Extremely friendly and helpful during check in. The room is actually a studio unit with kitchenette, microwave, kettle and fridge. The room is also spacious and enough for 3 persons. I particularly like the balcony though I never open it as it was too cold but it made the room very bright.
Room service is not available, would be good if a simple room make up can be done. Location is not the best, using bus is the best to reach the guest house. JR and Subway is quite far by walk.

I enjoyed staying at Sakura Guest Home during my visit to Kyoto, and I must say it was an excellent choice. One of the standout features of this hostel was the presence of an elevator, which made moving around the building and accessing my room a breeze. Speaking of the room, I was pleasantly surprised by its spaciousness and the comfort of the beds provided. The cleanliness of the room was also commendable, contributing to a pleasant stay. Upon arrival, the receptionist warmly greeted me and provided me with a towel, considering it was raining during my check-in time. This thoughtful gesture demonstrated the exceptional hospitality and attentiveness of the staff at Sakura Guest Home. One of the significant advantages of this hostel is its affordability. With competitive prices, Sakura Guest Home offers excellent value for money, making it an ideal choice for budget-conscious travelers. Whether you're a solo traveler, a group of friends, a couple, or a family, this hostel caters to a diverse range of guests. It provides a comfortable and enjoyable stay for everyone. The location of Sakura Guest Home is also worth mentioning. It is conveniently situated near a cafe, allowing guests to enjoy a quick bite or a relaxing cup of coffee without venturing too far. Additionally, the hostel's proximity to the main road means plenty of restaurants are nearby, providing various dining options to suit different tastes and preferences. Overall, I highly recommend Sakura Guest Home as an excellent accommodation option in Kyoto. From its comfortable rooms and friendly staff to its affordable prices and convenient location, this hostel truly has it all. Whether traveling alone or with companions, Sakura Guest Home offers a delightful experience to enhance your visit to Kyoto.

it was super luminous, great views, the staff was super friendly and helpful. the room has basically all what you need for sleeping comfortable and go to see the city. I think this area is more local. It has supermarket close by, Daiso and bus stops around the location.
If you work online, the internet here is not very good so be aware of that. I kinda had to go to the kitchen to work on top of the microwave bc the connection would work just a bit better. as I said, this area is local, walking to the center of Kyoto takes almost an hour unless you want to go by bus. so just that. WiFi and a bit far from the center. the rest is all good.

It is a 5-min walk to the nearest bus stop going to Kyoto station. Not too crowded and very relaxed place. It is a guest house but we booked a private room with kitchen, bath and toilet. The room was big, probably the biggest room I've ever been to. They also offer free water to the guests. The lady at the front desk whom I assume was the owner was very accomodating to us. She also owns two cute dogs that were very friendly and that's a plus for me.

Very friendly staff, the room was decent and well-appointed, one of the three beds was a futon, which was averagely comfortable but did the job. We were ablebto use their laundry facilities free of charge and they were very quick. Location was decent, not far from a good bus link from the station.
Nothing really. The futon was not as comfortable as I had hoped but it was OK. The beds were great and it was a good room and good value.

It was insanely cheap, the room had a sink and dining utensils, quite old but relatively clean. Very quiet too. Check-in and check-out was quick and we weren't charged Kyoto's accomodation tax.
The location isn't too bad but the walk was like 15 minutes away to the nearest station, it's literally an apartment in between a neighborhood. The tv was very small like it's 19 inches. The photos didn't quite match up to the room.

I really enjoyed time for stay. Staff are nice good environment and definitely great as money. One station to get Kyoto Station. Im sure I'd like to come back again ! My favourite point was clean bath towel were free for use :) also you can change middle of stay if you need. Japanese bath towel is medium size for European or other western people so could be slightly smaller than you think. Shampoo and conditioner body soap also there. There is great facility :) . I stayed in 4 of us. So I thought it could be very tight in the room but big enough :) Side of the bed you can charge your phone etc. Combinience store near by.
If I can pointed out and say, the bathroom are very small. Even I am a Japanese. So if you want relax at bath time it's could be difficult. I'm 23-24 BMI and I felt tight for move around when I was having shower. It's clean unit bath. One more things, it's not about this hostel. This hostel was awesome. 8 out of 10 to me. But there just started city tax 200yen/day. We were staying with 4people for 3 nights so 2400yen paid extra at front desk. I heard that's for everywhere in Kyoto and new things. I never knew that as I visiting here since I were child. So just for share.

A partly refurbished guest house in a residential area. There is a local bus to the railway station from the corner. The nearest JR railway stop is about 10-12 minutes walk. There some supermarkets and local restaurants nearby. Friendly staff. Big room with own kitchen.
Some of the facilites was a bit old style but all worked fine.

The bed were really comfotable and there was a little balcony. Overall it was very comfy, non very large, but we didn't need much space so it was perfect. Staff was lovely and very nice with us! Totally recommend.
Position is not too far away but still, not in the citycenter. You have to consider at least 30 minutes to go anywhere. Totally acceptable anyway it was not such a burden.

Although we arrived super late at night we could check in, because the staff left us a note with explanation, very thoughtful and kind. The room was big and nice
The bathroom was pretty small and not the most comfortable, could be better, but it was fine. The beds were really really soft, if you prefer harder materaces, it can be a slight problem for you
