Basically everything: location is perfect, close to the busy streets with pubs and bars on one side, local food on the other; bus station to national park 2 minutes away if you don't feel like taking a cab. The receptionist guy was super friendly, super smiling, gave us good tips to find places; great experience The bed was really comfortable (not the soft type), no view from the garden but we knew what to expect; clean, good water pressure... Yep. Basically everything

We could hear some furniture moving from neighbor above (not loud but could disturb someone with light sleep); but I guess it's inevitable in this kind of shop house. Honestly we slept really well in any case.

Nam Keng Hotel was exceptional in the following areas for my recent solo stay: 1) room was big and comfortable and well equipped with the necessary amenities 2) the front desk staff, Ms Priya and Mr Tharan were always on hand to make sure my stay was comfortable. I managed to follow some of Mr Tharan’s excellent recommendations on where to eat in Georgetown. 3) Location was within walking distance to all the good food in Georgetown.

Small quiet hotel. Centrally located and walking distance from a lot of happening places. Super friendly staff. The family room was large enough for three persons. Nice bathroom with latest fittings.

Breakfast is very basic and the same things repeated every day. However, this was known and wasn't a surprise for us. I suppose for a small hotel it is difficult to have a lot of variety. Quantity available was plenty and it serves the purpose.

Perfect location, walking distance to the main square, the street art, upside down museum, street food stalls, cafes and bars etc all about 10 minute walking radius. The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly and the decor was great too.

The only thing (nothing to do with the hotel) but when putting the hotel into Google maps it would navigate me to the wrong hotel, about 100 metres up the road. All you have to do though is keep on walking past it, following the one way street down until you find Nam Keng on your right.

The staff were friendly and welcoming from when I arrived to when I departed. The hotel is exactly what I expected a quaint converted Malaysian Chinese house into a hotel. The room was the perfect size for a solo traveller and would be for 2 people as well. There is only a handful of rooms so it's not to busy. They let me check in early without any hesitation.

Walking distance to all the food places. The unit is at ground floor but very good soundproofing, hence not noisy and convenient for seniors! Beautiful property with friendly staffs.

Although soundproofing was good there are still occasionally noises from the inside of the property when other guests return and talk in the main hall.

What a bang for the bucks. This gem is E&O level historical style for just around 40€ per night. Beautiful vintage interior style with perfect A/C. Very large rooms with lots of storage space and great fridge. Located in the middle of the core center, the Nam Keng Hotel is set very quiet. Almost nothing from the street is noticeable although we had a room towards the street. Very good concierge service. Would recommend!

The bed is extremely hard. Windows towards the street cannot be opened, but is okay with A/C. We had a flickering light on the outside that should be fixed - curtains covered it at night though.

Staff are nice and helpful. The room has everything a normal visitor would need while remain the vintage vibe. The washroom is unexpectedly good - very clean and much bigger than I thought. The hot water supply was very stable and the shower head was strong.

The ceiling fan was not working in the breakfast/dining area. Unluckily for travellers who like to “da bao” / takeaway like me.

Location definitely. The hotel is near to various eateries which is super convenient.

Ha ha ha, the stairs are a bit steep. Without any lift, it will be a bit inconvenient when moving our luggages to rooms at level 2.

For us the location was the greatest benefit of the stay. It is within walking distance to all that matters in the city. Staff was kind and helpful and rooms are clean. The building has a nice flare.

The breakfast is limited, few options & the same each day. The windows in the room cannot be open and it's pretty loud so make sure you pack earbuds. ☺️
