The hotel interior is beautiful and always smelt nice. Public facilities were always clean. The staff were very nice and super helpful ( I had a situation where I need something from the pharmacy and they wrote me a note to give to the pharmacist, which I really appreciated). I loved the decor of the room. The shower was really nice with large amenities that smelt nice (Body wash, conditioner and shampoo. Toothbrush and mini toothpaste were provided in the room. The room had a hanging area for clothes. Toilet was heated every morning haha, I felt like a queen lol. The hotel is situated right across from Nijo Station, which houses your usual 7 Eleven, KFC and local restaurants. Had an amazing Salmon sandwich from ‘Kyoto Sizuya’ - Twice haha. There are a lot of restaurants close by. Try Sanjo-Kai market for tasty food. Nijo castle is close by (15 mins walk) as well as other landmarks by public transport. All in all I would stay here again, as it was easy getting around, the staff were friendly, the room was big (for Japan) and I could easily connect to Netflix haha. Also the Wi-Fi was good. Thank you Park Royal for a lovely stay! I’ll definitely stay here again if I return to Kyoto!

The bed was quite firm, firmer than I’m use to, but that’s personal preference. I thought I was meant to have a view, but I had a view of the parking lot hahah. In hindsight, that’s reason why I had no issues sleeping, as it was quiet.

1)I was here Best part its just opposite Metro station, when you come & get down at Kyoto ( Do not take Bus or any Taxi just take metro from kyoto to Nijo metro Station I think its just one stop away) I took Bus :( 2) There non alcoholic drinks Coffee machine, ice machine , water bottle which you can take from the Reception itself whenever you come down from your Room all Free 3) One once there was a staff with specs whi told us we already gave you 2 -3 water bottles & can't give more that was rude 4) Morning Breakfast is Great 5) Just at the station you will get 7/11 convenience store , there some good entry like dinner options just close the Hotel.

Room size is good for 3. Rail station is just opposite. Onsen is a plus.

Was given a room with frosted window, no view at all. No foreign TV channels.

Very well located across the road from Nijo Station and the Tozai Subway Line and within easy walking of Nijo Castle and the Imperial Palace. Our room was very comfortable (we stayed for seven nights). We had breakfast included, however, breakfast offerings are somewhat limited. I loved the dark interior design.

The strictly enforced prohibition on consuming food purchased from outside of the hotel in the lounge area. In our case, we just wanted to eat a pastry we had bought with a coffee which we obtained free from the hotel’s coffee machine in the lounge area. We just wanted to sit on the nice lounges rather than eat and drink on our bed (no lounge in the room). But it was not to be.

I love this hotel. I stayed in this hotel last year and the second time around was just as great as the first time! The staff are very friendly and helpful. I wanted to change my room, as it was close to the elevators (people talking loudly at night) and next to the main road. They changed my room (luckily the same room type was available) the same day and moved my bags to the new room. The hotel is a 20 mins walk to Nijo Castle. Nijo JR station is just 1 min walk away. Lots of good restaurant around! 7/11 & Lawsons are nearby. Just a great hotel and location overall.

The hotel lobby is quite cool and offer free unlimited coffee along with a range of other drinks. The room is equipped with standard stuff, beds are comfortable, and the staff clean your room every day. The location is quite Okay, a few bus stop to the busy central area and a metro station right across the hotel. (In Kyoto the public transportation are not the best though, quite slow, some lines are very busy). There is a big supermarket and some nice restaurant nearby. You can self check-in and check-out, quite efficient.

It is not a criticism of the hotel, simply my feeling while staying there. Too many Chinese tourists in the hotel, sometimes they are very loud in the lobby and make some area dirty, for example leaving empty water bottle or instant noodle bawl outside the hotel lobby (Japan has very few trash bin in public). As I Chinese national myself, I feel like tourists that are not respect local rules, or hygiene standard are total buzzkill.

The facilities were super modern and clean - the shower was to die for. Self check in and out was easy to navigate with help from staff if any issues came up. Housekeeping was also amazing, and I loved the fresh pyjamas every day.

While the hotel is conveniently located opposite a station, it is far away from most major tourist destinations we wanted to visit. Not a huge deal, but I'd probably choose a more conveniently located place next time. Air con didn't work great, and there was little to no ventilation in the rooms, which was a bit difficult seeing as the weather was at peak humidity. Corridors were also really noisy whenever people walked by, and there seemed to be a lot of children playing/yelling in them.

The location of this property was fantastic just steps away from Nijo Station. Nijo-jo Castle and some great dining options were also within an easy walking distance. It was a great home base from which to explore Kyoto via train, bus, or on foot depending on the destination. We had easy access not only to the Castle but also Genko-an Temple (via bus) and Fushimi Inari Taisha (by train) as well as Gion and Kenninji Temple. The hotel also has a fun amenity bar with special face masks and products to treat your skin after a long day of sight seeing.

Even though we entered our group as a party of 4 into Booking, this room only slept 3 comfortably. Luckily one of our kids is still small enough to share (BARELY) but be aware the max number of people per room is likely 3. The wallpaper in the bathroom is slightly worn but overall the property is in good shape.

The cleaning has to be improved a bit . When we arrived , carpet hasn’t been vacuumed . The next day when we returned to the room . Same situation and our coffee mugs or glasses weren’t being cleaned at all. In General , I think carpet wasn’t a good idea at all. it does smell a little bit and the Walls in our room have quite a lot of stains , all together r not giving me a very clean impression.

This is an excellent hotel to stay at in Kyoto. It is just across the road from Nijo Station, just 3 stops from Kyoto station and also on the subway line and also very close to a main bus stop. The staff are very friendly and the rooms were very clean and well appointed. The rooms are an average size for Japan but we had sufficient space for 2 medium suitcases and the bathroom was excellent. Clean pyjamas were provided each day. We were able to leave our large luggage when we spent one night at Kinosaki Onsen which was very convenient. Tea and coffee was available all day in the bar area. We did not eat at the hotel as there is a cafe close by for breakfast and there are several options for dinner close by as well. Would highly recommend this hotel.
