Great location. The room was spacious and attractive, as the building was old, yet the rooms were updated. Very charming and comfortable.

Just be aware that there is no staff on duty, except at the appointed time for check-in. I arrived a little early but could not drop off my luggage. And other than at check-in, there was no staff at the hotel to assist in questions. This, however, was made somewhat clear when I booked; although I didn't realize it actually meant absolutely no staff on duty before and after check-in.

Brass was a fantastic place to stay! Check in and check out was so easy and it was brilliant to be able to have the digital key on our phone. It is really central and only a short walk from the main station, making it perfect for exploring the city. I had read reviews about noise being an issue but we didn't find this at all. Our room faced the main square and although the neighbouring bars were full and bustling well into the night, we didn't hear a thing and slept through without being disturbed. Ear plugs were also provided! The bed was so comfortable, all linen was clean and fresh and we had a really good night's sleep. Highly recommend

The only downside is not having a luggage store on check out, but it is understandable why as this would require someone to man reception. There are luggage lockers on the first floor of the train station which makes up for it, so it really wasn't a problem in the end and you don't have to drag luggage around while you explore :)

Excellent location, easy walk from the train station and in the heart of the old town area, so it was easy to walk everywhere we wanted. The rooms were very well kept, clean, and supplied; nicely decorated and lots of windows. Communication to check in and access the property and building was excellent and easy. It was quiet even with a few restaurants just outside, the air conditioning is a plus for comfort and quiet at night. Utrecht is a beautiful city and we enjoyed exploring it for a few days from here. The restaurant was not open the days we happened to be there but it looked very nice and the menus looked very good as well. We would definitely recommend this property.

No concerns but take note this is, as advertised, a boutique hotel, there typically was not staff present at the hotel but they were available via phone/text if needed. This was fine with us, but do not expect concierge services.

lovely decoration, very modern, good location, happy that we didn’t stay on the weekend because it’s surrounded by loads of bars and restaurants, easy check in but very technological, everything through a link, I was afraid to run out of battery otherwise I wouldn’t open, no reception

it would be great a light in the place that is like wardrobe No hand soap The steps of the stairs are very small, fortunately we didn’t have luggage otherwise it could be a nightmare The day of our check out a man knocked and entered into the room at 9am when the check out is at 11am we were sleeping and that was shocking

Great location, clean, comfortable and easy to check in (if you have internet access as key is initially on your phone). Lovely coffee machine in the room and tea. Very well appointed and cozy feeling. Friendly cleaners.

My room lacked a hand soap upon check in but this was a small oversight. I can understand why some guests may not like the fact that there are no staff working at the hotel beyond cleaners however for me this is not an issue. It could be useful to provide a small call/voice note to guests to explain this and put them at ease.

The room was gorgeous and very clean and retained much of its original charm. The best bed we've slept in since our trip began. We had a king size bed with beautiful linens. The shower was also excellent. Great location near the canals and wonderful restaurants.

Didn't realize when booking it was more of an airbnb. There was no staff whatsoever so entry was by digital key. We felt like we were the only people in the building which was a bit odd. The restaurant seemed deserted and was closed up. But, the room was so nice we didn't really care.

We liked the close proximity to the centre of town. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very attentive.

There was no large or full length mirror in the room, one could have been placed behind the rooms door as an example. No hanging space for the wet towels, a few extra hooks would have been great. We stayed on the top floor and the stairs, for us personally, were difficult to manage as they were very windy and narrow. Especially manoeuvring our luggage, this is not something that can be changed, but noted in our particular circumstance.

The location of the hotel is less than a 2 minute walk to the center of Utrecht's Old Town. The Brass is a historic home that has been converted into a beautifully modernized hotel with all the modern amenities you would wish for including, air conditioning and a fabulous shower! We arrived early for check-in, the owner was not on site, but with a quick telephone call he came immediately to open up the door for us!

The stairs to our room was a curved staircase but it's a "historic" home that has been converted to a wonderful hotel (see picture)! The owner was gracious and assisted my husband to carry my luggage up to our room.

I recently stayed at a hotel and was blown away by the quality of the room. The decoration was absolutely stunning - it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into every detail. I especially loved the plants that were placed throughout the room. They added such a nice touch and really brought life to the space. Overall, I was extremely impressed by the quality of the hotel room and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing stay.
