Money & Food Concerns? - Next door you will find a large supermarket named Maru-Etsu. The store is open 24/7 with reasonably priced food & drinks. Bentos become cheaper in the evening (up to 30% off) so recommend going a little later . - Across the street there is a 7/11. It has an international ATM that supports various payment providers. You should be able to withdraw money there. - There are many 24/7 chains (Yoshinoya/Sukiya) + small shops that sell well priced food. Recommend taking a walk around! What about Transport? - If you need the JR Line Ueno Station is only a 8 minute walk. Inaricho station for Tokyo Metro (JR & Metro are different be careful) on the Ginza line is only a 2 minute walk. You can get to Asakusa really quickly from there. How was the Hotel? -Microwave provided which is excellent for heating up bentos. The room was comfortable & bed was nice and soft. The staff provided us with new towels & amenities e.g. green tea everyday which was fantastic.
Heater: - The heating/aircon appears to be controlled by a central unit during the day. At night you are free to adjust, but make sure you have some tea & use the fuzzy slippers if you plan to stay in during the day. It started pushing out cold air at 11:00 am.

APA hotels are everywhere in Japan. You know what you will be getting. They're clean, comfortable and affordable. This was a perfect example of that. If, however, you are expecting American sized rooms - you need to actually do some research on Japanese accommodation. It's not going to happen. Capsule hotels exist for a reason... Tokyo does not have affordable and spacious hotel rooms.
APA's ownership is a problem that I found out about after booking. Ethically I will have issues staying at an APA property in future. Otherwise it's a comfortable hotel well located near Ueno station and very near Inaricho station.

2-3 minute walk to Inaricho Station, which is on the Ginza Line. The room was small, but it didn't feel claustrophobic - it had everything we needed. Everything was very clean and tidy, and the staff at the reception were very friendly. When we left, they guided us through the luggage transfer service, which was very helpful. Funnily enough, in the early hours of the morning of our first night, there was a fire alarm (false alarm) that awoke us. The staff handled the situation well, and their communication was fantastic in such a stressful situation. Although the room was small, there were many space-saving amenities such as hooks and underbed storage for luggage.

Ueno Inaricho Ekikita - Room 708, 3 weeks duration: The hotel was small but organized and exceptionally clean. Cleaning staff made sure to provide necessary toiletries and other necessities every day. The front desk staff was professional and and assisted to the best of their ability whenever I had questions or needed additional items such as coffee or eating utensils. The location was top-notch, right next door to the is a 24/7 supermarket for stocking up on drinks/food along with a 7-11 right across the street for ATM withdrawals and other miscellaneous purchases. Easy access to Inaricho Station and a short walk to Ueno station makes it convenient to get to other parts of the city, along with being a short walk from Asakusa providing ample things to do when staying local. I would recommend this location to others looking to stay in Tokyo and will definitely look into this hotel again for future trips!
The only real complaint I have is the lack of onsite laundry facilities. Be sure to research coin-op laundries in the area, and to spend a day cleaning your clothes. It's not too inconvenient, but it is something to be aware of for anyone with longer stays at this location.

Quality-price. I used the hotel to stay and keep my stuffs before I moved back to my country after more than one year in Japan. I was worry with the space, but all my stuffs fitted perfectly in the room and had a lot of space!! The bed was super comfortable and the place was really quite
Not everyone speaks English... And even if there's someone that speaks English unless you ask them, they don't call the English speaker receptionist... Wouldn't be better to call them from the beginning and save time? Check out at 10am, ridiculous early... 1k yen/1 hour if you wanna delay it. As someone that has stayed in several hotels (Japan and Europe), check out uses to be at least until 11am, and if you pay for a late check out it's at least until midday, and don't have to keep paying per hour

Staff, cleanliness, location, whithin walking distance to Ueno and Asakusa - Senso-Ji. Also easy to reach from Narita Airport with Keisei Line or Skyliner. Although the rooms are very small, 11 square meters, the space is very well organized. There is a large desk/table, a small minibar, large TV, hangers for clothes, the space for luggage is under the bed. In the bathroom, the facilities include a magic toilet with a heated seat, and hot water for washing intimate areas, a bathtub with very good shower pressure, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair elastic, makeup remover disc, razor blade, containers with shampoo, conditioner , shower gel. The hotel also provides bathrobes and slippers. In 2-3 minutes from the hotel there are 2 convenience store, a 7-11 and another similar one, very good for breakfast.

Staff was very friendly and went out of its way (and all the way up to the room) to help. Rooms are very well isolated both to the outside and the room next doors. Room with a view ( of skytree) was a bonus. Location is a 10 - 15 min walk from Uenostation which is a major transferpoint. It is easy once you have figured out how to cross the bridge in front of the station. Next subway station is 5 minutes from the hotel. Convenience store and caffee within a 5 minutes walk.
The only time staff made the room (they do it every 3 days, towel and yukata change daily) some of the amenities were not replaced.

This was a good hotel, and the first one we stayed at upon arriving to Tokyo. We were able to get there via the Ginza line, however most of our day to day travel happened at the Ueno station which was about a 10-15 min walk away. Asakusa was also nearby, probably about a 20 minute walk to get to all the shops/restaurants and Senso-ji. There's a 7 Eleven across the street, however we actually went to the grocery store which was even closer, more frequently. Laundromat is a couple of block away. The location itself, being between the main Asakusa and Ueno areas was a fairly quiet one, however this is what we were looking for to decompress at the end of the day. We did walk back and forth between Asakusa and Ueno at all hours of the day and always felt safe. The room itself was fairly small, but it seemed to be standard across APA hotels as we stayed at other locations as well. We didn't have too many issues as it was just my spouse and I.
This seemed to be common across APA hotels, but every time you enter the room the TV turns on with a programmed videos that can get kind of annoying. The room temperature is controlled centrally so if you're someone who feels hot/cold you may have issues. They did have fans to freely rent at the front desk.

The hotel is less than 5min walk from the metro and 1 stop we can reach to Ueno and Sensoji temple. The room was spacious than i expected for the budget hotel in tokyo and it is very clean. The are plenty of amenities in the room. The staff were so friendly and nice, they offer me Sa-ke as a complimentary for the guest who check in on that day. Next to the hotel there are seafood restaurent and a big 24h supermarket which is so easy for late night snacks. I would definitely stay here again for my next trip in tokyo.
Beware that the air conditioning and heater are controlled by the whole building. I felt a bit cold at night time even under the blanket since we cannot adjust the temperature at all.

The room architecture was very well thought out, every nook and cranny of it was well thought out to optimize space. Even though it was a small place, I believe it was quite standard for Japan. The hotel is very well located, very close to the subway station on the Ginza Line. It is very central and close to the Ueno Station as well, which makes it very convenient to visit other neighborhoods.
I believe the hotel could adopt more sustainable practices. For example, adding the option of not wanting new towels and utilities, which were added to a plastic bag and left by the door even if you ask for no cleaning service.
