Great location to Central Gisborne. Friendly staff, nice comfortable room. Bed was super comfy with beautiful linen. Swimming pool and water view was great. Easy parking.

While the bathroom was nice, some of the bathroom facilities are tired and dated. Shower had a leak, tile was chipped and shower cavity a little tired. All of this is just general wear and tear to be expected in a high use facility. However, none of these things impacted my stay and I enjoyed being here.

Portside is in avery convenient location, the room is a good size and has a really great layout including a clever kitchen with dishwasher and oven. The room was very quiet which we really enjoyed. The room was also nice and warm without using the heatpump (6°c outside). Check in was efficient and pleasant.

Upon entering our room we were met by a horrible smell. It was the drain in the kitchen. I fixed the problem by pouring water down the drain and opening the window. This solved the problem within minutes.

Excellent location, spotlessly clean, very comfortable, good price

The rooms that aren’t overlooking the port (which is a beautiful view) overlook the car park. The Master bedroom in our 2 bedroom apartment was pretty small with no storage. Would have been good to have a drying rack provided in the apartments that have a washing machine - there’s a dryer but for things that can’t go in the dryer we had to hang it all on the outdoor furniture in the balcony which wasn’t great for anyone!

Location is excellent. We loved our morning walks by the ocean. So close to town. Loved the view of the port...so interesting. Pool is cold, but lovely and refreshing. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We slept well as the bed was comfortable.

We enjoyed the room but think all rooms need outside chairs, not just some rooms. The exercise room is very small and needs more equipment

This is a very nice waterfront hotel, kitchette was included and the place was modern and the staff are friendly and accomading, there is a pool and a lot of people fish from the close by river channel

So this is very much a hotel experience in a modern hotel, if this is your preference then this will be a very nice stay, we look for it uniqueness and this place had some with the riverside and pool, just not a lot.

we were very impressed with the staff at reception! they were friendly informative and engaging. we also loved the house keeping team who called in to make up the room and asked if we needed more coffee tea milk and your lovely bickies!! The room was awesome but seeing the harbour view rooms had us wishing we had paid the little extra to upgrade. will definitely recommend. AAAAAAA++++ well done team and thanks for making our stay a great one.

Easy check, plenty of parking. Bedding very fresh and comfortable. Good kitchen.

View from room was very disappointing. overlooking car park and building next door under maintenance wrapped in white plastic. Bedrooms a little on the small size. Bathroom light above the vanity was not working, very poor lighting from the one small down light.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the double volume lobby and windows overlooking the pool and harbour entrance. All tastefully decorated and rooms were well equipped with a comfortable bed.

Instant sachet coffee in the rooms. A coffee plunger and ground coffee would be nice.

Our room was clean & inviting, we were surprised to have a kitchenette in our room, it had everything you needed to make a meal, salt n pepper included! We made ourselves breakfast, we enjoyed the views of the lake beside us. I Also enjoyed the saltwater pool, was just what I needed!

There wasn't much to not like, the only thing would be the coffee sachets, the coffee in them were awful, if there was a small plunger & plunger coffee I would give another star🙂

It was amazing!! Comfy bedding, exceptionally clean, cute view, very warm during the winter. I'm an organized freak & I absolutely love how all the kitchenware was placed perfectly. This was a big thumbs up for me! Perfect to feel like a break away from home & reality & everything we needed was there. Rooms were cute & brilliant. 100% recommend this stay.
