Very nice hotel, situated in a quiet area, on a lake. The swimming pool is not too small, you can take a relaxing walk around the lake. The restaurant is quite good if you stick to local dishes (don’t try Thai food, it has nothing to do with the original). Good service, friendly staff. The location is far from the city center, but if you are in Groningen for a vacation, this is a very good option.

No ventilation in the bathroom. The lighting is poor, especially in the bathroom, amplified by the questionable choice of color - grey/black. One day, the maid just left a couple of towels on the bed, without cleaning the room or making the beds - it was strange, I can’t remember a similar situation in another good hotel.

A very nice place to stay while in Groningen- great location by the lake, so you have beautiful views and peacefulness. Can't walk to the city center though - it's a bit far, but there is a bus stop nearby. You can also rent a bike at the hotel (or a boat!). Spacious free parking just at the front. Friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. Clean and comfortable rooms although might give you a gloomy impression at first due to dark interior design. Very quiet. Worth recommending! :)

The only thing - when we asked to have our room cleaned in the middle of our stay, we expected our rubbish bins to be emptied, but it didn't happen, which was a bit surprising, but overall impression really good. :)

Excellent room and bed. Breakfast with a lot of choices. Very helpful service at the welcome desk. A lot of free parking space available in front of the hotel.

The airco in the room was a bit cold and even after switching off it kept on blowing. Just to be clear, not a fault of the hotel organisation, the city of Groningen was working on the one and only road allowing access to the hotel which made it unaccessible. The only possibility was driving with the car over a bike path, which made bikers angry (understandable).

The hotel offers a free shuttle on weekends which is very useful because the hotel is around 40min by foot and 20min by bike from the city center. The reception is open for all questions and very friendly. The room was spacious with an amazing view - the bed was very comfortable. The room has a free electric kettle for tee or coffee. The swimming pool is a bit small but more than enough.

One bed had no nightstand or night lamps. There were no tissues in the bathroom. The restaurant was not vegan-friendly other than oat milk.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. The location is both lovely and not convenient. Lovely because of it's beautiful setting by the lake, not good because of its lack of access to public transport.

Lack of access to public transport. Walking 10-15 min to a bus stop that has a bus once every so often is no problem on a sunny day but if it's wet and windy it's not great. For a holiday, the hotel and bedrooms feel quite 'corporate'. When we first arrived our daughter joked she felt she was going to work. That said, the location by the lake is lovely and offers some great walks.

Splendid location. Splendid view from our room. Very spacious rooms. Great breakfast - a lot of items to choose from. You can also request fried egg. Laundry facilties were great.

Lack of water pressure in the shower. When we complained to the receptionist, he said the pressure is good and enough for him, without checking. Toilet and shower are separate, which might have its advantages, but toilet room is claustrophobic. Indoor pool could be bigger for such a grande hotel.

Friendly, helpful and competent staff Clean, stylish and functional rooms. Most important: Comfortable and not too soft mattresses.

I fully support the non-smoking policies inside. I also accept that smoking in the common outside areas of the hotel is discouraged. However, that there is no outside smoking area with seating and some protection from the weather at all, is not acceptable for me as a paying guest. If this is your policy, fine, but make this very, very clear for your patrons before booking.

Large bright hotel, with plenty of parking and lovely views and walks at the back of it. It also had free wi fi. We didn't pay the extra they wanted for breakfast opting to by something locally instead whilst on a walk around the surrounding area. We did however book into the restaurant on both evenings which had delicious food at reasonable prices with lovely staff and a lovely view. The double room was bright, spacious and very clean with coffee and tea making facilities which is always a bonus. The bathroom was also very clean, large enough and had a walk-in shower which was lovely. We had a delightful stay and spent a whole day in the sunshine going for a walk round the lake and local area. We would definitely recommend staying in this hotel.

It has a very nice location by a large lake with an amazing view over the water. The pool is really good with a comfortable temperature and brought much joy to our kids. The staff are friendly and the food in the restaurant is really nice. We had a family room for 4 persons in 2nd floor. The room was great with a good size and we were lucky to have a view of the lake. A big plus was also that there are plenty of parking boots and that we could charce our electrical vehicle free of charge.

The price is in the high end. But with that being said it is none the less a fair price, considering how nice the hotel is.

it is a very nice hotel. the facilities are very good. huge parking lots. love the breakfast.

have a little problem with the booking. we booked for 4 rooms but they only gave us 2 rooms at first. we have to complaint about this and then they gave us 1 more room. they gave us the large room anyway, so could accommodate all members of the family. the hotel should have done this better since we were travelling from out of town and already tired. it was so frustrating to find out that you did not have the room that you booked previously. the free breakfast was a good bargain since they have a good one.
