We had our dog with us so we could only book a standard room but that was fine. It was a room at the back on the first floor and it was quiet. The room had a water cooker and fridge which were both useful. Breakfast was fresh and good and there was more than enough choice for a couple of days stay. As the weather was super we ate outside in the garden terrace and food was good. Hotel located in the heart of Vianden next to the river. All hotel staff we encountered were helpful and very pleasant.
We had a problem with the room safe which could have been avoided IF a staff member is responsible for checking that the safe door is open, that the safe batteries work and that the instructions for using the safe are IN the room. The hotel staff did sort the problem. Parking your car can be a problem as paid parking is restricted to a maximum of 5 hours in the covered parking garage conveniently close to the hotel, but parking is free on Sunday. There is free public parking in Larei parking which is behind the parking garage and a little bit further away but within walking distance.

The room was dual aspect on the second floor (with lift), looking out onto the river with the bridge one way and the castle on the hill the other way. The shower was huge with a good flow rate and the heating was efficient (weather was showery with sleet one minute and sunshine the next). Breakfast was plentiful with an egg boiler to do your own! Staff were friendly, helpful & fluent in English, or would quickly get somebody who was. We liked the hotel so much we stayed on our way back four days later! This time we had dinner, too - one of us had the duck (very good) and the other one had the pork neck with broad beans & herb sauce. Waffle with honey (special order!) and creme brulee also good. The town is pretty, in a gorge with the river running though it. The castle is worth the climb, or take the chair lift! And the local hydro electricity workings have a free exhibition (in French and German) which is worth a look, even if only to go down the tunnel to the huge staircase taking you to the turbine hall deep in the hillside. Oh, car parking around the hotel is not too bad. The first night we were allowed to park right outside as the garage wasn't in use. The second time we used the local covered car park (which we could see from our room) which is free after 6.30pm on Saturday and all of Sunday.

The room was very comfortable with a lovely view. The hotel has a lift that we were encouraged to use with our luggage. Parking is close by and is not extravagant. The breakfast was the best for our entire trip which included 7 destinations. There was no shortage, and fresh food was brought out all the time during the meal.
Maybe we did not try hard enough but we couldn't find a supermarket close-by. Maybe this should go down as a "like", who knows? :-)

Wonderful location. There is something magical about vianden. The staff were very good, efficient but friendly and they all spoke excellent English. The restaurant is of a good quality without being too expensive. I would certainly recommend the £10 breakfast option. We will certainly return.
We had a modern comfort room which lacked the style of the older rooms and the view was limited to houses and sheds at the back but this was the price we paid for wanting a dog free room. The other rooms at the front will have way better views but dogs are welcome in these rooms and so they may not be suitable for people who are allergic.

I would say the second culprit of the Vianden (the first one is obviously the castle) is definitely the Victor Hugo hotel - it's in the heart of the town. The hotel is a part of the towns identity and it has a really long history. The hotel manager was exceptional - really friendly and nice, we were in good hands. The view from the room's window was magical, because we could see the castle. The beds were comfy, the room was spacious, really clean and we could park the car (for free) very close from the hotel!
- I guess because the hotel is old, as well as the pipes, there was a little bit of funny smell coming from the shower, but I guess there is nothing to do regarding this matter and it's totally understandable. - I believe the lamp sensor in the bathroom was broken/didn't work properly, because the light just didn't go out the whole time (there was no switch as well), so we had to remove the keycard entirely for the night and this way we didn't have electricity during the night, which was a little bit inconvenient.

Perfect for our group of 9 motorcyclists. Huge secure garage for our bikes. Great location, lots of choice for drinks & meals in Vianden. Rooms are basic but comfortable, met our needs perfectly. Restaurant and bar reasonably priced, food & staff excellent. We will definitely return.
Some noise at night from traffic etc. To be expected though, its a busy little town (wear your earplugs:-)

Location was excellent and parking under cover for motorbike just under the hotel. Room decor is dated but spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of food. We also ate in the restaurant the night before and service was excellent - very friendly and good food and a lovely view on the river. Vianden is an amazing place and easy walking distance from the Hotel

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect in the center with a nice terras in the sun. Breakfast was not special but had everything what was needed Room was cleaned every day even without asking
Room looked a bit old and bit dirty in some spots and could be a bit more modernized. Beds were hard

Nice Hotel-Restaurant to stay a couple of days to discover Luxembourg routes. Private close garage for motorbikes. Little bit complicated to get access, but no problems with my big R1200RT with cases. Great town to stay with a nice castle and plenty of options for beers-dinners. Motorbike friendly. Rooms fine and breakfast quite enough.

Good location, staff is friendly, food at the restaurant is good
Very hot during summer (there is a fan which helps to stand the heat) and the street is noisy even during the night because cars and busses pass in front of the hotel. So you have to chose to open the window but have noise or close it but have the heat
