Sunset 🌇 🌄 view from the rooftop lounge is A++ with chill music 🎶 playing on speaker from a laptop/YouTube. Hostel location also very good nearby some good restaurants in Wadi Musa. Petra entrance & JETT bus 🚌 is 15-20min walk (downhill from hostel, uphill to hostel, or 3min taxi/Uber). We actually hitched a ride 2x in the back of a 🛻 it's a safe town! Dorms are clean and spacious. Free water (filter) up on rooftop along with hot water kettle for coffee/tea. Price point was right where it should be, good value for a couple nights!

Smoking 🚬 allowed in rooftop lounge was disappointing. Hot water for shower only came on at certain times (which is totally fine IF the reception clarified when that timeframe would be e.g. 7-9pm). It was cold this time of year so a hot shower vs cold one woulda been more pleasant. No fridge, but again there was abundant convenience stores, restaurants & shawarma spot just down the road. Not a negative, but the kitchenette sink had dishes piled up- this is 100% the guests fault ...but an easy fix is to put clear labels all around the sink to clean up your own dishes, as you are being watched on camera 🎥 and just install a fake camera 😆

We were greeted at the Reception by a really friendly and helpful staff member. We were pretty exhausted, so probably didn't give him back the great energy he gave (sorry!!!). The roof terrace was an amazing space with incredible views of the town and the mountains behind. A great communal space to hang out in. The twin room was spacious and clean. The shower was cold at first, but the staff member at reception had given us the heads up that the water is heated by solar, and that if it runs out, we can whatsapp down to get the boiler switched on. Once that was done, the shower was nice and hot, which was much appreciated after a long day in Petra.

Nothing really. It wasn't fancy, but it was great for the price.

The hostel's location is a major plus, being just a 5-minute drive from the Petra visitor center. This convenience is excellent for those eager to explore the archaeological wonders of Petra without a lengthy commute. Rafiki Hostel also offers good value for money, making it a budget-friendly choice for travelers. The rooftop provides a pleasant surprise, offering a nice view, creating a relaxing spot to unwind after a day of exploration.

One notable downside was the lunch box option offered by the hostel. Despite being marketed as covering breakfast, snacks, and lunch, it fell short of expectations. Priced at 5JOD, we found that lunch boxes with a better variety of sandwiches were available inside Petra for just 7JOD. This discrepancy left us feeling disappointed and questioning the value of the hostel's lunch box offering. While Rafiki Hostel has its merits, there's room for improvement, particularly in ensuring that additional services like the lunch box align with travelers' expectations and represent good value compared to other options in the area.

It was my first hostel experience and it was wonderful. The room is very nice and the shower was clean. There is heating in the room. The roof is the main place. You can have tea and watch the sunset. In the evening, we have dinner (6jod) and learn to dance the dadkeh. I met nice people there, the owner and staff are synaptic and helpful. It's a bit far from the Petra visitor center and the taxis don't meter so I chose to walk there, it was like hiking up a hill but I'm used to that and It's easy to get to the visitor center on foot. But it's worth it (there's a swimming pool for the summer and a lounge too)... They also have deals for Wadirum and divung in Aqaba.

Had a great stay. 6 nights total. Staff is extremely friendly, helpful and informative. Very lovable doggy named Kompas who loves to be petted. Fantastic common area on top floor with great view. I spent more time there than in Petra. Many stores nearby and close to bus station. 15 minute walk downhill to Petra.

Some more items in common kitchen area needed (coffee/tea mugs). Would be nicer with a fridge, but not necessary.

The hostel is located 25 min away from Petra in a calm area. The owner is really friendly and helpful. Answered all my questions I had.. The bedroom is spacious enough and the beds are comfortable. On the roof there is a common area with a great view. Wifi is good too. Great price/value ratio, can recommend it!

The bathroom facilities are undermaintained but for a short stay are fine.

Clean room, comfortable bed, the temperature in the Room was good, in the rooftop you can see a very beautiful sunset, also they have a pool with 6 jod per person we had an awesome dinner with rice and chicken , salad and sauce. The workers of the hotel are very helpful, also they offer useful information about cheap transport and good places to eat and to visit. I definitely recommend this hotel

The hotel was perfect, has exceeded our expectations, one thing that we already knew was that the location was in wadi musa town, you have to walk around 1.5km incline from the visitor centre. However this I think is nothing special that someone has to worry.

Everything was perfect. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice vibes in that hostel where you can chill around the swimming pool after a long day in Petra. Beds are really comfy and the rooms are super clean. There is also a very practical shared kitchen on the rooftop where you can enjoy a magnificent sunset and meet other travelers. Thank you for everything, I had a lovely stay with you !

We had a really wonderful stay at this hostel. Following an early morning bus from Amman after a late night and little sleep, receptionist Gazi welcomed us and calmed us from any fatigue induced stress. A great employee to have in the hospitality world! He gave great recommendations for food nearby as well as the perfect time to enter Petra. Temperatures were extremely high so visiting in late afternoon before closing worked out much better. Plus it gave us time to rest. The room was very comfortable with a huge common room and kitchen on the top floor offering a wonderful view of the town. Plus a swimming pool outside! A very welcome addition after a long day walking. Can't recommend enough. Thanks again Gazi!

Rafiki Hostel is well located in Wadi Musa, just a 5 minute drive from the main entrance of Petra. We had a basic room, no aircon but a fan. Temperatures were lower than in other cities so this was no problem. The hostel also had an amazing pool and chill areas. The personnel was super friendly and helpful. You could order a delicious and elaborate breakfast for 4 JOD pp. Great wifi in the whole hostel. Amazing rooftop terrace with free tea and drinking water.

The water pressure varies during the day, but you could also take a shower next to the pool.
