The Garden Hotel

Location was perfect for our needs. Didnt have breakfast. Motel really good but dont like the skylight things in bedroom. Motel staff we dealt with really friendly.

We didnt like the restaurant at all and definately wont reccomend it to anyone quite the opposite in fact. Although it was clean and tidy. The management staff were quite abrupt almost to the point of being rude. But A couple of the waitresses were very nice. Didnt get names. The food was discusting to the point that we are surprised anyone goes there. My son had to go back to our unit to be sick.

our room was very clean, and although kitchen area is quite old, it was functional and well stocked with utensils. room was very spacious and beds were so comfortable. loved the manuka soap, awesome cookies and hot chocolate provided. really felt the hotel's thoughtfulness for their customers to have a comfortable stay. location is great too, near to main road and shopping mall. sad that we only stayed a night, arriving late and having to leave early the next day. it was real value for money, and in my opinion, the room was better than what the photos portrayed.

as we arrived at night, and our room was at the end of the property. the whole place and the walkway from the carpark was quite dark and quiet and we had to use our torchlights to find our way to the room. first impression- felt quite unsafe. need to have more lights in the area.

Everything was good 😊 and very spacious for a family. The restaurant is good too 😁. Parking wasnt confusing and definitely was easy along with the other stayers.

The only thing is the back rooms that have the shipping containers there looks abit sussed but other than that nothing was disappointing enjoyed my stay and definitely would recommend coming back or staying!

I always choose to stay here on my trips to Christchurch. it’s clean and comfortable, very affordable and pleasant reception staff who go out of their way to ensure you have everything 😀 and it’s so central to shopping, buses etc.

I never have anything negative to say about my stays here but this time there was quite a few misses with the housekeeping. Maybe busy or a shortage of staff, and not enough to be a problem though. If anything is missed reception will gladly give you what you need 😀

Staff were friendly and helpful when we needed them. Rooms were a good size and lovely and clean. Plenty of extra pillows and bedding if needed. Bathroom, toilet and rubbish bins serviced daily. No road noise (our rooms were at the back of the complex) and quiet neighbours. Good parking. Comfortable beds.

The decor was a bit dated, the room could do with a fresh coat of paint and nicer curtains. Beds were a bit low but very comfortable.

I stay here every year. it’s affordable, clean and the staff are super nice. it’s 5 mins walk to a bus stop and ten to The Palms Shopping Centre. perfect location. 😀

This year for the first time a lot of inconsiderate guests banging doors and running around nearly all night some nights. was very hard to get a good nights sleep.

The friendly and wonderful lady at reception left our room key in a secured black code box and she even turned our heatpump on for us as we arrived 11:25pm and it was super nice walking into a warm, clean, spacious room. Highly recommended this was our 2nd time staying at The Garden Hotel

There was nothing I didn't like, we all loved our stay there.

The rooms were very spacious. We appreciated having a full kitchen. We attended the buffet meal in the Garden Hotel Restaurant one of the nights we stayed. This was a highlight for all of our family! Such a great selection of food and all very tasty.

The bed was a bit hard! Also, if the room sleeps 6, we would've appreciated couch/chair seating in the living area for all of us.

Room was clean and well managed and I wasn't made to wait, everything was ready for me. The staff was polite and very friendly and understanding. The room was cozy and well warmed being winter.

There was an odd times when I was having issues connecting to the wi-fi, maybe the room was a bit away from the central modem. Otherwise no complaints.

Our room was a little detached from main area. big spacious budget room. Quiet location as I had asked for. Bed firm & nice crispy sheets. Kitchinette had all we needed. Very good water pressure. The hotel was close to our venue so all good. It surfed our purpose. On the days that we stayed the restaurant was closed.

The heat pump struggled to get/ keep the room warm. The weather in Christchurch was quite cold those days. We managed.
