Spacious rooms, extremely clean, hotel have lobby lounge with two fantastic coffee machines serving coffees and tea's for free. Free washing machines and free washing liquid pods. The hotel feels like a holiday home rather than a hotel.

The hotel is more than one kilometre away from kyoto station. It was a long walk. The employees in the hotel work only from 3 pm to 9 pm. Unfortunately, it was frustrating for me and my family to arrive at the hotel after a long trip and not to find anybody in the reception and had towait for more than three hours . They will never give you the room before 3 p.m., even though it was available. I was planning to give bad ratting because of that , but later I changed my mind because we really enjoyed the stay.

The hotel is tiny and cute compared to the other hotels I stayed in my 15 days Japan trip. It was a 15-20 min walk from the Kyoto station. They did have a free of charge luggage storing option in another place close to the station which was a plus. The staff were friendly and smiled whenever we met. The room was huge with all white interior which I like and it was very nicely done with a concealed kitchenette. The washroom was also interesting with 3 separate partitions with doors for bath, wash basin and wc area. They have free coffee. Also a Laundromat and vending machine in house.

The towels provided were torn with huge holes in it and seemed dirty and used with stains all over it. All the towels were same. The shampoo, conditioner, body wash smelled not so good. Although the stay was good I felt like I was staying in a restricted zone as they have a lot of rules. You'l know when you stay.

The place was very clean but to find a place to eat it was necessary to take a cab or several means of public transportation. Personnel speaks very little English or other languages: more than in most other Japanese hotels, but still having to use Google Translator for important things. However, everyone is extremely kind and helpful. We stayed in regular double rooms at first and were enthusiastic , although it was below street-level the area was so quiet and overlooked a back-street, so we never got disturbed. The expresso machine in the hall and free laundry are a definite plus for this pretty and clean hotel.

The curious thing: I needed an extra one for my back which they refused to give me, so I offered to purchase a new one, but the owner was adamant: no extra pillows. What if someone spills something on the pillow? I asked. Then you'd have to buy a new pillow but you won't get to use it anyhow. One pillow per bed ONLY. They had a special offer if you extended your stay, but when we asked to stay longer they made us check-out and check back into a different room, which was a suite and was probably used only for parties, since some pieces were broken and other were dirty, not to mention the smell of vomit we had to buy spray for to take out.

The Sakura hotel chain is really good and this place was just as good as its siblings. The mattresses were very comfortable and the toilet was conveniently separated from shower. Love the amenities (shampoo, conditioner, foam soap, towels, everything was so we'll thought). There's a room for you t get tea/coffee, sit and relax.

The twin beds were put together together, which I didn't expect considering I was traveling with a friend and stated that in the website. That wasn't an issue, just a detail. It would've been nice to be able to open he window, but that's another thing that's not actually a issue

Everything was great and suited us perfectly. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were a good size and good storage for 4 people. The beds were comfortable and bathroom facilities were clean and good use of the space. Having a kitchenette was useful for quick breakfasts or heating convenience store meals. Loved having the coffee machine in the room as well as larger machines in the lounge. Great location for exploring, a bit of a walk to Kyoto Station, but other stations are closer.

Can't find a fault

Two beds and a decent sized room at this price point is fantastic. Searching for mid-priced accommodation is difficult in Kyoto for whatever reason. (Unless you don't mind pods) Around 10min walk to Kujo Stn. And maybe 20min to Kyoto Stn. is a great convenient location. There's also a convenience store about 5min away. Hotel is tucked away from the loud and crowded streets around the Gion area. Very little traffic goes through the street. The area framboise is located at does not attract crowds in general. The coffee machine with the provided coffee pods is nice to have. There weren't many restaurants or cafés around so it helps when you leave early in the morning for Fushi Inari or something.

Some very minor things to note: Payment of accommodation tax at the counter might be surprising if you didn't read the hotel policy. Hardly a deal breaker, but the other hotels I booked did not follow this practice. Water heater can be somewhat confusing to figure out. My inexperience with their system definitely played a part in this inconvenience. Still figured it out at the end (maybe?), but do ask the staff how that works. Physical keycards are more secure but more responsibility as well. Barely something to hate.

Everything was fantastic. Larger than average rooms, large bathroom plus kitchen facility in our room, and even a balcony. Our room was spotlessly clean, as were the common areas. A lovely lounge dining area with free tea and coffee, and a laundry is next to the reception area. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful at all times. Bus and train stations are walking distance, as are convenience stores and some restaurants. I highly recommend this property.

Great price, facilities were immaculate and the room was spacious and comfortable! Staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel was situated in a residential area with nothing of interest - the nearby Family Mart was a 5 minutes walk and there were only a handful of restaurants around. Closest station was 10 minutes away but for going to attractions on the east side of Kyoto (Gion, Fushimi Inari, Kura a, ...) it made more sense to walk across the river to Tokufuji station which was 15 minutes, not a lot of fun in the summer heat...

I loved the ambience, easily located. Staff were super friendly and very patient. My journey to the hotel took so long that my arrival turned out to be several hours after past the last check-in time. They kept in contact with me the whole time and ensured that someone would be waiting for me. I was welcomed and provided with all the necessary information. There was a kitchen and kettle. Kettle is very important for me. There were toiletries, shampoo, etc. All of good quality. The bathroom was one room. However, the toilet had its own door on the opposite side, which had a door to the bathroom, which worked as a shower and a cute little bathtub. There was a little spacious balcony. Beds were comphy and nice pillows. I was there for 6nights and the staff confirmed the cleaning date upon my arrival. This was great. I also loved how each morning and evening there were different staff manningthereception. Why, because it felt more like a family.run business where everyone worked together. This gave a homely feeling. The common area has an Nespresso machine available for use 24/7. This was a treat. I would definitely come back to Framboise when again in Kyoto. Thank you so much.

I can't say I did not like anything. The place was better than I had imagined. Affordable and quiet with friendly staff.

Very nice, the staff was super friendly and helpful as well! Spacious room for two people and huge beds! I would recommend.

A little far away from most “tourist attractions”, but busses are nearby so you will manage! The walls in my room looked like something was spilled on it and never cleaned. The duvet covers have openings on the side and not on “the bottom” so you end up touching the duvet itself as you move through the night. I am not used to that and didn’t like.
