I arrived late, after midnight and the receptionist was expecting me. The next morning when the manager realised I had stayed perviously in 2019, she upgraded me. My room was well appointed and quiet. The internet speed was fast and the connection stable. The bed was comfortable. The water pressure in the bathroom is good and the hot water supply constant. Housekeeping made up the room when I required it. The breakfast had six options, and a good choice of hot/cold drinks. All of the staff are polite, professional and very helpful. The location is great, within walking distance of many restaurants, convenience stores, launderette, massage shops and also the nightlife area. Overall a great stay and I would have no hesitation in returning to stay again in the future.

The only negative comment I can make, is that the cable TV only has one channel currently available. This wasn't a problem for me, because the internet speed was sufficient for streaming, but for families travelling with kids, the lack of some kid's TV channels might cause disappointment. Also some news channels and maybe a movie channel would be a good idea.

Beautiful traditional hotel with British colonial-style decor. Room and bathroom were good size, clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was pretty decent and the location is quite central. Rooftop wine terrace was also a great touch.

The pool is probably better off being a pond in my opinion, the photos possibly exaggerate it's depth! Breakfast only allow one dish and one drink per person, I would have liked to have more than one drink!

the room is hugee! love it. love the environment. the rooftop terrace will look awesome at night. convenient parking facilities. walking distance to nearby attractions; street art, food.

i suggest the hotel can opt for buffet breakfast just a basic continental breakfast. it will be much more worth with the price guest paid and will be convenient for guest as set style is time consuming. we reserve our breakfast set at 9am but when we come down, have to wait for 40 mnts for the food. so hotel can consider buffet style.

Western-style breakfast was very good. The staff is very helpful and nice. Good location to travel around the old town in George Town. It's a good choice to stay in Penang.

The television in the room has limited channels. Parking is available but limited.

Th hotel is quite instagrammable and photogenic. Staffs are friendly and willing to help. Location is strategic as it is close to eatery eg The New World Park Food City.

There are limited options for breakfast in the hotel. The waiting time for breakfast took very long (1 hour). There were loud noise of wood on the floor although we tried our best to step on it very gently. The room service was not automatic. You need to tell the receptionist that you need the cleaning.

Heritage building in a quiet area away from tourist spots. Large room with good air conditioning and fan. Lovely roof terrace to sit in sun or shade.

Breakfast was an limited selection of set menus.

The toilet couldn't flush in room 112. When complained to the receptionist, she says nothing can be done as the maintenance guy is not in. She couldn't even go all out and at least lent us a bucket so we could easily flush the toilet.

The character of the place is great with the beautiful staircase, wood, tile floors, high ceiling and even though it is a little farther walk to the street art and center, it is much quieter. We were in a corner room with nice big king size bed and plenty of space. There are also no rooms above the main first floor, so we really didn't hear other guests. A decent breakfast is served 8-10 am. Georgetown is hot and the AC in our room worked well. We also chose this since there was free parking in their lot, as parking in town can be a nightmare.

You need to be prepared for finicky light switches, and we had difficulty getting the toilet to flush--its an old building. We were unable to use the safe because it was opened and in lock position, so we could not close to enter a code. I asked to get it fixed but didn't get anyone to tend to it. The rooftop deck is beautiful, but the bar is no longer open. I would also not count on the "pool" advertised as it is really only a shin-deep fountain and you can't really swim in it at all--it's nice to look at and maybe dip your feet?

The location is very reachable and I can visit several touristic places easily. Breakfast was good and delicious.

My room has no view

The rooms were really well decorated! Breakfast was good overall. Especially the first day during our stay, a good variety due to more customers. Second day was not as good when we need to pick from the menu.

The toilet was leaking during our stay.
