The decor is very unique and the people that work there are awesome. The room was about the right size for what we needed and all of the records on the walls made for fun times with us trying to work out the artists etc. There was also a drum being used as a lampshade and a rockstar like vanity mirror in the room. I was made to feel like I'd made the right decision in booking a stay here. The hotel is easily accessible by tram, but if you're crazy like I am, then it's about a 25 minute walk from Centraal Station.

They have a service where you can borrow a record player and some records to go with it, but the record player was a bit dodgy. In fairness, I was warned that it could be a little flaky.

This hotel is an absolute dream find. You will feel like an actual rockstar from the moment you enter. The amount of artists who have visited Amsterdam to play sold out gigs, stay at this hotel and sign their names on the walls, year upon year, only begins to paint a picture of how wonderfully creative and fun the atmosphere is. If you are a musician, like myself, you will really appreciate what this place stands for. Vince was so lovely. He actually couldn't have helped us more. He was so incredibly welcoming, helpful and friendly. He told us where to party, where to eat, what to miss and what not to. We even spotted and sat with him for a chat during a night out on the street that he said we should go for a dance!! If you want to stay in a place where the staff seem to really care about you having a BRILLIANT time and then returning to do it all again ... you have found it.

Our best decision for our stay in Amsterdam was choosing the Backstage Hotel! From the very second we booked a room we got all the help and directions we needed. The staff were always so nice and helpful, the room was clean and sooo beautifully designed and the location of the hotel is absolutely PERFECT. As a couple of musicians this hotel felt like home to us. We highly recommend to book a room at this place for your next stay in Amsterdam, and we'll definitely come back... *Don't forget to buy their tshirt. They're so awesome.

We wish we could stay for a little longer...

Loved the ambience with the music theme and convenient location to beautiful Amsterdam. Very welcoming staff and helpful with directions and allowing us to leave our luggage in the hotel on our last day beyond the checkout time. Our rooms were a good size and were quirky. Shower was good. Really enjoyed the breakfast and atmosphere. Thank you.

We were separated from our children with us in the basement and them on the 4th floor. It was a bit cold on a night in the basement. Some of the guests needed to learn about being quieter at really unsociable hours, but that is no fault of the hotel!

I enjoyed the uniqueness of the rooms. The whole place had a backstage theme throughout. The reception desk staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, and English was certainly understood. there was a small bar area, gaming area, and place where guests could socialize. Plus, they stored our bags after our stay so that we could explore the city a little more before our train out. Would stay here again.

I didn't mind them because they add character and a challenge, and many of the houses and establishments in Amsterdam have them, but the steep narrow staircases may be a challenge for those with physical limitations And no, there is no elevator.

Stayed for one night for a concert in Melkweg, which is literally a one minute walk, so perfect! It's a cool music themed hotel with very friendly staff and nice rock and roll rooms. The room was on the small side but very cosy and comfortable! Loved the vinyl-coved walls and the cool make-up mirror with the light bulbs around it. We also got an upgrade to a room with a private bathroom, which was so sweet! We really enjoyed it here!

The rooms are pretty small but we didn't have a problem with that, we actually found it pretty cosy and you still get a bit of locker space, a small make-up table, a safe and bedside tables, so for us it wasn't a problem.

We stayed in Back Stage hotel for a reason - we want to feel atmosphere of music and that´s happend. We visited Amsterdam to see Siousxie for the first time, this hotel is great choice in case you want to visit a gig. There is a Paradiso music club and closer to hotel also Melkweg - we found out the Backstage Hotel is a real backstage of Melkweg:) Breakfast was very tasty and very stylish - vinil labels used as a bowl for bread etc. Staff was very helpful, kind and funny, in general this hotel was a very good choice.

Hello! The stay was amazing! Everything exceeded our expectations! I stayed with a friend and we just enjoyed everything so much! The hotel itself is perfectly situated. Everything is so close. We thought that we would be using a lot of transports but we ended up walking everywhere because the location was perfect. Then, the hotel itself was so cute! It had such a good vibe. Once you enter you are immersed in this amazing backstage decor. The decor is so well done, even the rooms are so well decorated. And in the end our stay was amazing because of the staff. They are so friendly and it made us feel so welcome. thank you

Maybe if we had something to point out. It’s that the room on the -1 level are a bit noisy because it’s situated right new to the road where the tram is. But it didn’t bother us, we could sleep tight and enjoy our stay.

The Property was central to all attractions. Hotel was very clean, well equipped including a hairdryer, towels and shampoo. Rooms are fun and quirky, staff friendly and very helpful. No kettle in the room but they offer free tea and coffee which is a lovely gesture. Continental breakfast had a good selection, meats cheese eggs and croissants etc and good value. Great hotel with bar, free pool table homely and friendly will definitely be back.

The stairs they are small and narrow ask for a room on the first floor 🤣

We needed a late check-in due to a late arriving flight. The outer door was locked with no answer but the phone number was available with our booking information. After that everything just got better. Comfortable, clean, friendly, helpful. Kind and happy people. The breakfast was a treat. My companion who has never said these words before said he "liked the vibe". I would have stayed longer but they were booked.
