The greeting at the arrival was spot on. The Riad itself has a beautiful courtyard that is decorated elaborately. It is located at a walking distance from the Blue gate and the El Glaoui palace . The rooms had comfortable beds and breakfast was a mixture of Moroccan flatbreads and eggs. Dinner on the roof top was very delicious.

Getting luggage to the Riad from the square where the vehicle can be parked costs the visitor 20 MD. However the Riad is only about 200-300 m from the square where you park the car. In the Tangier room, the bathroom is on the upper floor accessed through the room itself. Of course the common WC on the groundfloor was made accessible to guests so at nights,instead of climbing stairs you could go out of the room to relieve yourself rather than climb the stairs...

We booked a twin room at this beautiful Riad for two nights and ended up extending our stay for an extra night. The service and communication from the beginning was exceptional. We drove to Fes and needed to find parking, and we were met Oumayma who made the process a breeze. She then walked with us to the Riad, checked us in and showed us all of the facilities. It’s a stunning Riad in a great location. A little slice of quiet in the chaos of Fes, and right on the outskirts of the Medina, so everything was walking distance. We opted to have dinner there on the first evening up on the terrace, and did not regret it. It was a 3-4 course meal with some of the best tagines we’ve had in Morocco to date. Again, service was exceptional. Breakfast was wonderful each morning as well. This was a real highlight of our time in Morocco!

Our stay at this Riad Alya was absolutely delightful! The staff were not only great but incredibly kind, going above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. The cleanliness of the riad was impeccable, and the attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The food served was delicious, offering a taste of authentic Moroccan cuisine. I highly recommend this riad to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming stay in Fez.

The water didnt stay warm for long, so couldn't take a bath with warm water.

We loved our stay at Riad Alya. Welcoming Staff. Communication was perfect. They accommodated our vegetarian requests. We were arriving late - and they arranged late dinner service for us. We departed VERY early for the airport in Fes and they packed brown bag breakfasts for us to take with us. Rooms were large and spacious. Roof top terrace provided a beautiful view of the city. Our driver in a Van was not able to get to the street to Riad Alya - so the property sent a staff person and a person to manage our luggage in a trolley to help us get to the hotel! The same service was provided when we left our hotel early on our departure! That was key and they provided that for no extra fee except to tip the luggage person. Extra special service.

Everything was great!

The facilities were fabulous. The staff were so very friendly and helpful. The look and feel of the courtyard and dining area was amazing - very beautiful mosaic and stucco work on the archways and walls. The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed, large wardrobe and well appointed bathroom. The dining for both breakfast and dinner was wonderful with authentic home cooked Moroccan meals that were delicious! We also enjoyed the traditional Hammam and the relaxing massage available at the property.

It is located in the edge within the old town Medina and although a short walk to the market etc, it was not very easy to find your way around without a guide. When we ventured into the new town it was and a half hour walk but easy to navigate and interesting.

A beautiful stay with first class service from Lahcen, Hussein, Chaymae and Idriss, who made us feel so welcome and were always on hand re: recommendedations and booking things like tours, taxis, excursions, hammam etc. The riad is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful, traditional central courtyard and fountain and breakfast/dinner area. The whole place felt clean, comfortable, spacious, and is minutes from the heart of Fez. A real hidden gem/oasis that is close to the centre of the medina and also a place to get away from it all. Thank you so much for a wonderful time!

There could be more plug points and mirrors in the room itself.

Location 5min walk from the Medina but far enough to avoid having to experience the chaos. It was a peaceful island inside. Breakfast was lovely but dinner was superb. I would definitely recommend having dinner. We had ours on the terrace and it was lovely. The hammam was pleasant but be aware that is not like a Turkish hammam, more of a body scrab. Staff were accommodating and helpful and did their best to ensure we had a lovely time. 5 stars to the guy ( we don't recall his name) who served us dinner and breakfasts few times. He was so kind and lovely.

I think they should have a towel for face and hands and one for the shower. One towel for everything is not enough. When we asked they put the extra small towels but they should be a given. TV channels don't work , perhaps something worth looking into. The temperature of the shower was tiepid and not very hot, again not a deal breaker but it would have been nice to have hot water.

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Alya where we celebrated our anniversary. The hammam, rooftop terrace, interior garden with a fountain, in-house meals, and facilities were perfect. They also helped us arrange a stellar private guided tour of the city and put together a rooftop tea for us to watch the sunset over the city. A huge thanks to the staff, especially Chaymae and Houssain (our MVP!) that gave us a little slice of heaven in Fes.

The stay on this riad was extraordinary. They have good reviews, but we were still a bit sceptic about it until we arrived to the place. Indeed, it exceeded our expectations. Place is awesome, staff is super kind and helpful. One of the best overnight experiences ever.

There is nothing to complain about. Only positive reviews and very good memories from our stay in this riad. Deffinetly to be suggested to other visitors.

We loved the ambience, decor, rooms - and lovely, friendly helpful staff. The food was outstanding: we had some good meals in Fès, but none better than at the Ryad Alya. Our flight was late in, but a perfect meal was ready at 11pm - and later in our stay we enjoyed eating on the terrace looking out on the Medina. Everyone went out of their way to look after us - from leading us to car parking, carrying luggage, suggesting places to visit, taking delivery of things we had bought in the souk. Highly recommended- we shall return!
