Dormy Inn Premium Wakayama Natural Hot Spring

Onsen was relaxing and spacious, the mikan juice was delicious at the breakfast buffet. Enjoyed the icecreams after the onsen. Close to wakayama castle and train station. Laundry available.

Lounge facilities after the onsen were smaller than other dormy inn locations. Buffet breakfast had less selections than other dormy inn locations.

Excellent choice of food for breakfast,especially if you like Japanese style…and fish.They even had fried whale meat on the menu. Free noodle service between 9.30 - 11.00 pm Beautiful onsen baths…the TV in the room will tell you how busy the baths are so that you can plan to go at a quieter time if you wish! An easy 5 minute walk from Wakayama station.

Only 1 big bath towel in the room…which you to take with you when you go to the big baths on the 2nd floor. Nowhere to hang the towel in the toilet/shower area.

Convenient location with only about 5 mins walk from Wakayama station. We arrived late at night but just in time for free ramen, which was nice and warm us up. The room size was compact but tidy and clean. There're also pyjamas available, which is thoughtful. The facilities on the second floor was also nice. We regretted that we didn't use the onsen. The massage chair was so relaxing after a long day. We also love free Yakult available in front of the onsen in the morning.

The room and the double bed was a bit small but understandable.

We are back to Dormy Inn after the pandemic! The hotel is as expected, location is excellent, very close to the train station and good local restaurant. Room size is adequate but very tidy and clean. We enjoyed the hot spring inside the hotel very much. They offer free refreshment (ice-cream and yakult) next to the onsen, the ice cream was excellent!! We love chilling there. Washing machine is free for you to use (drying is a paid service) and that's very handy because we could drop our clothes in wash on the last day and it'll be done by the time we finished soaking in the hot spring. Overall, a great stay in this hotel, will definitely recommend.

Could offer free parking for hotel guests. Parking is still 1000 yen when you can find cheaper parking just round the corner (600yen). The twin bed room I shared with my sister is bigger than the double bed room shared by my parents.... so it would've been better if the double bed room is bigger.

Comfortable, spacious and clean room and hotel overall, just a few minutes' walk from Wakayama station. Staff was friendly and helpful. I spent only one night here with a late-ish arrival and early check-out but enjoyed my short stay very much.

I couldn't figure out the air conditioning - some instructions would be helpful! My room was close to the elevator and through the door I could hear the piano music that was played in front of the elevators, so sound proofing in the doors could be better. Otherwise nothing I didn't like.

I liked that it was close to the station and was down the main street. I loved the sauna kept at 100 degrees C. and the 10 degrees C. cold rinse. The breakfast had a lot of Japanese foods to sample as well as some western food. Washing machine is free but dryer requires coins. Wakayama is a big city with wide streets and traffic, location is near to bus stops and one day trips with trains are easily negotiated.

Shows signs of age. Very popular hotel, must adjust schedule to avoid lines at breakfast and onsen.

Room was relatively spacious for a Japanese business hotel. The onsen was not crowded most of the time, and there is a window in the main indoor bath area so it does not feel super stuffy, so it all added up to be very relaxing. I also liked that the hotel provides a free ice cream bar (at night) or yakult (in the morning) for guests to enjoy after the onsen. Also, Dormy Inn's signature free ramen during late night hours is always much appreciated.

Great location! Less than 10min walk from the wakayama station (all flat roads, no hills). The onsen was great and you also get some random freebies (free coffee in the afternoon, free popsicles, free ramen at night, etc.). Room is not big but that's normal for Japanese hotels, we did not spend a whole lot of time inside the room so it didn't matter too much anyways. Would recommend this place.

The breakfast has a variety of japanese and western dishes. Service is efficient and friendly. The amenities in the onsen are great. Access to the female onsen requires a passcode which is changed daily. The free ice pops seem very popular with guests. The laundry works well and readily available.

The lounge on the 2nd floor can accommodate 3 to 4 persons max. I find the bed rather hard.

The self serve breakfast was excellent and so much variety of Japanese food. Free: noodle supper at night, the ice creams and laundry service on the 2nd floor was excellent. Wi fi reception in my room was perfect.

Rules are rules and i respect the differences in culture. Just like to see the day when tattooed foreigners are free to enter bath houses and onsens. As far as i know no caucasian has ever been a valid member of the yakuza:)
