This spot was affordable and very clean. We loved the small kitchenette as we were able to make breakfast before heading out to tour the city. This particular location in Kyoto was a great base from where we ventured out to Osaka and Kobe.

I forgot to read the fine print on our reservation so was taken aback for a few seconds upon learning that I had to pay the city tax in cash at check-in. Hope this information can be made conspicuous in the future, as well as the amount if possible :)

The room was good size in comparison to most Japanese lodging places. Location is good however, there was not very much choices of restaurant. It's pretty residential. But for the room rate, it's not bad. There are nearby train stations that is 10 mins walk. It also very close to the thousand gates fushimi inari site, you can walk over there in 20 mins.

The room we stayed was super dusty, not sure if it's been empty for long or the dust was accumulated fast through the air condition. Apart from the dust issue, it was a great stay.

The value was excellent. Very large space, with kitchentte and a washer. It's basically like renting a studio so it felt very much like staying in a home instead of a hotel.

I knew this when I booked it, but its a bit ways away from the city center. On most days I took the bus to and from the hotel, but the bus took quite a while to get to the center. The walk to the hotel from the train with my luggage was a hassle. They also do not offer luggage delivery service to other hotels, so I ended up taking a taxi to the station on my last day. It only has a service to deliver luggage to the station, but that was of little use to me at check out.

We stayed there for 8 nights, and overall the stay was very comfortable. They have everything in the room, including a small kitchen. I loved the bathroom the most as it comes with a bathtub and stable water temperature and pressure. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area. There are no supermarkets nearby, but there is a Family Mart across the street, and a few super yummy restaurants nearby. It's a 12-14 minute walk to the nearest Metro and train stations. It's not too far from the attractions in Kyoto, and there are several Luup stations nearby (for bicycle and scooter rentals). The staff are super friendly and helpful. We needed to store our luggage at the reception after checkout, and it was free.

Everything was good except for a couple of issues. We found that the kitchen cabinet door was loose and fell off easily, which was quite inconvenient since we're using the kitchen a lot. Additionally, the bed frame was a little dusty and not very clean.

Stay Sakura Kyoto Fuga is a good option for families with kids to consider. The hotel is 10 minutes and 12 minutes walk from Jujo and Kujo Subway Stations respectively. These stations are close to the main Kyoto Station. The Kyoto station may be a 25 minutes walk. We walked to Fushimi Inari Taisha from the hotel which took us around 20-25 mins. The one bedroom studio apartment with the comprehensive kitchen and laundry facilities were really helpful for us. There is a Family Mart nearby, but we did our grocery purchases at the Life supermarket which is about 15 mins walk across the Kamo river. The staff were helpful and even reimbursed some amount because we checked out early. We got 2 decent sized beds, which gave us sample space to sleep.

The hotel reception has luggage storage facility if one plans to ship. However the hotel reception mentioned that they themselves do not support any luggage delivery service to another place.

Property was located about equally far from 2 JR stations on the Nara line and 1 subway station. All about a 10-15 min walk, which can be pretty exhausting after a long day. When we first arrived the bedsheets on one bed were dirty and look unchanged from the previous stay. There was hair and visible marks. Since we arrived late by the time we noticed there was no one at front desk so we didn’t get to get new sheets until the next day. The new sheets we got were very clean and we just changed it ourselves. We were on second floor, sometimes loud banging could be heard either from upstairs or from laundry room on first floor. Otherwise not many other issues. Wifi was strong, free coffee machine in lobby was nice. Also about half an hour walk to that famous shrine Fushimi Inari I think. Recommend walking over since it’s pretty nice with a bridge path over a river and cherry blossoms.

See what I liked about property.

The rooms were much more bigger than the average hotel room. Beds were comfortable and I liked how the toilet and shower were in separate rooms. The area was very quiet and peaceful. I had a very comfortable stay.

The location felt a little sketchy being placed back in an alley. Felt a little odd. There was a slight problem with checking in early, but it wasn't disruptive. We were able to check in our luggage and go to our activity. Also, I had asked NOT to be on the ground floor and that's exactly where they put us. But it wasn't bad at all.

Good value for money on this very cozy, clean and overall amazing place. The amenities are abundant and you don't realize how big of a difference they make until you have them around, from slippers to washing soap for clothes. I loved how spacious and well lit the bedroom was; very comfortable beds with 2 pillows; the toilet separated from shower is also very important.. bonus points for the laundry machine inside of the bedroom with places to hang clothes (huge time saver!), plus the view from the 4th floor (beautiful!). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in staying in this area of Kyoto.

There weren't really downsides but it would have been good to have remote controllers for the AC and the TV with translations in english. I can read in Japanese but I am aware that a lot of people would struggle with the air conditioning.

Rooms are BIG and pretty. I really liked the traditional Japanese bathroom with the water closet, sink/laundry, and toilet separated. We had enough towels and amenities. Very quiet area and a Family Mart a block away. Staff was friendly and helpful. Kyoto station is about 20 minutes walk away and an Uber to the hotel will be like 1000 yen. The Thousand Torii Gates is also about a 20 minutes walk away and it's a very nice walk. We didn't use the kitchen but there's a hot plate and a sink and dishes and a mini fridge. Great value overall.

The washing machine has a setting for washing and drying but it doesn't dry. Your clothes will stay wet and you have to hang them up to dry. Be careful. The location isn't in the heart of things for tourists and you have to walk 10 minutes to catch a bus/train to take you to the tourist attractions but it's doable.

Nice size Apartment. We had 2 single beds and both very comfy. The apartment was clean and there was a free cleaning after 3 days( we stayed 5) We liked the free coffe at the reception. Very good value for money . Family mart in front of it

The location is not exactly central and there is nothing noticeable at walking distance. The area is pretty much suburban so to walk there is not the best. Check in is at 3PM. If you get there early no one will be there. So relax with the free coffe they offer
