Charming hotel with good ambiance. Rooms were clean and relatively spacious for Japan standards. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Good location. Hot water. Good wifi.
Considering they have a cafe, it would have been nice to have a free welcome drink for guests. They also don't allow outside food for guests in the lobby area (due to the cafe), so if you get food from 7-eleven, plan on eating outside or in your room. Seems a little stringent and unfair to not provide coffee or an eating area for guests who are already spending ¥10,000+/night... Minor inconvenience to go up to the room to eat a breakfast snack, then return to the lobby to buy a coffee.

Very clean and well maintained hotel. I like the cool concept of renting books at a cafe to read in the comfort of the room. Well located at Tanukikoji 6 for shopping arcade and connected to underground (Polo town) at Tanukikoji 4 for direct access to JR Sapporo
The check in time was 3pm, we reached early at 2pm so both my elderly parents and my kid were resting at the reception coach, the receptionist told them off to leave the premises as no resting is allowed as this is a cafe library meant reading and working with coffee. They end up waiting in the cold winter outside of the hotel when I came back for the check in. This is so unreasonable. There should be segregation between the coffee cafe seating area and check in the lobby sofa. There is absolutely no reason why the guests can't rest while waiting for check in to the hotel.

Great location, good use of space in the room - small but didn’t feel cramped. Loved borrowing books to read during our stay!
We had a bit of a struggle with sending our snowboard bag from the hotel via Yamato. Hotel staff made us put the snowboard bag in a cover that didn’t fit (even though we told them Yamato hadn’t needed that before). The tag was lost along the way and we are VERY lucky Yamato could figure out where our bag needed to go. The bag was also damaged as a result of this, which is pretty frustrating (this was caused by the hotel staff covering all the handles on the bag with the unnecessary cover).

Good it has a coffee shop and book rental service at the same properties Great concept, feel cozy and chill, Really clean, impressive with the roôm Spacious and well-equipped
- I hope there is a microwave - There is (sometime) weird sound from the air conditioner , which is in Japanese, and I have no idea how to fix. - It needs 10-15m walk to/from Susukino / Odori station, which can be troublesome if it rains or travels with huge luggage. on the bright side, it locates at the end of tanukikoji shopping street (7chome) and only take 5 mins walk to Pole Town, the underground shopping area Everything is nearby

Loved the concept of books and a night to stay somewhere! To note that there is a limited number of English books but nonetheless it's a great space on the 1st floor if you're a keen reader or hoping to grab a hot chocolate before heading back to your room. The bedroom, like our stay at the Fukuoka branch, was compact but well designed and felt just right enough space if you're heading out to explore for the whole day. The place was also really well located in Sapporo.
The only thing I would comment on is the room temperature. It's incredibly warm in the room making it rather difficult to sleep at times. To note, you may want to tweak the heating slightly or give instructions in English, for non-speaking guests, to use the remote.

Lovely café hotel nice ambiance and modern room spectacular shower. Toilet modern as u in Japan as usual
It just a minor thing but its important as for safety 1. Cafe shop coffee type is minimum they dont even have hot chocolate well at least they have latte 2. There is no bin in the toilet even even tiny bin i think is necessary 3. Hair dryer set up is unsafe. Is really near the sink if we wash water splash into hairdryer and i saw tiny spot water or soap from the past guest. My recommendation is to move that out somewhere safe as the other side of sink have big gaps but unfortunately did not have power outlet's.

The hotel looked very new and fresh, everything was spotlessly clean. The rooms were a decent size and we didn't hear anything from outside (despite being on quite a fun and lively street). The bathroom was super quite and despit the bath being small, it was really deep so was really comfortable! Location was perfect for exploring Sapporo, less than an hour to walk to the bottom of Mount Maruyama/Mount Moiwa, less than half an hour from Nakajima Park and less than 10 minutes to walk to the centre for shopping and restaurants. The breakfast was a nice addition each morning and it was very useful having a 'pay for' washing machine on site, which cost about ¥500 including detergent. When we arrived in Sapporo we got the train from the airport to central station which was then about a 20 min walk to the hotel, however on the way back there was a airport bus stop a 2 minute walk from the hotel, so recommend looking into that as super convenient.
Nothing major, but the only negative was that the pillows were slightly too small and a little hard/uncomfortable, but the rest of the bed was super comfortable!

Very neat, clean, modern and inexpensive accommodation with cute book shop theme. Tiny but cleverly designed room. Laundry facilities available. Great location in middle of Sapporo. Small soaking depth bathtub in bathroom. Lovely breakfast and good coffee. Cafe has a chill lounge atmosphere. Pjs and toiletries provided. Would definitely stay there again.
Only 1 pillow each, but I quickly realised pillows were going to be an issue for me on our trip in Japan (I like 2 soft pillows normally) I just bought a small cheap one to carry with me and problem solved. Beds were firm but again that's a question of taste.

It’s a wonderful hotel. We stayed before in their hotel in Nagoya and we loved it. It’s a nice and cosy hotel located in the sheltered shopping area. Staff are very friendly, the check-in and check-out very smooth. The breakfast was simple but nice to start a good day! We love the concept of library and our kids borrow books to read them in the room or in the lounge. The cafe is open until late night I think and we can just go down, grab a coffee and read. We will definitely look for other Lamp Light Books hotels in Japan.
It might a Booking.com issue but we booked the room for 2 adults and 2 children and the hotel shows only 3 adults so we got only 3 breakfasts instead of 4.

There is no better feeling than coming back to a comfortable room after long day trips! What I love most is that this hotel is new and charming, bathroom is pristine clean. And it’s surprisingly quiet at night even though the location is next to a shopping street. The nearest subway is only 10 mins walk. Lobby area ressembles a library, very calm, just that for a solo traveler I find it hard to chill at lobby and socialize because most customers read books or on their laptop! Not to forget the staffs are also friendly. Especially Sugimoto-san who has been so helpful and kind, he helped me search for onsen day trip and it turned out to be an amazing onsen experience!
I love everything
