The house is huge but i guess because we were the only occupant for the 2 room house, we practically have the whole place for our own. Can safely say everything you needed in a house is there. The heater in the kitchen was great.

It is a self check-in and there are nobody in the house to accept us. I have forgotten to check my email on the check-in day therefore missed the passcode given to access the house. Eventually need to call the housekeeper for the passcode.

Not in a central location but very convenient transport which was noted on very detailed maps provided by the owner. Got upgraded to a larger room as I was the only guest in the building for a few nights. Check in and check out was very easy and didn't need interaction with anyone

Laundry facilities were not allowed to be used by guests

When i got to the hotel, i was informed i had an upgrade, so the room was big, alot of space for me, which i enjoyed. The area is quiet, and is in a valley surround by mountains, which for a Danish person like me was fantastic.

The hostel is located in a peaceful quiet community. If you want to escape from the city, it's definitely a good place to live. There are few bus routes that can access the hostel directly from Otaru station.

Not many shops or convenience stores nearby. It's better to buy some food and groceries before going to the hostel.

It was very easy and immediate communication via messaging! Free and safe parking right next to the Ryokan. Common area had full kitchen amenities and the room with Japanese garden view was magical with snow fall on Christmas morning!

Walking to canal street was not easy in the snow - I misjudged the distance as thought it was closer.

Nice staff, easy check in and check out, ready made hot water, microwave and toaster available, moderate space, close to bus stops.

The beds and pillows were on the firm/hard side.

I like the Japanese style home stay. Private toilet. But the private bathroom is separate from the room. Supermarket is nearby to get food. Place of interest are also nearby. ie Canal, Day market, Fish market, scenic ocean and cliffs viewpoints

This was an amazing experience. Sleeping on tatami, sharing the house with other travelers, and being close to downtown. Place is hidden from the main road, but even their directions amd signage helped greatly.

Room is big enough for 4 of us with a separate sitting area that we can pack our luggage. A good experience of a home stay.

shower not in the room, need to walk to the common area but thankfully it was meant only for our room use.

It was good that shower room and toilet were separated. Close to the sightseeing places and it was really easy to get there.

Curtains in the room was not so thick enough so when it is sunny day, waking up with the sunlight.
