HOTEL THE POINT Kiyomizu Gojo

It was clean and relative close to the Kyoto station, like 16 min walk, but bus station also 5 min walk. Also some popular tourist spots are not too far for example the Imperial Palace.Kiyomizu-dera or some temples and shrines. The receptionist was kind and helpful.

The walls are thin, and sometimes the neighbours were smashing something like the door of furniture or the wall itself with something, it was sometimes very loud and annoying in the night... The bathtube is typical small Japanese one, I am skinny guy and even for me it felt small just using it for showering... Can't imagine how a big guy could use it. The breakfast is very simple and not much just served in box, small meat, cheese and bread pieces, I am small eater so for me it was simple day starter meal nothing more, if you like big breakfast then don't choose the breakfast option.

It's hard to say anything less good about Japan or the Japanese, such is the correct and respectful way in which they always talk to us. The hotel is good, the rooms are cozy and in good condition. It is well located and is between Kyoto Station and Gion, which in my view is very well located.

The only thing I have to say that I didn't like is the fact that the hotel didn't store our bags before check-in time. This, for those who arrive in Kyoto in the morning and want to enjoy the rest of the day, causes enormous inconvenience. There is the possibility of leaving your bags in a locker, for example, at Kyoto station, but in addition to being paid, it can be quite far from where you are spending the rest of the day. Other than that it was a pleasure to have stayed at the hotel, extremely clean and quiet.

Spacious and clean room. it was quiet too. I hardly saw anyone the whole time. Located near to Kiyomizu-dera and there's a bus stop near Shosei-en garden from where you can go to Kinkaku-ji. Other than Kinkaku-ji and Arashima, I was able to walk everywhere - Fushimi Inari shrine, Gion, Kyoto Tower etc. There's a convenience store nearby as well as a supermarket called Fresco.

I know it is self catering, but I wish there was a couple of tea bags and coffee sachets so I could make a drink after I check in.

The Point is located down the street leading up to Kiyomizu-dera, and is also 10 minutes by foot from the Kyoto station – which makes it both pretty and practical if you plan to do some excursions. The washing machine, fridge and kettle are very welcome during a long trip where this amenities help to feel a bit more "homy". The beds were comfortable.

The room is fine but also quite rudimentary – let's say it goes right to "the point". Apart from the moment of check-in we never met anyone at the reception – which was a bit of a shame for the Aoi Matsuri since the host who recommended told us to go the day of arrival wasn't there to warn us it was cancelled for bad weather on the day itself.

Unfortunately they don't store the luggage before or after check-out.

My friend and i like the fact that it is in the quiet part of Kyoto. Theres a non JR train station nearby. And 2 Family Marts right around the main road. There's also a Mcdonalds along that main road. But most interestingly, opposite Mcdonalds you can find a wonderful takoyaki shop.

The hotel reception didn't mention to us on how the room service was to be done. And since we stayed for a period of 4 days, we had to be mindful of our own trash as we were unsure if there was a main trash collection area in the lobby.

As a regular traveler it is a pleasure to stay in such a comfortable home away from home. An excellent location, perfect for the first blooms along the river walk and local temples or just a relaxed stroll through the backstreets. Having a kitchen and washing machine, plus a lovely deep bath we were in heaven! Last - but not least, we enjoyed conversing with the management. Kazu is very knowledgeable about the needs of the traveller and he enjoys ensuring his guests are comfortable. I only hope there is room at the inn next time we visit. This hotel will become very popular I am sure!

No cupboard, but it was ok with hanging stand It was available washing machine top door with dryer, but it couldnt dryer at all as usual so we need to drying our clothes inside the room because no balcone

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there were small amenities left out to be taken when needed. The location was also really nice, close to a metro station as well as walking distance to central Kyoto. The room was both clean and comfortable. The price for what you get is also really great.

The hotel is located closely to the Keihan Shichijo Station, which is convenient. There are several restaurants and convenience stores around the hotel, and it is also not too far from sight seeing spots. The main advantage of the hotel is the price! You can a clean and comfortable room with a small kitchen at a reasonable price. So it is a good place to stay for several nights, and you can prepare your own meals to save some money. Notice that the hotel does not clean your room, only after check-out they clean your room once.
