The staff, flat out the staff They are all just great people. I've enjoyed every moment spend talking with them, it felt more like staying in someone's home than a "hotel". They've all be happy to answer any question I had, from food recommendations to temples, to places to see, to their culture. I spent some time not feeling well and they all took interest and even got some meds for me too. My room was great, the bathroom was a little small for my tastes, but I'm not too small to be honest, so thats no fault of theirs. The room size itself was great for just myself, I had plenty of room to keep my bags and still have plenty of room to walk around. The design of the room was great! I recommend the upgraded rooms I think they are way nicer (not that there's anything wrong with the cheaper rooms). The location was good too, literally a 2 min walk to Patan Darbar Square. Thames, Kathmandu Darbar Square are around 10min taxi ride away (depending on the time of day and traffic). If you're looking for the Hilton or Marriott this is not the place for you, but if you want a place that better reflects the culture and the warmth of the Nepalese people, this place will give you that. I'm grateful for my 11 days here with my new friends

Watch your head... I'm 5' 10" tall, and have bonked my head multiple times in my room on the bathroom and balcony doorways

People stay here for months at a time, and I can absolutely see why: the staff is simply amazing, the hotel itself is gorgeously and traditionally decorated, and the proximity to Patan's Durbar Square, in all its magnificence, is unbeatable.

Kathmandu is a busy central Asian city, full of music and festivals and a vibrant urban culture: a very light sleeper will need earplugs in even the most expensive luxury hotel. I didn't, in Temple House, but some people conceivably might - as with every other hotel in the city. Again, I dream of returning to Patan for a longer stay than five days, and I would absolutely stay at Temple House for the entire duration. It is amazing.

All of the staff were beyond amazing, always going out of their way to help me with anything I needed. Breakfast was delicious and huge. The room was amazing. I felt like it was my home away from home and will definitely stay when I am back. I was a first time visitor to Nepal and everyone I know that had been there recommended staying in Thamel but my gut instinct said no. I made the right decision (Thamel is a shot motorbike or car ride away). Coming back to Temple house felt like returning to a sanctuary. Patan is absolutely beautiful.

For a start, Temple House is one of the few hotels which accommodate late check ins and an airport pick up, which is highly recommended if you arrive at ungodly hours like we did. Temple House occupies a corner of a traditional block of accommodation, with rooms overlooking both the middle courtyard and a single alleyway leading to the Durbar Square. We were warmly welcomed in the middle of the night. WiFi was sorted, and the schedule and order for breakfast was also noted. With a traditional interior, the room is quite cozy and homely for a start. The handful of staff attending to the guests are very kind, thoughtful and always smiling.

While basic amenities are available at Temple House, it sometimes could get a bit complicated to maneuver a change of clothes. Head room in the room is set at traditional standards and hence I’ll advice relatively taller guests to specifically book rooms at the higher levels, which has got more head room than Levels 1 and 2. As the property is located in a bustling neighbourhood, the surrounding activities could get a bit noisy especially for those who want to have a sound late sleep.

Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful, starting from the owner, to Sahas, who's the manager and Rajesh and Cheeranjeevi. It is a traditional Newari-style building and the room is very tastefully decorated.

This is not necessarily a negative, but for people with knee problems and elderly people, the stairs might be difficult to manage. This however is a feature of the traditional architecture.

We had a very short one night stay in this hotel, but it really did an impression on us. This hotel is ancient compared to where we stayed in Nepal before. The historical atmosphere of this place is definitely worth the money. The traditional architecture, furniture, in room amenities are very rare in hotels. No elevators, but the staff will carry your luggage up the stairs. We really enjoyed it. The reception staff was very helpful, everything was well organised. If you stay in Patan area, I really recommend this place.

We stayed in Temple house for 6 nights in 2 rooms. The location was great. But the friendliness of all staffs, manager and the owner was exceptional. If someone is looking for proper Nepalese living and hospitality , this place will be perfect. They were there for any help needed during our stay.

Someone may find the height of the rooms are uncomfortable, but this is how the traditional Nepalese houses used to be. They offered us to move to higher floor rooms with more heights as it was available, but we chose to continue in the lower rooms.

Absolutely the best place to stay in Kathmandu, the rooms are fantastic as well as the staff that makes you feel at home, the breakfast is magnificent and the restaurant nearby overlooking the beautiful Durbar square has the best terrace view as well as a nice menu. Let them arrange for you tours with their unique and reliable taxi driver to discover hidden gems on different one-day trips at unbeatable prices. Simply the best option while visiting Nepal! We will come back here to stay there every possible time.

That we would have planned to stay longer

What an absolute gem! This is a small locally owned guesthouse consisting of 14 rooms. It’s built in the Newar style with brick, plaster walls, and lots of carved wood and beautiful wooden windows. Perfectly situated right off the Durbar Square, it is absolutely central to all the wonders of Patan. As a solo woman, I felt incredibly safe, the staff here are all very kind and checked in with me to see if I needed anything throughout my stay. Breakfast was good, just enough to start my day! The bed was comfortable, not hard, but not too soft. Linens and everything were spotless. my room was quite large, two single beds were put together to make a large one and then there is a large sitting area as well. There is no AC but a fan is provided and that was perfect. Like pretty much every place else, there is no elevator and the stairs are quite narrow but that is all keeping with the historical elements of the building.

Location: The hotel is located in the heart of Patan. we could walk to events at Krishna temple. Hotel ambiance: The whole hotel is decorated with traditional wood carvings and status. It was amazing. Staff: The staff was very prompt and polite. everyone was very informative and ready to assist. There are good restaurants and shops around in the walkable distance. Overall it's a 10/10 hotel :)

All good. Just check if the room allocated has A/C or not before arriving. The staff is very accommodative that should not be a problem
