I stayed for a week, as I had to write a book chapter and wanted to ride the local mountain bike trails. Most guests seemed to just stay one night, so I think people are mainly using this as a stopover to Oslo or Bergen. I really loved Nesbyen and would recommend it as a place to visit for a few hours or a day. For mountain bikers there are some great trails here. The hotel is not set up specifically to cater for mountain bikers, but there was plenty of space to leave it and I found the hotel a great base to explore the valley from.

The property was a like a look back in time. Very interesting decor and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. Our room was a a bit dated but impeccably clean. The shower was amazing. In our travels, we have never experienced such great pressure. Although due to the layout of the bathroom, it got the floor quite drippy. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Both were delicious. The variety of choices for breakfast were unbelievable! Highly recommend. Our room was quiet. The hotel is easy to find off the highway.

We loved the nostalgic feel and friendly atmosphere of the place. The apartment was extremely good value for the price, and it was great to have a kitchen to cook. The bathroom had brilliant underfloor heating so was nice and toasty, and we loved the generous Norwegian breakfast. The location is absolutely beautiful.

If you want a very modern or pristine hotel, this probably isn’t the place for you. Some of the furniture was a bit tired or worn, although the beds were comfortable.

The breakfast was excellent because of the fine, nutritious foods I usually eat including fine coffee but also the warm, inviting and very cozy dining room. I could have taken 2 hours to eat breakfast.

The only thing that could have gone better was to not have to wait as long to meet the manager so that we could drop off our luggage. It meant that we could have arrived earlier at the local park which we were visiting.

This hotel is one of those that you can tell that much love has been invested to it.. its a family-owned hotel with a nostalgic feel. It has a 70s vintage indoor design and we just love browsing though the family pictures and heirloom furniture. The owner (Anni) was also very friendly and she is such a sweetheart. Our group stayed at the cottage and the hotel. Overall we can agree that this hotel has a lot of potential. The beds are comfy with super clean sheets and towels. The bathroom had heated flooring and everything worked fine - carpets were clean, TV has local channels, wifi was fast with no interference, hot water works perfect. Our highlight was the breakfast.. delicious selection of sliced meat and smoked salmon with varieties of Norwegian condiments. The hotel is situated in a perfect spot over looking the mountains. You can also hear the river (located across the hotel) and the waterfall (behind the hotel). If you are looking to get away from the city, then it is perfect, but not if you are looking for a place near shops and recreational areas.

The hotel signage was worn and not very appealing. There aren't any facilities like a gym or pool, nor play areas for children. The hotel does need some refurbishments, but it doesn't stop us from loving this gem. <3

Old hotel with lots of charm. It felt very family oriented which was nice. I think we may have been the only ones in the hotel as it’s out of season, which gave a little bit of a ‘The Shining’ feel - but in a good & fun way. we loved it!

This is a great hotel halfway to Oslo. 24-hour reception desk. Luggage was conveniently unloaded. The best breakfast I've ever had in Norway. Price-quality ratio!

The weather did not allow getting to know the surroundings.

Great breakfast. Comfortable beds. Very quiet place. Good place to stay with dog. Easy parking. Fun with the sheep flock nearby, so nice to watch them.

Some modernization needed, but it had a lot of charme.

Fantastic personal, great food, very accommodating. All things we needed were provided for us. Great property for the children to run and play.

The room we stayed in met the needs we required for our group, but should have been more cleaned.

We were driving from Bergen to Oslo and stayed here. The staff were very helpful. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was exceptional.
