The accommodation is located at a picturesque spot next to the river Vecht in the small village of Oud-Zuilen. It’s only a 15 minute bus or bike ride to Utrecht Central, so it’s a perfect starting point for relaxing close to nature, but also for a city trip. The individual decoration of each room and the remarkable collection of antique artworks are truly one of a kind and provide an cozy atmosphere through the whole stay. At 17,50€/person the breakfast truly isn’t cheap, but with fresh fruits, eggs, different kind of breads, etc. it’s way more than I would have ever asked for and an experience that definitely should be tried while staying here. Last but not least, the hostess can fill a room with her warmness and friendliness, which is the reason why this was one of these few stays where you just feel „at home“. We were extremely happy with our three nights stay!

the property is located in a very quiet and beautiful area. the hotel is filled with very fun and quirky antiques. the breakfast was wonderful. by far the best part of the whole experience was the amazing attention given to us by Mabel who was our hostess. she made everything run smoothly with care and warmth.

The Interior is amazing, especially if you are tired of faceless all-white rooms. We spend hours checking all the artifacts in the hotel. The pace is surrounded by beautiful castles, buildings, channels, and fields, so it was a pleasure to walk around, and 30 minutes walk to the closest grocery shop was like a minute. The personnel is a dream too - thanks again to Mabel for the tour and amazing breakfast.

Keep in mind that the church next to the place is rings its bell each half an hour even at night.

This hotel is an old manor house with lots of eclectic and tasteful furnishings. One of our two rooms was on the first floor and, down a flight of stairs, had an attached "Speakeasy" room with a sitting area. A bit musty since it was below ground but had a great ambiance. However, we decided to drink our wine (they have bottles available for purchase on the honor system but we had a bottle that we had brought with us) in the quaint little garden behind the house before heading out to dinner. The house is about 10 minutes from the Utrecht city center but the drive is easy.

What a treasure. Mabel, took such great care of us. She gave us a tour of this interesting and historic establishment. Showed us to our rooms and introduced us to the black cat, Nora, and the 2 chickens. We enjoyed the peaceful garden sitting on the Swan bench while enjoying the fountain, birds and petting the cat. We took a walk to the nearby castle and park. We walked alongside the canal. Mabel suggested a wonderful restaurant for dinner and made a reservation for us. In the morning she made a delicious and full breakfast of omelets with cheese, bacon, fruit yogurt, a platter of fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, fresh squeezed orange juice, tea, coffee, capuchinos and a wonderful assortment of rolls, croissants with butter jams and more. Muesli was enjoyed as well. All this was served on China in front of a fire with two candelabras on the long dining table. Beautiful, fresh flowers adorned the room. Mabel was nothing short of amazing and made us feel very relaxed and welcomed.

A memorable stay in a comfortable and charming hotel - a historic building, full of antiques and works of art. The surrounding area is also interesting with a fairytale castle, riverside walks and windmills all within a short distance. Breakfast was superb with a log fire burning, floral arrangements and everything you could wish for including hot food prepared to order. Reception and breakfast hosts were both friendly, polite and also helped to organise secure bike storage. Not part of the hotel but a similarly memorable evening dinner can be had at the Bistro Belle restaurant - just across from the hotel entrance🙂

What a wonderful gem of a place! I booked it on a whim and I'm happy I did, because this has been one of the most enjoyable stays ever. The location is very peaceful and the autumn landscape was absolutely lovely. Not the best connected place, but very quiet and beautiful. And the staff has been exceptionally helpful and nice, from accommodating my very late check-in to just being all-around wonderful and kind people. They gave me a tour of the property, which is fascinating and quirky - I could even go into the unoccupied rooms at my leisure. There is some interesting history there, and I wish I had more time to fully explore this historical building and all its furnishings.

A bit difficult if you don't have your own transportation, as it's quite far from public transport.

A large old house with spacious rooms, with old-time decor. A really pleasant garden. Excellent environment: beside the river, at the heart of a village. Small boats sailing by. Park nearby. The host is very welcoming and friendly. Really good bar-restaurant next door (Belle-Guest). Next to beautiful Dutch countryside: green fields, windmills, canals. You can hire a bike and go for a ride. Breakfast is great: in good weather, served in the garden at tables by the host. Bread, croissant, cheese, jams, coffee/tea. fruit juice and cooked eggs.

A wonderful surprise for us - great place, beautiful house, very kind and helpful people. Rooms and garden like from a romantic novel. everything beautifully arranged and clean. the breakfast is absolutely amazing, it contains everything you can think of. if we ever visit the Netherlands again, this place is an obvious choice. greetings Anežka from the Czech Republic !!! Fabulous place!!! Beautiful, good vallue for money. If you love romatic places, this is your place. The location is outside of Utrecht, but only 20 min away with the bus. I woud rather say - it is better than in the center.

Not having a sink in the toilet was our biggest concern. We had to clean our hands in the kitchen.
