Beautiful ensuite room in a Canal House. Decorated to a really hi spec and the bed was super comfy. Good central location near shops, bars and restaurants. Despite being so central the street was quiet and we slept really well.

Small gripe, but it wasn't made clear that the bag drop company around the corner was free of charge to guests staying at The Sixteen. Plus the TV remote had no batteries so the TV did not work. We mentioned this to housekeeping.

all was as we expected

exterior signage was non existent which made the hotel very difficult to find at night, in the driving rain

This property was in the perfect location with only a small walk to the district. We were a big fan of the Bluetooth door locks for both the main door and the room door as this meant we could have easy access from our phones as well as our key cards. Aswell as this the rooms were very nice and modern and really gave us that Amsterdam experience.

The only thing we would criticise about this property would be the stairs being steep and tight however we understand they are town houses and it is all part of the experience. We are a young couple so this didn’t come as much as a problem to us however for older guests this could be a future struggle if they are not fully noticed of this.

The location was great because it was close to the station. The bathroom was very nice, with both a bath and a shower. The design of the building was very pleasant.

The stairs are quite narrow and steep, which isn't ideal when having heavy/multiple luggages. This can be problematic due to the lack of an elevator. In our personal case, our electric lock of the door stopped fonctioning. They did fix the issue swiftly on a short term by moving us to another room since they couldn't manage to repair the lock in a short amount of time, so we were lucky we could change rooms.

The hotel was extremely well situated next to a canal and only 5 minutes walk from Amsterdam Central Rail Station. It looked exactly like the photo which made it easy to see on arrival. The room was wonderful and had everything we could want and more. It would have been lovely to have a kettle to make ourselves a cup of tea but there was a Nespresso coffee machine and pods for this were supplied. The bed was exceedingly comfortable and the sheets and duvet of a high quality and all very clean. The bathroom was wonderful, with a heated floor and there were toiletries for our use plus vanity sets, shower cap and a shaving box including a small razor and shaving gel. There was a deep bath as well as a shower with really great water pressure. The whole room was very special to walk into. The holographic reception was a whole new and interesting experience and check in was simple and explained well.

We couldn't work out how to use the heating easily and there were no instructions. However, we could easily have asked the reception for help with this. There wasn't really anything we didn't like, just difficulty in using appliances. For example we have never used a coffee machine and couldn't get the tv to work with Netflix. A simple guide in the room would have been helpful. However, these things did not detract from our stay.

The location of the hotel is very central, you can reach the train station by walking for a maximum of 5 minutes. Even though it is a historical building, the rooms were very well renovated, the room was larger, cleaner and more stylish than we expected.

We could not use the self-check-in experience due to the power outage at the hotel on the day of our stay. Since the situation was the same all day, we had problems checking in and communicating with the hotel team, and even had to wait at the outside door for a long time in the evening. However, the hotel team later refunded the amount we paid and provided us with a quality customer experience.

The room is spacious with a high ceiling and charming wood beams. its prime location near the train station and Chinatown makes it an excellent choice, with various tourist attractions just a few minutes walking distance. And lots of dining options are available around the hotel. This is our first experience with the innovative holographic reception, unusual but very convenient. The check-in process, conducted online prior to arrival, was remarkably straightforward. Despite arriving early and being unable to check in immediately, the hotel provided a convenient drop-and-go service for luggage, located nearby and complimentary for the hotel's guests.

We stayed on the 2nd floor. The stairways were cramped and had a curved design making it inconvenient with our large luggage. The room itself lacked sufficient cabinets and shelves, resulting in our belongings being scattered across the floor when we unpacked our family luggage. Despite the chilly weather in Amsterdam during our December visit, we still need the cold drinks in the room so it would be nice to have a fridge to store beverages or snacks. Another suggestion for improvement would be to have an extra mirror in the bedroom, separate from the bathroom. This way, when one person is using the bathroom, others can still get dressed or apply makeup using the mirror in the bedroom.

Check-in process was very easy (communicating with the hologram was unexpected but cool). The location is perfect - just a few minutes from the central train station. We walked everywhere to go sightseeing. Lots of restaurants nearby. Our room was really cosy and with lovely canal view. None of the street noise could be heard in the room which was great. Mind you the stairs to the upper floors are really steep so if you can't/ don't want to climb you should ask for a room on a lower floor.

The window facing the canal could not be opened.

Very nice modern furnishings in the room, clearly renovated recently. What we won't forget about our stay is the check-in experience - clearly it's a beautiful renovated old-style Amsterdam townhouse so very little room for a reception. So we had our receptionist appear in a hologram in a box who was clearly speaking to us and helping us check in. Very cool experience!

Bedroom was definitely missing out on some key furnishings that would have made it a lot better. For example there was only a mirror in the bathroom and the bedroom could definitely have done with one too, and there was only one chair. Also nowhere to hang up any coat or shirt, so for this reason I wouldn't recommend this room for business travellers. Also eco policies could be a bit better - no need to change all the towels, toilet paper, toiletries every day. I would be happy if they were just replaced when needed.

The location was great if you want to be close to the train station or city center. The check in was very easy. We loved that it was in an old building. The AC worked wonderfully and the shower has fabulous pressure.

I would’ve loved to have had a top sheet and wash clothes but it wasn’t the worst thing not having them. There was no where to get water or ice so leaving water in the room would’ve been really nice. There was some mold around the glass in the shower but that would be a quick fix by the owners.
