All the staff are really nice and attentive, really helpful and accommodating if possible. The place is clean, spacious and quiet at all times, it's located in a great area, near the subway station, busses, and lots of stores and restaurants around. The rooms are comfortable and the bed space is a lot bigger than it looked in the pictures, it was a really nice stay, would have stayed even longer if they hadn't been sold out. They received my luggage from the airport and when I left they helped me to get a taxi with all my suitcases, I completely recommend this hostel, I miss it already! ❤

This is a guesthouse that takes "guest" and "house" seriously. The staff treats the inhabitants as guests in their home, and really kind of expects them to return the favor. They go to some effort to teach you how to politely fit in (with a little cheat sheet of the important phrases!) I rented the private tatami room, with a futon, and a view over the rooftops of the mountain after which the guesthouse is named, as well as a small balcony. The house is clean, quiet, and well-equipped, with kitchen, library, and cafe. There's a major bus stop two blocks away, at the corner of the Kyoto University campus, and two train lines ten minutes walk down the street. The local shopping area has multiple good restaurants and bars, as well as a couple of supermarkets, a 7-11, and a big drugstore.

Facilities and furnitures were all very clean. Saw them cleaning it daily which made my stay very comfortable. As not a lot of guests were around, I was able to make myself comfortable in the common area, utilising the space and quietness for reading or browsing the web.
Walls were pretty thin but reminders are clearly display to remind guests to lower their volume at night. Thus, not much of a problem.

Perfect location near Demachyanagi station. Good for traveling by Keihan electric railway. From Osaka to Kyoto, and transfer to Kurama and Hieizan line. Due to Kyoto university is around, there are supermarket, convenient store, restaurants and bars near by. Dormitory bed is comfortable with curtains. Anything you need can be found in the lobby.
Nothing about the hostel. Just one of my roommate snoring and closing the door loudly. It was really annoying. But luckily only one in four nights I need to stay with her.

Super friendly owners and spoke English. They had international adapters and explained how to get my bus the next morning. The place is very clean and feels as if it is cleaned constantly - shower and toilet looks fresh every time using them. During my stay all the other people were very quiet and respectful and I had a good rest here.
The guest house is very close to the bus stop, however, not much going on around in the area- had to walk 10-15mins for dinner and breakfast.

Everything is very clean and very friendly host. Close to the bus station. It shows the Japanese life that you can't see much in the hotel. The price is not high. Warm energy, I liked everything. Japanese culture, order, Japanese food and great respect for each other are amazing
Do not enter or leave between 00:00 and 06:00

This is such a beautiful location! The building itself is quite pretty, and I love how well thought-out the facilities are. The rooms are cool and comfortable, and the showers and toilets are clean. The staff are incredibly friendly and kind, and made me feel welcomed as soon as I came in.
There was nothing that I didn't really like about the location since I was only there for a night. It is not too far away from Demachiyanagi station, but you really do have to keep your eyes open for the right corner to turn into. That is really the only thing I can say!

this guesthouse is very cosy yet very clean and organized, spacious and welcoming. I really appreciated the living room space with books (i only stayed one night so i did not use the kitchen except for tea, but otherwise it’s a great addition to be able to cook!). they also have a restaurant and it all feels very homey yet seamlessly organized. A bus stop is only a couple minutes away.

Highly recommended. Very clean and comfortable place to stay, suitable for long or short term, single or family. The hosts are friendly and helpful. The restaurant on the first floor is also great, you don't have to walk away to have a nice Japanese style breakfast. definitely want to visit again.

Clean and nearby Kyoto University
In the shared room with the bunk beds other guests would wake up in the middle of the night to go to toilet or something, turn the light on, slam the door open and leave it like that, waking up everyone with all that noise and the cold weather.
