Fantastic room with gorgeous styling! The mattress was super comfy. Location is pretty good, very easy to walk (if you don't mind being sweaty) to lots of places - street food, Little India, Blue Mansion, supermarkets nearby, etc. There is a required 'Heritage tax' to stay in a place like this, and it's worth every cent. Just gorgeous. Jacuzzi was very clean, and very relaxing after a long day of walking.

WiFi is spotty at best, nonexistent at worst. There are many WiFi extenders placed around the hotel, but they don't do what they're meant to. The hotel is mindful of their climate impact, asking guests to not put their towels in for cleaning if not required, etc. I love this approach, and it is very important to me, but having the fan AND aircon turn off when leaving the room made for hot evenings, working the aircon in over-time to cool the room down enough to sleep. The water from the taps is also warm, so cool showers also out of the picture. Sits on two one-way streets, so taxi/Grab charges more for pick-up/drop-off in these areas.

The decorations and I love how cosy it feels. The location is superb. You can walk out and take a stroll around Georgetown. It's also 10 min walk from the Bee hwa cafe and jeruk stalls. The room is huge! Bed is comfortable. Room is clean and jacuzzi is strong. Strong AC.

The staircase to the rooms. I booked a transfer service and you'll need to take a staircase up to the room. I was travelling with my 2 kids age 2 and 4, so I was carrying my stroller up the stairs daily, with my shopping bags, not an easy feat. Not the fault of the hotel. Just fyi for this travelling with young children. The shower area needs to be renovated. It has old stains which is gross. So we showered in the jacuzzi.

Penaga has its exquisite charms. We stayed at Clarke Terrace and we love the ambience, however it need a little bit more care on the maintenance, for instant the sofa in the living area-we dare not sit more than 2 person eventhough it can fit up to 5 person in one sitting. The floor pattern is beautiful but we would appreciate an extra maintenance as it kind of feel a bit dusty once we take off our socks. The garden next to jacuzzi need a little bit more care as it look tired. The rooms are spacious with high ceiling, and stunning Peranakan interior, but for the size of the room it should have King size bed instead of queen. On overall, you'd love the vibes

Parking. Penaga located in strategic location where presumably once you're able to find a parking upon your arrival, then you can roam around by feet, but finding one would be a bonus. Maintenance of the bath-one of the WC need minor repair as they're water leakage coming from the cistern. Ceiling in the bath, eventhough comes with beautiful carving, some of the part are broken along with some watermark. The pantry comes in awesome arrangement but the counter top of the pantry require extra care as it already shown signs of watermark by the water from the sink

Big room, comfortable bed, huge bathroom with jacuzzi and shower. Great location.

I wasn't informed about the fact that the pool and gym were out of bounds at the time of booking. There was no information on the app or via private message. I was told about it at the time of check in.

The location is good with few shops open for sahur as we're in the fasting month. The view from the balcony is remarkable. I like it that we can store our luggage although we're unable to check in early due to their rooms we're fully occupied.

There's water leakage beneath the jacuzi making the floor wet most of the time. I wish the tv is easier to operate like most android tv. Switched on but no program available.

Paid for jacuzzi but it didn’t work. The balcony had 2 air conditioners occupying the space. Shower room does need repairing.

Jacuzzi might have been leaking, shower cubicle was dirty and grimy. It had not been throughly cleaned.. Bfast selection was very limited, not much to choose from.. Might do with improving this and the cleanliness of the bathroom as well.That definitely needs to be seen to and rectified immediately

the jacuzzi hot tub is the bomb, the main attraction as to why I chose this hotel

dust and dirt can be seen in the corners of the bed and edges in the room, uncleaned and weren’t vacuumed by housekeeping. cleanliness could be further improved. parking availability is another issue, at certain times esp daytime, finding a parking for your car can be pretty hard.

All four of us went to Penang on a business trip and wanted a hotel in a central location. At first we wanted to take up 3 separate rooms but found out there's a "family" unit consisting of 3 rooms, perfect... we didn't know it was for a whole house (converted old shohouse) and was pleasantly surprised we got the whole house to ourselves and at a cheaper price than 3 separate rooms at the main hotel (across the road).

There was only a single (key) lock at the front door which directly goes onto the sidewalk and main street, therefore an addition of a manual latch (together with the main keylock) would be nice as it would enable us to feel much safer and secure as the door leads directly to the main road.

Although this hotel has positive aspects, there are a few areas for improvement. The bathroom shower only provided lukewarm water instead of hot water, which was disappointing. Additionally, the breakfast spread was less extensive than expected. However, the hotel still offers a spacious and convenient stay in a prime location with good value for money. Addressing these issues would enhance the overall guest experience and make the stay even more enjoyable.
