This place was incredible! Couldn't ask for more, the rooms were big, the beds were comfy, the bathrooms were great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and very clean and modern. Also the price was very reasonable for what we got. We kept thinking wow I can't believe we could afford this place since it was cheaper than some hostel's we stayed at in Tokyo. Also the roof terrace was beautiful ❤️ and there are 24hr vending machines downstairs with drinks, snacks, ice cream and beer which we used all the time. Also the room had a large TV with YouTube and a ton of info about the hotel. Like there's a channel that shows which washing machines are available and how long they have left til they're finished which was super useful Also it would play these bgm tracks that we thought were really funny.

The only thing was we couldn't use the public bath because they don't allow tattoos, which was disappointing because we didn't see this information anywhere but the private bathroom in the hotel room still had a very large bathing room and a very big deep tub so that worked for us.

Clean, good space and very friendly staff. Perfect location just 200 meters from JR local train station, on the same line as the stations close to Bamboo Forest, Golden Temple and the Kyocera Sanga Stadium. Also just one (3 min) stop from Kyoto Station. Quiet area. First two floors of the building have a small shopping mall with restaurants.

Worth noting is that since its a less intense area of Kyoto theres is not a wide range of ”open late” restaurants (including the ones at level 1) around the hotel. If you arrive later than 21,00 you might have to trust the 7/11 next door for your evening snack.

Location is great. Walk outside and the JR station is there to take you where you need to go.

Had a more traditional Japanese breakfast. Which was nice. Though when you have kids, they would only eat the pancakes and sausages. So pretty much paid $30 for my kid to have 3 pancakes.

The hot tub and the staff were top notch. I really loved that they were so accommodating and kind, always willing to explain and when it came to language barriers, extra measures were taken so that both parties understood each other. The hot tub featured 3 tubs, 2 heated and one cold, along with a sauna room. The locker and shower facilities were great and unexpectantly had a great time.

I thought the breakfast was alright. Nothing too spectacular for the money. However, i do appreciate the range of selection that they offer. It is indeed a fair price but I would rather go to a local place for a lower cost and a better experience overall. I also did have a little stomachache after eating but that could be just due to my weak stomach. Overall the experience was good at the breakfast buffet but it was more of a one time thing.

We stayed here for 7 days, 6 nights in Kyoto. We had a delayed flight on what was supposed to be our first night so we arrived in the morning and were very tired but checking in was a breeze. The facilities are topnotch, very clean and well-appointed. We loved the onsen and went there to recharge every night. I liked the slippers and yukata and toiletries. We were travelling with my 82 year-old mother-in-law - who worked for a famous hotel chain for more than a decade - and Hotel Emion Kyoto met her standards. The restaurants in the second floor are good - we tried the sushi and the tempura restos. There's a good burger place nearby as well as a boulangerie and Starbucks so we always got our breakfast there. The Umekoji-Kyotonishi train station (JR Sagano/San-in Line) is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Over all, highly recommended.

None.

Our family absolutely loved staying at this hotel! Really good value for an excellent experience. The location is great for getting around Kyoto and doing day trips to nearby cities (Osaka, Nara…), since it’s located right by a JR train station and only one stop away from the main Kyoto train station. If you have one of the Japan Rail Passes (like we did) this makes it very convenient and economic for getting around. The hotel has a refined and above average interior decoration design: the color palette, fabric choices and balance between contemporary style with traditional references are beautifully done. The rooms are large for Japanese standards and come with the loveliest kimono style pyjama sets to wear while relaxing in your room. Breakfast is great with a large selection of both Western and Japanese foods. In the evening you can enjoy the in hotel exclusive to guests onsen hot baths and sauna - a really great way to relax and recuperate after a day of sightseeing! We went every evening. There are also several in hotel restaurants and very nearby food choices. For families with kids there’s a great park just a couple minutes away, as well as the Kyoto Railway museum right beside! Highly recommended and we will definitely stay again next time we’re in Kyoto.

First of all the location was great. It is located only 3 minutes from a JR station, which is itself 1 station away from the central Kyoto station. There is even a walkway that connects the station to the hotel building. The hotel is new and very well maintained. Our room was of decent size, very clean, the layout excellently designed, and we had everything we need to make our stay comfortable. Large bathroom with a bathtub. Strong hot water. Drains well. There is a public hot bath in the hotel, but I could not use it due to the fact that I have tattoos, so cannot comment. Oh, and the breakfast was great as well with many choices.

The wait for washing machines was quite a pain. Wifi signal in our room was weak, sometimes my laptop couldn’t connect at all.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is new and very clean. The room is spacious for 3 of us. The breakfast is not bad too. There is microwave and ice cube station in every floor. Additional point is that the hotel is next to the Kyoto Fish/Seafood Market where you can see the fish bidding took place. I would choose this hotel again if I visit Kyoto.

They provided many amenities, except for hand lotion. So, it will be great if they could include this. Another point to consider, is that they should let the guest decide whether to have the towel washed or use again as part of our environmentally friendly effort.

Family rooms was very spacious and extremely comfortable. The rooms were also very clean. The bathroom has so many toiletries which was perfect. Fantastic location, very close to the train which was great with kids. We also loved that each floor has access to a microwave and ice machine. Both came in super handy for meals and cooling drinks in the summer heat. There is also a 7/11 downstairs with so many cheap but delicious food options. Our kids loved it. There is a coin laundry available for guest to use which was handy after a few days stay as well as some vending machines with snacks and drinks.

The laundry was super busy and the machines were not laundromat professional ones so washes took very long and the dryers did not keep up with larger loads of laundry. But honestly how many hotels even give you this option so it’s not a massive negative.

Everything! It was one stop away from Kyoto Station so it was very close to everything. It's literally connected to the station by a bridge so its about 2 minutes away. There were also several restaurants, bus stops, and a convenience store near by. It felt very safe walking at all hours. The staff was so nice and friendly. The hotel is very clean and the ammenities were great!! It honestly exceeded our expectations, and with my family of 4 staying in about 5 other cities in Asia this is still one of our favorites. There were also cutes shops and restaurants inside the hotel. The room was also plenty big for 4 adults.

nothing.
