I like The Manila Hotel because of its rooms and the security guards.

The lady at the front desk wearing a black suit who checked us in was not hospitable. Maybe because we got the discounted room and we didn’t look presentable, just like any other guests at that time. If that is not the reason, then personal issues should be set aside next time and prove that you have 5-star service no matter what.

it’s very clean. the staff were excellent-very hospitable and attentive. I was pleased there are steam iron and ironing board inside our room and I was able to iron my blouse. It’s different from other hotels. Although it’s an old building it keeps up with the time. There is a bit of nostalgia - the telephone operator. The place is just awesomely beautiful. The staff were immaculately dressed and polite. There is attention to details I may say. That is why Manila Hotel is still here today whilst the others closed.

There is nothing I don’t like in this hotel. Good security check and I feel safe.

My request was granted in terms of two rooms close to each other. however, the linens are not quite crisp and clean, I am just wondering if they have changed it before we use it. The breakfast was good, so many choices, however, they did not refill immediately, so we were not able to taste some of the Chinese and Korean foods—no condiments on the table. The price is not reasonable, I've been to other 5-star hotels but the price is reasonable enough given that we had an event in the hotel, they should be giving a discounted rate. But overall it is still nice to stay.

We treated ourselves to a buffet dinner at Café Ilang-Ilang. There was an exceptional array of food and many different cooking styles. Of course it was impossible to try all the delicious dishes on offer, but we did our best. The buffet breakfast is extensive. It would be better if the plastic screens used during the Covid scare, were removed. This is a friendly and welcoming hotel as you would expect. It is a place where you can truly relax and enjoy a peaceful sleep in a quiet room. The pool is large enough for laps if you feel like it and gym is well run and with excellent changing facilities

Our room was number 1111 and was a degree less satisfactory than our past stays. No bathrobes or face cloths were available on arrival. It took three calls to house keeping and some 45 minutes of waiting before the face clothes were delivered. The bath plug leaked to an extent which slowed the filling of the bath. The air-conditioning struggled, even when set to the lowest temperature and the highest fan. The carpet and the bed headboard fabrics looked tired and well worn. These are small points, but comparison matters and that is the point of these surveys.

Such a beautiful, historic hotel. From the huge entrance foyer, tap room, champagne dining room, breakfast/buffet dining area, the décor and lighting were stunning. The staff were very attentive. Live singing, piano and violin music added to the dining atmosphere and experience. Everything was very tastefully done.

There were a few little let downs in the bedroom - only one bathrobe, no face cloths, an iron with the wrong plug for the room sockets, only a couple of tea bags provided with no cream sachets. Little touches that should have been better in a five star hotel.

The breakfast was fantastic and same with our dinner buffet from our first night of stay. All the staff are very accommodating and helpful from the Ylang ylang restaurant, the door, the security, the housekeeping support including the front desk manager. My parents and I have a lovely experience during our stay. What makes me choose to stay at The Manila Hotel is that the grand old dame contributed a great part of the rich cultural history of the city of Manila.

I was really looking forward to use the ladies steam room from the spa unfortunately it is under maintenance so I didn’t have the chance to enjoy it otherwise everthing about the service is fabulous.

All of the staff were eager to help you in anyway they could. Get a Grab, luggage, directions, etc. I will definitely go here again. It's like walking back in time to a more Luxurious simplicity of the times past. The breakfast buffet is well worth it. You choose from classic Filipino, Chinese, Korean, and American plus fruit bar and waffles, pancakes, breads. If you go there do the tour of scenic Manila. The wall, churches, Fort Santiago,

My stay wasn't long enough

This is 5star hotel and they are not providing extra water bottle. They only provide 2 small water bottle, which is not even enough for 1 person. And we were 2. And if you want to buy water bottle then it is 5 to 6 times high expensive then market rate.. Couch in the reception hall is full of stain. I don't know the staff or people working there didn't see that .. so disgusting...at least put a cover... It's a 5* hotel, keep that status.

Impressive lobby and restaurant room with life music. Fruitbasket as a welcoming present. Very good location.

Lifts were not working.

Breakfast are superb! lots of selection from bread ,local dessert, most of asean foods and many more. Chef's assist my needs in all my choices. Room are cleaned and well arranged in orderly manner. Bathroom accessories are complete with new and clean towels, "Superb shower" also makes me amazed of the performance while taking a bath as it pour in strong and plenty of waters to satisfy your bathing needs.

Service in the Reception area: The Duty Manager give us an extra mile of her service as we need to know the venue of our attending events for the night, She also share some possibilities of having dining in the hotel.
