On arrival I thought the place would be loud and unruly as it was a Thursday night and the sports bar was full as well as the carpark with trucks. I was pleasantly surprised as to how quiet it was - I’m not sure how the trucks got out of the carpark so quietly in the wee hours!

The shower water didn’t heat up to really hot but it was still doable and not worth the walk to go and tell someone about it. The only thing I hated was walking into the full sports bar on my own with my pack and standing awkwardly at the bar while signing in (as it was about 6.30pm). I didn’t enjoy it and hated the feeling of not knowing who I should be talking to.

Was travelling through so was ideal as a stopover. Close to the highway so easy start in the morning. On site bar, restaurant, TAB so no need to go anywhere else. Comfy bed. Morning coffee and a good price for what I was after. It's a stopover for trucks but I didn't notice any extra noise. Although I was up about 7am. Right on the doorstep to riccarton Racecourse as well, if you're looking for accomms for a race day.

Nothing really. I wanted a spot to crash before carrying on north in the morning and it was bang on.

I was impressed by the cleanliness of the room and facilities. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, providing a great night's sleep. The room was warm and cozy, and the added convenience of being able to park right in front of the apartment was a bonus. Despite it being a race weekend, the surroundings were surprisingly quiet during the night. Additionally, having access to Sky Sports, was a fantastic feature, and the restaurant offered delightful coffee options. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable - excellent value for money. Perfect launch pad for a New Zealand holiday. Easy parking, great nights sleep and fantastic meals after afternoon flights in.

Some travelers may not like filling up the kettle or doing dishes from the bathroom sink. Everything is very clean so for an overnight trip and only really making coffee and washing up a cup or two this was not of any real consequence to me.

Loved everything about our stay apart from the lack of attention most of the staff showed to their customers. The lady at the checkout desk when we left was very pleasant and pretty much saved the day.

Staff were a little preoccupied with other duties. It showed in their attention to the customer before them. A smile costs nothing and will go a long way to the warmth and friendliness of the hotel. Otherwise a perfect stay

Excellent on site restaurant and bar highly recommend Hoofbeats Restaurant the food was excellent! The service was great at both the sports bar and restaurant.

Our room had a weird smell and the curtain had grubby marks. All a bit tired but for 3 nights it was ok. It was rather noisy on the Saturday night but to be expected with the bar.

Tea, coffee and milk supply was good for multiple drinks between housekeeping tops ups. Thank you for this. The ground floor room was quiet with little noise from the unit overhead or from the street. The blackout curtains made for a good sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful. Shower over bath not ideal but water pressure was fabulous.

Heating thermostat on wall heater turned off after relatively short period, without warming the room adequately, so I had to use the electric blanket and the bathroom heater and heated towel rail to keep the room warm enough. This seems to me to be a false economy. It would have been better to allow the wall heater to run longer, and then be left on a low heat overnight, in order to maintain a comfortable room temperature. A heat pump might provide a better solution. Only bathroom ventilation was to open the window which in the cold wet winter was not ideal and took a long time to deal with the condensation.

Lynne was super lovely to deal with! Allowed me to check in early as I had a function to be at mid-afternoon. She also upgraded my room to a nicer one for no extra cost as I had booked the cheapest room available at the time of booking but did not require the number of beds being a solo traveler. Great on-site parking, lovely spacious room with a very large shower, faultless really!

Check in was very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were fairly modern, quiet and had all amenities as advertised. Location was great, and having a bar and restaurant was convenient as well as a dairy and takeaway next to the complex. Excellent value for money, drive down to Riccarton was not far at all. Enjoyed my stay.

Just a little bit better for cleaning, eye for detail would have made this booking perfect. Drawers in bathroom and beside beds could have been cleaned, as well as kitchen counter. Besides this we will definitley book again.
