November 2023

The room was perfect for me as a solo traveler. The hotel’s location was perfect for all the attractions that I had planned to see. After I checked out, I asked one of the receptionists about forwarding my luggage to another hotel (I planned on only taking a backpack to my next accommodation) and she completed the form for me! I really appreciated that— thanks again!! TIP: If you have luggage and don’t want to carry it up the stairs from the subway: walk to exit 8 to take the escalator & from there it’s about a 2-3 minute walk to the hotel.

The location was great, really close to Sakae station and Oasis 21, but definitely in the middle of a party and shopping area. Although the room was quiet, that sort of environment might not be for everyone. The rooms were nicer and more updated than some similarly priced hotels that I've stayed in. Check-in and check-out were easy. There was a small fridge in the double room. We were a couple sharing the cheapest double room, so it was a bit small, but since we don't live too far away we didn't have much luggage. If you have big luggage you'll want to upgrade your room size.

We asked for two more pillows (one more each) but they only let us have one extra. I'm not sure if the hotel was really booked up or what, but it seemed a bit stingy. The headboard of the bed is a kind of useful big shelf space, but if you are just hanging out for a bit it was sort of uncomfortable, so two pillows would've helped. Plus, allergies and congestion while sleeping make two pillows much more comfortable for some folks. Also, the elevator always stops on the third floor (reception) even after you've got your room key and use it to push your floor number. I guess it's probably some safety feature? Anyway, the elevators were pretty fast so it wasn't a huge deal, just a bit annoying.

Prior to my trip, I had to change the dates of my stay and tried through Booking.com, but the site showed there were no rooms available. I reached out to the hotel, and they assisted me in changing the dates. There's a service in Japan that allows you to forward your luggage to the hotel. I had used that service and when I reached Hotel Actel, my luggage was there waiting for me. They also assisted me in shipping my luggage to my next hotel(for an exra fee, which is totally fine). But it was less stressful to travel with a small carry-on than a huge suitcase. The hotel staff were so helpful, sweet and kind. Convenient location to convenience stores and Subways. When I arrived, there was a festival going on, so the streets were packed, but I never felt unsafe. Even waking up early, going to the convenience store a block away was safe. I opted for a double room and had enough space to fit comfortably a large suitcase, a small suitcase and had 5 people in the room hanging out. Next trip to Nagoya, I will definitely be staying here again.

The location of the hotel is great for those wanting to explore the Sakae area. The facilities of the hotel are pretty new and it has a modern design. The staff is friendly and the check-in desk on the 2nd floor is welcoming. You can get a free coffee and they have lots of complimentary amenities available on that floor as well.

There wasn't really anything I didn't like about this hotel. Maybe this is just Japan in general, but rooms in these types of hotels can be pretty cramped. If you are travelling with a big group, you will need to get multiple rooms or choose a hotel with bigger rooms to stay in.

I would stay here and or recommend this place for anyone looking for a good and reasonably priced hotel. The bath is an ofuro style with a separate toilet area which I prefer. Everything was extremely clean. Great for that evening soak to relive tired feet and body. Lots of amenities like a variety of bath salts and and good coffee available in the lobby. The entrance to the hotel is deceiving as you have to walk past a smoky restaurant to get to the elevator in which you take to the 3rd floor to reach the front desk. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The hotel itself is close to the subway station as well as many great shopping areas. I would stay here again.

Very well located, steps away from restaurants, nagoya tv tower and park, and bus stops and subway nearby to get around the city. The room was a decent size for Japanese standards with a much nicer bathroom than I expected for this kind of city hotels. Lobby area has a comfy lounge with a good number of seatings and free coffee/cocoa to boot

The hotel is right in the middle of one of the city's nightlife spots which may or may not appeal to everyone looking for a quieter neighborhood at night.

We had 2 single rooms --- which was small as typical of Japanese business hotel, and 1 Deluxe Twin Room --- this was spacious and plenty of space for large luggages for 2 persons. The amenities and free drinks at the lobby were a plus. The hotel gave a voucher for parking and an overnight parking was 2,000 JPY which was quick cheap compared to other public parking around the area. Location was excellent for shopping.

There was no breakfast available, and there weren't many choices around at 7am, as most places open later.

It's a very well located, well appointed room, perfect for one, and a bit of a squeeze for two but doable. Everything is clean and modern. The lobby has free coffee machines and a smoking area. The receptionists are strict about the 3pm check in though. It's in the central Sakae area of Nagoya, two stops from JR Train Station, 10 min walk to the Mirai Tower... great shopping and restaurants around.

There are many hotel options around, so I am not sure if this is the best... but if you could get a decent price / night, this could be of great value.

Location is good, Donki is behind, train is nearby, It's 15-20 mins walk to Osu Kannon area where the streets is filled with food, another 15-20 to north Nagoya Castle. The staff is friendly and English speaking. Free coffee, cocoa, water at reception. There's pretty decent food, restaurant around the area, love the unagi restaurant across the street.

This area reminds of the back alley of Shinjuku. It's a pub area, so you will get some sense of dodgy. Finding the lift to bring my luggage up is a little challenging but Thank God the lift is opposite the hotel from Subway.

Location is great. Room is small but very clean. Very comfy bedding. Even though you put up the sign "Don't disturb", you still get your new bag of new towels, water bottle, slippers & toothbrush daily. Amenities are available for free on Front Desk floor.

Can't use the air purifier humidifier in my room. Have to go down to Front Desk floor to use their coffee machine. No instant coffee bags (tea bags available) so you can't make a cup of coffee in your room.
