Great modern design, very clean. Room very functional and the bathroom is quite generous. Laundry facilities are available, and the staff was very friendly at all times.
Room could be slightly bigger to allow for easier packing/unpacking

I have had the pleasure of staying at several Stay Sakura locations and have consistently enjoyed my experiences. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms, while small, are comfortable. I particularly appreciate the separate bathroom and shower, as well as the kitchenette. The locations are also very convenient, with close proximity to train stations, bus stops, and local shopping streets like Sanjo, which offer a great opportunity to explore the local shops.
This Stay Sakura is slightly smaller in size compared to others, but it remains an excellent accommodation choice.

Staff is nice when checking in. Free coffee and tea at lobby. Provide luggage storage after checkout. Close to bus station and Family Mart
Expected to have at least a small table & chair with this room size of 22 sq.m. Other hotels with this size do have table/chair. Provided cooking facility but without a place to sit and eat is a misfortune. cooking bench is also small, no minimum space for 2 plates of food. You have to hold the plate all the way eating when only sitting on the bed. Although the bedding is comfortable we found a bunch of hair at the edge of bed heading under pillows. Fridge is not cold enough even for milk drinks in summer time of 38 C outside. Image what a situation for walking 15 min to hotel with 2 luggages when you cannot squeeze luggages into bus.

Sakura Kyoto is a fantastic little hotel in an excellent location as it is only a 5 minute walk to the train station and on the bus route which will take you directly to the best restaurant and bar areas in Kyoto. There is a seven11 15 meters from the hotel, a pharmacy across the road and a shopping arcade which has some fantastic dining. The hotel is tucked away down a side street so is very quite and private. It has a complimentary laundry room and in the foyer you will find many useful guide books to help you plan your days. This hotel is excellent value for money and very nicely styled. I would most definitely stay here again.

Although quite compact, the room+kitchen were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with induction stove, microwave and kettle. We stayed for 6 nights and the whole staff was polite and very helpful. The common area had a dining table and coffee/tea machine that we used for our meals. Very nice coffee! The bus stop and Nijo JR station both are a short walk and have direct connections to many of the sights. 7/11 and supermarkets are also just around the corner. Would definitely recommend this place!
There was not much space between the bed and the kitchen but small rooms seems to be quite common in Japan. Entrance and bathroom was spacious enough though.

The hotel is very charming and modelled after the traditional Japanese style. The rooms are a bit small but there is everything you need including a small kitchenette with a microwave and kettle. There are enough towels in your room for the duration of the stay but you can get additional towels from the staff for 150 yen. Towels don't get switched during your stay! There are a lot of restaurants nearby as well as two convenience stores.
The rooms are only cleaned once a week, which is not a major problem but a bit inconvenient if you stay for a few days. The location is not close to any major sights but there is a bus stop 3min walk from the hotel and a train station about 10min away.

What a surprise! This room was much better than I had originally expected. The bed was huge, and the room was much bigger with a separate toilet to the rest of the bathroom. The genkan area was also bigger and they had space for coats etc. The bathroom was big and comfortable, though it was the traditional wet-room style of bathroom (just fyi). We had everything we needed in the room which was nicely decorated. The hotel itself was nicely styled, has a coin operated laundry, and is super close to a station. We also used the guest services when we first got to Kyoto to have our bags delivered to our room so we didn't have to lug them the entire way to the hotel from Kyoto Station. The staff were very helpful and informative. The space is quiet and relaxing. Genuinely enjoyed our stay!
Nothing, it was lovely!

Really lovely little hotel in Kyoto. It's super easy to get to the two closest stations - Nijo and Omiya. I think it took us about 15 mins from Kyoto Station to Nijo to the hotel, with all our suitcases and bags so we were very pleased Most days we walked or got the bus East to Nichiki Market et al. We were able to leave our luggage in the hotel after we checked out and picked it up at 1300.
The ONLY negative was that we could only use one towel per person for our entire stay. It said in the little information book that we would be charged for additional towels, even though they were already in the room. Oh, and we had to pay a hotel tax of 100yen per person per night so ours was 2400yen.

Clean, cosy, and cute room. The location was great as there is a bus stop right next to the hotel that will take you directly to Kyoto Station and almost all famous temples and districts in the city.
I wish each room had an iron. Each time I needed to iron my clothes, I had to go all the way to reception. They also only lend their iron for 1 hour so you don't get much time to use it.

Location was perfect: not in a touristy corner of the city, still good connection by public transit to everything in the city. My overall fourth time in Kyoto, I didn’t need to stay very close to Gion or other crowded areas. The guesthouse doesn’t offer breakfast or restaurant, but there are enough options in walking distance. Since it is not a super touristy corner, there isn’t a Starbucks or any of the other international brands around the corner, but rather Japanese brands or - even better - independent Japanese coffee shops and restaurants. Room was perfect for one person. Staff was very friendly, although we didn’t have a lot of interaction. Communication beforehand was top notch, as I had to send my luggage to the hotel and they were extremely helpful. I would come again.
It wasn’t always perfectly quiet, could hear sound from the street and some other guests once in a while.
