I loved everything about this place. The owner and staff were fantastic - friendly and really helpful. It really enhanced our stay to have input on what to see and where to go as well as the recommendation of a driver who was terrific too. The place was really well set up with common areas like the pool, dining area and kitchen available in a home - like set up. There are only 8 rooms so there was never a sense of it being crowded. Breakfast was in a separate room with a lovely big table laid with place settings. Every day there was fresh fruit, eggs, toast, juice and coffee to start the day. The kitchen staff were lovely, I think this is probably the best hotel of this kind I have ever stayed in. My whole trip exceeded my expectations and that was because of staying at this hotel.

Not a thing.

Merida was beautiful and this property is right in the heart of it all. We walked everywhere. The hotel is unique and pretty. The owner, Matt, made us feel like we were family. He looked after every detail to ensure that we were happy and relaxed. Matt recommended a private driver as we did not rent a car and it was so worth it! Raphael took us to Uxmal and Celestune in comfort. We had the best time swimming in Cenotes and visiting the Hacienda and The Uxmal Ruins - we had lots of laughs even though Raphael did not speak English and we stumbled around with our Spanish; we used Google translate and had so much fun communicating. The breakfast at Casa Flor de Mayo was good. We felt like part of the family every morning as our breakfast was made and served by the same lovely ladies in the quaint kitchen/eating area which is attached to the property. It feels like a restaurant but also feels like Grandma's house :) The restaurants around this property are awesome. We visited Michaela - thank you Matt for arranging the reservation - AMAZING dining experience! If we are in Merida again, we will stay here. Thank you Edgar for bringing coffee to me by the pool each day "Un café con leche, por favor" haha! Hope that's right! A wonderful week!

For me, not a big deal but I thought the bed was a little bit small and the water pressure at the property is quite low but these things did not affect my happiness. We stayed for a week and found that sometimes it was a bit noisy (guests closing doors loudly) but again, did not bother us.

The hotel is really very nice and tastefully decorated - both the backyard with the pool and the interior common areas (dining room, kitchen, etc.) It is a combination of traditional Mexican colors and materials with modern facilities. The building is also nice from the outside, from the street. One of the staff, Edgar, was very helpful - he finds out what you want to see and what you like and gives you his personal recommendations, writing everything down on a piece of paper. He is very personable and interested in what you want to visit.

Even though I was given a bright room on the second floor according to my request, I still had to close the blinds because everybody could watch to my room from the hallway. At night, the hallway light shone into the room, which I always had to go manually turn off. But what bothered me the most was the noise. During the first nights I heard constant whistling or beeping (probably from a factory?) - but that could have been solved by turning on the air conditioning, which drowned out the noise. Other night there was bad noise from the renovation (they are building a park nearby) and the last night I could hear noise from some party nearby.

very nice hotel with lovely decor and beautiful living room and pool area. the location is great as there are plenty of restaurants and bars at walking distance. however it is a bit of a walk from the CBD. the rooms are a good size, very clean, good shower with hot water and good water pressure. in general there is a lot of attention to details in the decor in the room and the whole hotel. breakfast is served next door and comes with fresh fruit, coffee/tea, juice, eggs and toast. the staff is extremly friendly and helpful and goes out of their way to help you organize trips etc. i can def recommend this place.

the rooms are very dark, there is hardly daylight coming in. the beds are a bit small for a couple and too soft for my taste. there is no tv, which was no problem for us. also, there is no safe.

All of the staff were excellent and hard working. Matt the owner and Edgar at the front desk were wonderful and so helpful in planning your day, booking tours, restaurants etc. Very attentive. Great to have the use of the communal kitchen that was very well appointed and spotlessly clean as was the rest of the property. Lovely relaxing indoor seating areas and outdoors around the pool.

Small issue with the toilet that they weren’t able to fix during our stay. However given their attention to detail we’re sure they will get it resolved.

The manager Matt and all his staff were incredibly helpful, made us feel like part of the family and they were all wonderful. They were all really knowledgeable about things to do and places to eat in Merida and their recommendations were always excellent. They were also happy to arrange taxis and excursions for us. Other guests in the hotel were friendly and it was a relaxed and informal place to stay. The rooms were decorated in Mexican style which was perfect.

Leaving, we would have liked to stay longer!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this small boutique hotel. It was comfortable, charming and beautifully decorated, but the best part was the extremely helpful and friendly staff. Edgar and Fred were always responsive and gave very helpful recommendations for restaurants and local sights, and the service from the other staff was also excellent. The hotel owner (Matt) was very welcoming and checked in with us several times to be sure our stay went well. Breakfast was also delicious and filling. I highly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again on future visits.

Can't think of anything to improve.

Wonderful boutique hotel at a great location close to the center, but in a quiet neighbourhood. Nicely furnished rooms. The whole hotel is very stylish. The owner and receptionist were very kind and also gave us some useful tips on what to see on our way through Mexico. The breakfast was also very good. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Small details like the bed being a bit too soft for our liking and the towels had a bit of a specific smell, but it was not too bad. We also had some trouble with the flushing the toilet, but we managed to temporarily fix it ourselves. We stayed only one night so we only mentioned it to the staff at our departure. I'm sure if we needed help they would quickly fix it, as the staff was so nice and helpful.

Everything!! I cannot say enough great things about this place. Great care has been taken to make this place special and unique. I extended my stay just to enjoy another night. Everything is charming: the rooms, the sitting area, the kitchen, the pool area, the cafeteria... Safe for women, solo, elderly travelers and young people looked to be having good fun too! If you want a a hotel experience, go to a hotel, if you want to have a real intimate, lovely experience, this is the best in Merida. Anyone who says different doesn't get the traveler's experience. Excellent location, with in 1 mile is the main avenue, historic points of interest, supermarket, restaurants and day journeys to other towns. Breakfast was lovely: fresh fruit, cake, toast, an egg dish that changed daily, tea, coffee, juice etc. Fresh made. As much drinking water as you need, a fridge for leftover food to eat later and a full kitchen. The staff is attentive, kind, genuine, hard working and understands hospitality. They extend happiness to the guests. Edgar, Housekeeping/Kitchen Ladies, Jorge, Juan, (And I know I am forgetting someone, so them too!) The owner was more than accommodating with giving recommendation, helping stressed out travelers fix problems and making sure I was prepared for my day journeys. (Even had a towel waiting by the front entrance door as left for the Cenote.) English & Spanish speaking. Very knowledgeable. The owner's son checked me in and was so nice, smiling, enthusiastic and had great food recommendations! This place has my heart!

There is so much we could write about this place! Everything was awsome. The location, the ambience, the comfort, the breakfast, the athmosphere, simply everything!!! But the most important and probably what made our round trip on the Yucatan peninsula unforgatable is the staff. We have never met such wonderful people. The hospitality we received from all of them was just mindblowing. Friendly, thoughtful, accomodating, helpful... there are not enough words to desrcibe all of them. Especially Edgar is a walking enciclopedia when it comes to tips and reccomendations, not only in Merida, but on the whole peninsula! The experience was so wonderful at this place, that we even stayed one more night there. We will never forget our trip to Merida thanks to all of you. Thank you so much!
