3 weeks on what I most remember was the lovely lady at reception, it was lovely to talk to her. The cabin was great, really liked the ramp, my husband has a bad back and doesn't like steps so it worked for us. But it was spacious and airy and though there was no aircon but they provided a big fan which was great because it was unexpectedly humid. Loved the fact that the motel is part of a working farm and you can see the animals. It was a short drive to town and all amenities.

Bed configuration in our room was a bit awkward due to the shape of the room, one side was pushed up against the wall, I ended up sleeping in the spare bed so I wouldn't have to clamber out. Just something to be aware of if you are less mobile.

Unfortunately cloud covered prevented us seeing the mountain. The town near by is very small, but has everything you need. The property is fairly simple in its standards, but clean. We did find a few spiders in our beds, but I guess that comes with living in the country. There were also coin operated laundry facilities but no spa, that has been removed, but I think we read somewhere that it was available.

The hotspot internet is pretty average. It was very windy when we stayed, making the doors very rattley. The sensor lights were very bright outside and I think were set off by birds/wind, so perhaps better blockout curtains would be helpful.

We had a good stay. Everything we needed to make our stay comfortable was supplied. Clean towels daily, clean sheets, it was very clean overall.

The smoke alarm went off for no reason at 3am on our first night which I’m sure was not the owners fault. The second night, the unit next to us had several dogs in their vehicle and outside, one yelped constantly through the night effecting my son’s sleep as he was closest to the noise. Other than these two things all else was satisfactory.

I loved that you felt at home with all the chickens and sheep..was a very pretty place to stay for a few days ..the staff very friendly and accommodating and pointed us in the right direction for a great day out ..

Would have liked paper towels or tissues in the unit ..walls are a bit paper thin ,could hear the guy snoring next door,he actually woke us up..though I don’t think this happens a lot …and better pillows ..

My grandchildren enjoyed the horses and the beautiful personalities of the dogs. It's different to other motel stays because of the animals. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they made us feel so welcome, when we go to Hawera again, I am going to book there again. Thankyou so much for having us and there were a lot of us. I booked two apartments they suited our large family.

Only one thing, no lock on the bathroom door.

The motel was very neat and clean. Excellent for families with small kids.

Would have been nice if the unit was warm specially if ypu have been travelling since 5am. We got there late, around 4.30pm and had to wait for about an hour for the unit to heat up as oil heaters take longer.

Comfortable big accommodation, fully equipped, good host, good shower and sunny weather with cloud free Mt Taranaki. Location was for our activities (hiking, going around Mt Taranaki) perfect. Tip, a fantastic bakery in Stratford for a good cup of coffee and sweets or lunch

Super friendly staff, excellent setting, clean spacious rooms with a back porch overlooking a small pasture with sheep. We couldn’t have been more pleased.

Walls are a bit thin but they placed us next to another couple we were traveling with and spread out the guest so sound wasn’t really an issue.

Very friendly and welcoming host. Motel room thoughtfully provisioned- crockery,cooking facilities,linen etc. Exceptionally clean. Outdoor seating with a great view of Mt Taranaki, greenery & animals . Gardens well maintained and thoughtfully planted with flowers and shrubs. Bitumen walkways to allow for a daily stroll.

Road noise in background. Able to hear talk from adjoining room.

Mother bantam and 8 tiny chicks... Great verandah.

We were in unit 1 at the entrance, so had concrete driveways near, and noise and lighrs at night. Stay in any other unit!! (where it's quieter, and lovely grassy surroundings, and great views of paddocks)
