Just a short tram ride away from stations and tourist spots. Clean for the most part, super friendly and helpful staff. Free goodies like ice cream and noodles. Lots of manga to read upstairs. Free washer, and cheap dryer, both lockable for security, and they work well, my clothes came out with no smell! Onsen and sauna are amazing.

My bathroom shower had mold in the corners and crevices of the folding door. Ventilation is poor in there so it makes sense. Their Onsen is not tattoo friendly, but I only had two small tattoos, and they gave me free patch covers for it at least. A++ for the staff.

Stayed one night on the way to Yakushima. The public bath on the top floor was very nice, and the outdoor bath is open to sky so I sat in the hot water letting the rain fall on my head. Guests get a pair of pajamas to wear around the hotel. The room comes with an incredible Japanese breakfast buffet. The washing machines on the 13th floor are free; dryers coin-operated. All the convenience store brands are within one block. (I left the bathroom door open, which blocked the hallway motion sensor.)

The counter/table area was crowded because of a giant armchair coming up against one of the beds.

The location was great, there was parking, plus a lot of free amenities. The onsen was also really nice.

The shower in the hotel room was not the cleanest, as there were some hairs from a previous guest. But overall it was a clean room. The onsen was very clean.

Great location -- right next to a book off and a lot of great food. Also close to the ferry port for Sakurajima. At different parts of the day, you can get a free item in the common area near the onsens. In the morning, a free Yakut. In the evening, a free popsicle. And at night, there's free ramen (I think cup ramen). There's parking for the hotel right behind it, ¥1000 a night. Decent room, nice Onsen area.

The outdoor onsen was a little too hot, even for the other Japanese people. It would be nice if parking was included instead of an additional fee, but I understand why that may not be available in a city.

Onsen was really excellent! Better than I thought! Room was nice and clean and matched to the price of the room.

The shower head was already quite old in the room and didn't work that well. WiFi was a bit slow.

Onsen was really nice but beware, water is very hot, 42 degrees C. There is also a cold water pool :-) The breakfast was really good. Location is quite convenient, in the middle of the shopping district, half way between the Kagoshima Chuo station and the port. The weather did not play along so we could not even see the volcano.

The rooms could be cleaner but I am being picky. The space was quite small but enough for the luggage.

The onsen is the absolutely highlight! And you are directly downtown near by the port to go To Sakurajima! The service was extraordinary! I had some questions before about the ferries and the luggage Transport to the next hotel when we arrived the very nice woman on the reception have me all the prepared informations for us! Amazing!

Very pleasant hotel with all the basic necessities and more. The onsen was quite nice and I enjoyed the little freebies (popsicles/ice cream in the evening) They also offer free ramen as a late-night snack at the restaurant which was a nice surprise. The staff graciously lent us some umbrellas as it was pouring outside. Price was okay

Communication in English (and in my broken Japanese) was somewhat difficult with the staff, but I do understand they cater mostly to domestic tourists.

There was a complementary bowl of ramen in the hotel restaurant, and there is a good katsu restaurant across the street. The parking behind the hotel is convenient. The hotel's location is convenient. We were able to walk to both the Shinkansen station and the Ferry pier.

Like any other Dormy Inn, it's good basic accommodation but not particularly interesting.

Excellent facilities and location, staff superb, made you feel at home with Free Ramen in evening, free ice cream in evening after onsen, comfortable spacious room. Forgot…loved the Hokkaido Melon jelly treat in frig as a welcome treat.
