We stayed in a ground floor apartment. It has two rooms separated by the bathroom and kitchen spaces, surprisingly this works really well. It was nice to have a kitchen space with a stove, fridge and microwave which could be handy for us in the future. It has unobstructed access to the beach and boardwalk and probably a 1-2 min walk to the cafe for coffee. Close to CBD but far enough way to enjoy the peace and quiet. The staff were very pleasant to converse with. Highly recommended.

I am not sure if the extraction fans were working in the bathroom, as they were situated between rooms they don't have windows to get rid of the condensation. If they are working, they're really quiet and maybe a tad slow. I was also in a rush and didn't let front of house know. My bad.

The location was great! Deck that looks out to the sea and a boardwalk. The plan of the room was different to anything we’ve experienced before but worked great for us. All the staff we met were lovely. Had everything we needed in our room with kitchen, we even did some baking! The furniture was of good quality, really comfortable and set out great in the lounge area.

Not so much a didn’t like but the bathroom could do with an extractor fan. But there was def no mould or mouldy smell. It’s just a case of taking quick showers and making sure to open the doors to allow the air to flow through.

From the beginning, staff were so friendly and approachable, and the rooms and locations are amazing. While the bathroom and kitchen are a little older, the facilities they had were awesome, beautiful bathroom toiletries, plunger coffee, and so many teas/ coffee/ hot chocs etc, even bikkies in a jar! But the living room, with the balcony overlooking the sea was the absolute winner for me- such a large room, the views were unbelievable, it felt like a holiday not work! And the bed was super comfy too- highly recommend!

This is the first time we've stayed here. The motel backs onto the front of the beach in the heart of Gisborne, but is set back enough from the Port and busyness of the city to be very quiet and secluded. The fitout is classic kiwi in perfect condition. I am a clean freak (in a bad way) and clean all cutlery, dishes and amenities before using, but these rooms are immaculate. Thank you to the cleaning crew - they are fantastic. We enjoyed everything about our stay, from the time of booking to the sad goodbye when we left. I asked to make a booking for Christmas/New Year on the basis of our stay. Can't say enough for this place.

The view is amazing. Easy walk to shops. Oweners and staff are very friendly and happy 😊 rooms clean and modern and very quiet. Well equipped kitchen so we choose to eat in for our evening meal. This was my second stay and my now go to place when I go to Gisborn for all the reasons above. I was traveling with my brother so we upgraded to have a separate lounge area on arrival at a good price. It felt like home away from home with a stunning view. Highly recommend 👌

There was nothing to dislike

Modern facilities were awesome loved the decor, I stay at motels quite often and this one sets itself apart from the others. The rooms were spotless, very tidy and clean! So impressed by this motel, the location was great having the beach right in front of us. Staff were so lovely and helpful couldn’t fault this place would 100% stay again

What's not to like! Stayed upstairs in a recently refurbished room, view was stunning. Direct access straight on fab swimming, surfing sand beach. Genuine Kiwi hospitality including nostalgic clothesline for the wet beach towels and togs. Home away from home.

Having to leave! Honestly, stayed 4 nights which is definitely not enough to really enjoy the magic of this place.

Fantastic stay here - highly recommend. Although it was just me and my husband, this facility would be fantastic for family holiday. Great location, beach front, plenty of space, and comfortable, clean beds.

If I was to be picky and mention anything at all it would only be .... staying in the ground unit, you can hear upstairs slider door opening and closing.

I booked this property for my parents and they absolutely loved this property, right outside the beach front which was the best thing they loved about this stay. Ground access was requested and was accommodated to as my mother needs accessibility with a walker. The room was immaculate with an amazing view. Plenty of space and beautiful quality of beds.
