Amazing beautiful building and luxurious beds Elevator and Air Conditioning.

No card readers and cash only payment for a big hotel was unbelievable. No kettle in the room and no communal facilities to make tea or coffee. We were leaving at 730 AM to catch a flight but they said they can’t provide breakfast any earlier than their normal time of 0830 AM.When I said most hotels have flexible they have me pancakes but they were cold by next day morning. The staff are friendly but do very little to help you unlike many other hotels. Would have appreciated a cup of tea or coffee at 7 AM as we missed our breakfast !

The hotel is much nicer than expected for Morocco. The rooms are huge! Bathroom has a double door, bidet, bath tub and shower etc. The area is wonderful. As two female travelers we felt very safe in this hotel and location. The area is less crowded near the opening of the Medina. I regret only spending one night here. We should have skipped Agadir and stayed in essouira 2-3 nights. The spa on site is great. Breakfast on the terrace is nice.

Typical for Morocco: My back still hurts from the bed. The call to prayer starts early and seems to just keep going. Front desk staff was terse and not super helpful. No view from room. May be typical for riad. The terrace was not as cute as the rest of the hotel. They could add more decor there.

This riad is a real treasure! A mini palace will beautiful architectural features, tiles, carvings, and stone / wood. It was cool and soundproofed. The lavish style is a lovely contrast to the hustle and bustle of the medina, which is a bit dusty and grubby but fascinating. So, coming back to this riad felt like a sanctuary. The location is great, near the bus stop, at the beginning of the medina and near great restaurants and nightlife! The staff are really helpful and warm hearted this is what makes the stay extra special.

A plunge pool is always a bonus! Sadly, there is only a spa at an extra cost. More choice is needed for breakfast, which is largely bread in different shapes and forms.

Absolutely gorgeous and very affordable. Schedule massages (also very affordable) that were much better than what we usually get in the US. Rooms were very large and beautiful.

I realize we are foreigners in their country, but all the other riads and restaurants could speak some English. There were several at the front desk that we had a lot of trouble communicating with. Realizing also, we don't speak their language either! Just found that English was being used elsewhere to an acceptable level.

The Riad is Absolutely Beautiful . It is a piece of Art . Each room is more beautiful than the other and the restaurant is like to be in a west Andersen movie . It is the most beautiful restaurant we have ever been . The location of the Riad is more than perfect .

Breakfast was very limited and the server always harried us up to finish before 10.30 to leave the table because he needs to clean the dinning room . Surprisingly he didn’t harried up the Moroccan guest . Only the foreigners. Very disappointed.

The hotel was beautiful- you get your own beautiful suite with big bathroom and huge bath! The reception staff were nice and the continental breakfast very nice! The location is perfect too, just on the outside of the souk walls, central but quiet (except the church bells)

I’ve had a fantastic stay and felt like a princess living in a real palace. The location is ideal, just next to the port and medina. The room itself is massive and kept warm (even in December). The bed is huge and comfortable with clean bedding. Breakfast is nice, it is served in a restaurant or at the terrace (the choice is yours). The hammam and massage experience is very high standard! Staff members are friendly and helpful. Plenty photo opportunities at this riad. I couldn’t praise this place enough!

Unfortunately they have no iron 😔

I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Mumtaz Mahal and I must say, it was an enchanting experience that transported me to a bygone era. The architecture of this hotel is nothing short of breathtaking, making me feel like I had stepped into a different century altogether. Every corner of the hotel exudes an aura of historical grandeur, from the intricately designed archways to the beautifully adorned domes. The attention to detail in replicating the architectural styles of centuries past is truly commendable. The exquisite carvings, ornate patterns, and delicate motifs adorning the walls and ceilings were a visual feast for the eyes. As I walked through the corridors and lounges, I couldn't help but imagine the lives of those who might have lived in such splendid surroundings. What I found particularly captivating was the seamless blend of modern comfort with timeless elegance. The rooms were luxuriously appointed with all the amenities one could ask for, yet the architectural elements remained true to the historical theme. It was as if I was living in a palace from another era, complete with modern-day conveniences. The courtyard, with its lush gardens and serene water features, was a perfect spot to unwind and soak in the atmosphere. It felt like I was transported back in time, enjoying the tranquility of a distant past while being pampered with the service and hospitality of the present. The staff at Hotel Mumtaz Mahal were warm, attentive, and dedicated to ensuring a memorable stay. They were more than willing to share insights about the history and architecture of the hotel, adding an extra layer of depth to my experience.

This is the most beautiful palace i have ever had the chance to stay in! It is almost like a royal palace. There was so much work put into every single little detail! The rooms and hotel are sublime and detailed from ground to ceiling!! The bathroom was like a real private spa with giant bathtub! There was unlimited hot water so no issue to fill the big tub! Sweet Noella at the counter is just one of the sweetest hosts we met on our Maroccan journey!

- Breakfast was very chaotic and basic - NO CARD PAYMENTS..... 'machine is broken'..... Always the same excuse, i really dont like it when the owners think of themselves before the guests... In Essaouira its not easy to find cash and to pay for the room you need to take out money several times because of the limit imposed on ATM takeout..... A customer first mindset would never expect customers to have to search for hours after ATM just to pay the bill of a High end hotel.

We stayed in three riads on our trip to Morocco and this one was the most beautiful of all -- which is saying something. It truly feels like you're staying in a palace and the value is unbelievable. Service-wise, it was very good, though because it's also a spa & hammam, it feels a little more like a hotel than the family-run riads we stayed in elsewhere. The staff was very friendly and helpful, though, providing good local recommendations and providing a little extra care when our daughter was sick one day. Location-wise, I can't imagine something a whole lot better. This riad is right in the medina and a short walk from the beach and fish market. There is a wonderful ocean view from the rooftop.

This is a very minor thing, but it would have been nice to have tables that our group could have sat around on top of the roof. Everything up there felt more arranged for couples or a pair of people.
