The place is more of a ryokan style w/ serene riverfront. Good for family w/ most amenities available. The front desk Eric & Vincent are awesome & very accommodating. Place near Gion district and 17 -20 mins walk to Nishiki market.

It’s a bit of 20-25 mins walk from kyoto station . If you have luggage better take a taxi -1,200-1500 yen or bus.

Front desk hosts are great! They are extremely helpful and super pleasant. Alex made sure we know how to get help if needed especially at night when there’s no English speaking staff at the front desk. Yuya and Dani saved us from missing our scheduled tour. The first taxi that we were waiting for didn’t come and my family’s getting panicky. They helped us get another taxi and we got to our tour’s meeting place just on time! So grateful for them. Spacious property for four people. It can accommodate 2 more. We didn’t cook but there are basic cooking utensils provided and front desk has seasonings. Love the river view. If it’s not that chilly I would have stayed at the patio longer to see the sun rise and just people watch. Joggers and people walking their dog by the river as early as 4 am. Heater works great. There’s also air purifier. Love that there’s a washing machine and that we hang out clothes to dry with the drying rack provided. Enough towels are in the room during check in. They have towels near the front desk that you can grab and there’s a hamper to put in the dirty ones. There are towels to grab if you need new ones. There’s no cleaning staff on our 4 days stay. We didn’t mind since we’re mostly out and not need any cleaning or emptying garbage. Yes you have to dispose your own garbage if it gets full before you check out. There are garbage bins on the corner. Comforters are great, pillows are not the fluffy ones.

Had the pleasure of staying at this hotel during my travels to Kyoto, and I was thoroughly impressed with what it had to offer. The location is outstanding, nestled near Kawaramachi Shijo. The area surrounding the hotel is remarkably quiet, providing a peaceful retreat after a day of exploration. Additionally, the kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped, boasting a complete set of tools that made cooking a breeze. What stood out to me was the thoughtful provision of various condiments like salt and pepper at the front desk, which significantly enhanced the cooking experience. The staff at the front desk were nothing short of kind and helpful, making my stay even more pleasant. A particular highlight of the hotel is the Kamogawa Riverview. The view from the balcony, overlooking the serene Kamogawa, is truly a marvel, offering a tranquil space to relax and reflect on the day's adventures.

However, there was a minor drawback that I noticed during my stay. The sound insulation between the floors seems to be lacking, as I could occasionally hear the footsteps from the room above mine. This was a slight annoyance, especially during quiet evenings. Despite this, the overall experience at the hotel was exceptional, and the positives far outweighed this minor inconvenience.

This is the third time we've been in Kyoto and the first time staying at this aparthotel. Room 302 offered beautiful views of the Kamogawa river and served as a perfect respite after a long day of sightseeing. The location is perfect - along a quiet street next to the river, and within walkable distance to many local eateries, convenience stores, supermarkets, malls, and fast food restaurants such as Mos Burger (must try!), Mcdonald's to satisfy your little ones. The walk to Kyoto Station is about 25 mins and old town area around Kiyomizu-dera is a leisurely 15 mins walk away. The staff here are fantastic, especially Alex, who went the extra mile to message us when our luggage was picked up by the forwarding company. Best service staff we've encountered in Japan!

Nothing really, but if we were to really nitpick, sofa in the room could be updated/refurbished. :)

The staff are fantastic! Alex and Ishari were so nice, helpful, welcoming. They made us really at home and comfortable. We also felt like they were excellent ambassadors for Kyoto and the property. I loved the location right on a quiet little street. Close to the Kamo River, Higashiyama, several convenience stores. Having a washing machine, a couch, a nice kitchen table, a separate bedroom and the “tatami” room made it comfortable for our family of 3 adults. The little balcony was nice, the blinds, air conditioning, all great. The elevator was great, the exterior was pretty.

Hard to find anything not to like. Maybe the early morning cleaning activity overhead was annoying.

Our apartment was ideal for our self-curated and busy trip to Kyoto. The location was fantastic, with several sightseeing and shopping areas within walking distance and reasonably close to Kyoto station as well. The facilities were not fancy but were functional and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We also felt our stay was great value.

As some have mentioned in other reviews, the bed was a little hard, but no harder than beds in some other Japanese hotels we visited. We were tired enough each evening that it did not prevent us from getting a restful sleep. We tried one evening to change the TV language to English so we could sign into Netflix, but eventually gave up. Not a big deal, but since the TV was there it would have been nice to be able to make use of it.

The receptionist, Alex, was absolutely exceptional.I travel extensively around the world since decades and rarely have i encountered such a nice ,helpful and knowledgeable reception officer. The room itself was very large for Japanese standarts and we had all amenities required. The place is actually more of an appartment then a hotel, except it has a (very efficient) front desk. The location was perfect, with a 10 minutes stroll to Gion ( historical district) and the shopping area ( Nishiki market). Plenty of restaurants and convenience stores around.

The bed was extremely small for 2 poeple and the matress was hard as a wooden plank. I woke up every morning with back pain. This is the only negative point at this otherwise nice property, but if you are sensitive to a good sleep, it is a point to consider.

This place was beautiful. It's a small hotel that is centrally located to everything. I like walking so we loved that everything we wanted to see was at a walking distance. There is a convenience store across the street just in case you need or want drinks or food. The area is beautiful, and the room has a living room, kitchen, and you can easily sleep around 4-6 people. They have a TV with Netflix, and you can connect all your appliances without an adapter. The WIFI is really good too. For my stay it was my Wife, 2-Year-Old Daughter and me. The A/C works wonders, we visited in the Summer, and it was so hot outside, but it was perfect inside. It was way better than what it is worth.

This was the best place we stayed during our two week trip. We stayed for four nights in unit 301 with a river view. Very spacious for three of us. My parents were also in town, so they were able to visit us one day for breakfast and hang out. Kitchenette was functional and we used it every day. Location was excellent. We walked to Kiyomizu-dera, Gion, and the main shopping area. Two organic groceries within 17 min walk and several convenience store/restaurants within 5 min walk. Easy access to other sites via kiyomizu-gojo subway/train station. Alex at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.

It isn’t easily accessible via train (multiple train changes) from Kyoto Station, but we had our luggage so took a 10 min taxi ride for about Y1000 without traffic or take the bus if you don’t have much luggage/people. There is another Kyoraku in Kyoto, so make sure to double check with the taxi driver if you are going to the right place.

Alex at reception was a joy. We wanted to adopt him as we have grown-up sons like him already. So helpful, polite and respectful. His employers and his parents should be very proud of him, as he should be of himself. Room facilities were excellent. Everything to hand. Deep bath was a greatly-appreciated luxury. Location superb - within easy walking distance of numerous sights, eating places, shops etc etc. View over the water was lovely.

Nothing. All perfect.
