pricey I had a private room as I wasn’t feeling too well, but the dorms were rather expensive I saw nice rooftop terrace, that wasn’t utilised at all, a shame

I loved Meson Amelia from the moment I arrived! The staff greeted me so kindly and gave me great advice for San Miguel. Everything was sparkling clean. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were nice. Breakfast was great, they ask about allergies and preferences at check in. The female dorm with attached bathroom is really convenient, the shower works great. This place is perfection! All the other guests were sweet and courteous when I was there. The walk into the historic center is a delight, San Miguel is a living art gallery. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you, Meson Amelia! You are one of the very best! You create the high mark that other hotels can only hope to aspire to.

This is without a doubt the best place we've ever stayed! It is pretty close to downtown but without the city noise. The San Miguel Arcangel temple and park is only a 7-9 minute walk, the Mercado de Artesanias is a 5 minute walk. It was our first time in a meson, which was very clean and comfy. The room was amazing, quite, and beautiful decorated, first room I have ever stayed in with a freshener; it might be small for some but it was very convenient for us. The meson is also cheaper than all of the places downtown I checked (and I checked for a lot). Parking (valet parking) and breakfast are included for free. I am from Mexico and I can tell you that Sam's cooking is delicious, so take advantage of that. Also, the staff is the friendliest staff I have ever met. Fernanda and company (sorry, I didn't catch the lady's and the other girl's name at the kitchen and reception) were amazing; they made us feel at home. If you plan to visit San Miguel de Allende, I highly recommend to stay at Meson Amelia, you won't regret it!

the hostal is in the Guadeloupe area filled with good restaurants and lots of murals painted on the homes. The breakfasts are great, like homemade egg and chorizo enchiladas, juice, coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt, and cereal, yes, it’s a huge breakfast! The dorm rooms are smell, but have their own bathroom with towels, soap, and wash cloth included. The main court area is clean, good wi-fi, and a friendly place to meet others. There is a bar and the restaurant makes great good. The homemade guacamole is highly recommended. The staff is friendly and helpful. SAM is a great cook and manages to make everyone his friend. I highly recommend this hostal. the hotel rooms are good sized, clean, well furnished, and large, good showers. I truly loved my days here. The walk to the Jardin Allende (where most activities happen) is just a safe 10 minute walk.

the bunk beds in the dorm could use curtains and a shelf to place your phone on.

The proximity to the main square and at the same time in a residential area away from the hustle. Sam was excellent in my interactions, a great breakfast to top. Very nice common area with ample room to chill, if you are here in summer, you can escape the heat and also get sun if you arrive in the cold.

Nothing which was negative in my short stay. Only feedback would be is to add a chair in the dorm room since the bunk beds have a low height and sitting can be a challenge.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food is incredible! Chef was trained at the 4 Seasons for 5 years! Sofia.,the receptionist, made sure to wait up for me despite my late check in and continued to portray so much kindness, whether its recommendations, additional asks such as lockers, access to coffee etc. The rooms were kept very clean and the common area was well lit and decorated. Would never go anywhere else if I ever come back!

Decor, friendly staff, airy atmosphere, responsive service, value. Comfortable beds, no a/c but ceiling fan was adequate. Bathroom small but adequate. Near the main street to the center of town. Many cabs close by, 70 pesos to the Zocolo and main square.

As older guests the stairs were a bit of a challenge. Also, there are MANY uneven surfaces,marked, but walking requires vigilance! Cuidado! Careful!

Most welcoming hostel I’ve been to in a long time! Sam went out of his way to make me feel at home, gave great recommendations and the breakfast was next level (try the chillaquilles). The location is perfect, just a short walk into the city center, but real quiet at night.

The breakfast is awesome, so delicious and they change the menu that's unexpected.

it's also a restaurant, customers talked too loud and the voices is annoying, but after 22:00 the restaurant closed will be fine. 4 beds bunk bed female room is small and the door is very difficult to open.

Nicely decorated, different breakfast everyday, an easy walk to shops, restaurants, the Artisan market and the main market where we had lunch most days. The was a sunny roof top patio where I went to read during to day.

The common areas are open air, so a touch chilly in the morning for breakfast. Take a cozy wrap.
