rooms themselves. Nature abounds in the surrounds of this picturesque town. Within walking distance to Takachiho Jinja and the Kagura performance. Best to drive to the gorge from here.

Apart from the gorge and Kagura, not much else in the town itself, however it was quaint. Breakfast staff were a little relaxed at times as they casually chatting amongst themselves in front of guests (not really to be expected in Japan)

This was a very nice stay in Takachiho. The staff was very friendly, and gave us recommendations for dinner when we checked in. They even booked a table for us, and the dinner was very good. Our hotel room was cozy, and a bit bigger than usual Japanese hotels. The bed was big and comfortable. An extra bonus was that we could borrow pillows for the Kagura theater in the evening at the nearby temple. The hotel also has a big parking lot where you can stay for free.

Stylish room with a terrace - an extremely fair price for a stay of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Egg shaped bath tub (better than the first photo in the booking site) with upscale amenities in the bathroom. It’s almost like a spa experience. Breakfast was amazing with proper coffee machine (even for ice coffee), really good toast (expensive toaster) and good selection. Front desk extremely helpful - recommended us to go for a local performance in the evening - we were offered seating cushions to bring with us to the performance. They also recommended dinner place and the beef was amazing.

Nothing My parents stayed in the regular double room - it was kind of small but still with good amenities eg drip coffee.

Frontdesk staff were super helpful and nice, they went the extra mile to make sure that we had a good experience, from providing cushions and small chairs for us to watch the Kaguraden performance, to making special restaurant reservations for us. They were extremely friendly and accommodating, and made our experience very nice. The hotel is also very beautiful and clean, and is at a very good location just minutes' walk from the shrine.

The rooms were a little bit small, it was not easy to have large luggages in the room. We travelled as a group and we had difficulty gathering in a room because of limited space. The breakfast was decent but the spread wasn't much (no fresh fruits only canned fruit) there could have been more vegetarian/vegan options available.

location was close to Takachiho Gorge (5 min drive) and the Takachiho Shrine (5 min walk/1 min drive). ideal for staying after exploring Takachiho Gorge area. new, clean and modern hotel. well decorated lobby and rooms. all rooms were reasonable distance from elevator. plenty of free parking available for guests. right on the main street. had shabu-shabu for dinner, which was good quality. breakfast was in same restaurant, fair selection. staff were polite and clear in communication.

small menu selection for dinner. pricey dinner. one of our rooms had a weird bathroom set up. shower/bathtub was in bathroom, but the basin/sink was outside in the hotel room itself. So when showering, you'd have to bring your clothes into the bathroom itself - however as the showered was separate to the bathtub, every time the shower was turned on, water sprayed the entire bathroom. This meant your clothes would get wet, as you could not hide them from the shower. This did not make sense. Our other room had a normal bathroom.

Very close to the gorge, big room, services are on point. It is worth to drive at sunrise (@5am) to the nearby viewpoint unkai (sea of clouds) at Kunimigaoka. Traditional dancing night show at Takachiho shrine was also great. Hotel provides location benefits that helps us in booking the early boat to Takachiho gorge (@ 8am the carpark is already full at the gorge so make sure to be there very early / boat tickets sold out by 9am). We would not have accomplished all these hard locations time-wise if we didn't choose to stay at this hotel which is central to all key tourist attractions.

It is a newer hotel in the small town near Takachiho Gorge. Because of the central location, we were able to go to Kunimigaoka Viewing Platform for sunrise in the early morning. It is only 5 mins drive from Takachiho Gorge. We arrived at the Gorge before most visitor and enjoyed the scenery. Breakfast is tasty with food variety.

It is a small town. Not many places for dinner. We tried to book the dinner with hotel; but they are fully booked. The hotel receptionist tried to find a place for us. He called a few places; finally find one that is available. There is a restaurant close to the hotel serves good steak; but it was closed when we were there.

The staff was fantastic -- the front desk lady spoke good English and was obviously used to dealing with international travellers. She gave helpful suggestions and even made bookings for our dinner at a lovely local restaurant. We asked for extra pillows and these were quickly brought to us. Thank you for a warm welcome to Takachiho!

The rooms were a little on the small side but this is not uncommon in Japan.

Beautifully furnished room with big amount of space available. Breakfast buffet was simple yet delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff who helped us take family photos in the lobby. Within walking distance to Takachiho Gorge so it’s a plus since parking lots are not in abundance at the gorge.

Not much eating choices nearby as most shops are closed by 5pm.
